In this paper, for the systematic software evaluation and selection objective, we first discussed the systems software which is distinctly different from applications oriented software in source, concept and use. We suggested the systematic procedures for the effective software evaluation and selection by analyzing categories of commercially available proprietary software, sources of information for software selection, request for information, request for proposal, user surveys as an aid to evaluation and evaluation of responses to the RFP.

A power system designer may have difficulties in choosing a suitable multiple-input converter topology for a specific target application because each multiple-input converter topology presented in the literature has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this perspective, this paper presents a systematic topology selection method for multiple-input converters with three comparison criteria including cost-saving effect, modularity potential and flexibility. Based on these criteria, this paper proposes a strategic flow chart example for choosing a proper multiple-input converter topology. This flow chart will provide a powerful selection tool to a power system designer when he or she chooses a specific multiple-input converter for a given application.

This paper deals with modeling and scheduling for flexible manufacturing systems(FMS). In modeling extended Petri nets are used to describe various and complex properties. To resolve multiple conflict without predefined properties, such as part selection, machine selection, rule-based scheduling method is introduced. This structure have a capability of on-line scheduling with systematic modeling description.

On the situation cooperating with business partners on the supply chain, systematic decision making process is a critical issue for them. The two major issues of purchasing strategy such as selecting vendors and managing them are important part of their overall business activities. This study mainly focus on the former issue of the vendor selection. Through the empirical study, analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method was applied to select vendors among supplier vendors based on four selection criteria such as the level of quality, product on management ability, delivery, and price. The results of study showed the main criteria of vender selection was the ability of quality management. The vender selected based on AHP and the current selection method was different, but implicitly projected the dilemma situation between quality and price which occurs in decision making process of real life.

레저용 플로팅 건축물은 구조물 안전성, 건축물 용도, 건설 및 관리 경제성, 주변 지역이나 도시와 개발 연계성, 해양환경에의 영향 등을 고려할 때 입지선정에 대한 체계적 지침과 합리적 기준이 반드시 필요하다. 그러나 현재 우리나라에는 레저용 플로팅 건축물이 많이 계획되고 설치되는 시점에 있음에도 불구하고 입지선정에 관한 연구나 지침이 전혀 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 레저용 플로팅 건축물의 입지선정을 위해 체계적 입지선정프로세스. 합리적 입지선정기준 및 입지평가지침을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구에서는 지자체나 민간 기업에서 레저용 플로팅 건축물을 계획할 경우 체계적이고 합리적 입지선정에 활용할 수 있도록 입지선정과정, 입지선정기준, 입지평가항목 및 요인을 그림과 표로 알기 쉽게 제시하였다.

Most local agencies such as counties and small cities continuously express difficulties in making technically and financially defensible decisions on their pavement infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation. Unlike pavement systems managed by state highway agencies, the total lane-miles of many local pavements are significantly short and they are managed by a limited number of staff who typically have multiple responsibilities. Most local agencies also do not have historical pavement performance data and the lack of a systematic decision making framework exacerbates the problem. A structured framework and an easily accessible decision support tool that reflects their local requirements, practices and operational conditions would greatly assist them in making consistent and defensible decisions. This study fills this gap by developing a systematic pavement treatment selection framework and a spreadsheet based tool for local agencies. It is expected that the proposed framework will significantly help local agencies to improve their pavement asset management practices at the project level.

Increase in power consumption can cause a serious stability problem of an electric power system without construction of new power plants or transmission lines. Also, it can generate large power loss of the system. In costly and environmentally effective manner to avoid constructing the new infrastructures such as power plants and transmission lines, etc, the distributed generation(DG) has paid great attentions so far as a solution for the above problem. Selection of optimal location and size of the DG is the necessary process to maintain the stability and reliability of existing system effectively. However, the systematic and cardinal rule for this issue is still open question. In this paper, the method to determine optimal location of the DG is proposed by considering power loss when the DG is connected to an electric power grid. Also, optimal size of not only the corresponding single DG but also the multi-DGs is determined with the proposed systematic approach. The IEEE benchmark 30-bus test system is analyzed to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

The purpose of this study is to initiate a systematic approach to maximize profits through continuous development of menu and build a strong image of Western restaurants located inside hotels by identifying their guests' knowledge and concern and menu selection behavior in well being trend. Findings from the analysis are as follows. First, among the Western menu selection behavior, organic grain and seafood, seasonal event menu, less spicy and more natural cooking methods are favored as the most important consideration. Second, customers' knowledge and concern in well being trend and menu selection behavior were found to be statistically significant. Third, customers' awareness in health and obesity were found to be statistically significant to the concern in well being trend. Fourth, demographical characteristics of customers such as gender, marital status, age, income level and education were tested for their relationships with knowledge and concern in well being trend.

Because of rapid evolution of software technique, numerous software professionals have been concerned with component based development methodologies. However, it is hard to find out a systematic technique for the selection of COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) component in consumer position. Up to date, the major of component quality evaluation is object-oriented metric based evaluation methodology. But this paper present four step process and evaluation criteria based on MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making) technique for optimal COTS component selection in consumer position. Weconsidered funtionality, efficiency, usability based on ISO/IEC 9126 for quality measurement and executed practical analysis about commercial EJB component in internet. This paper show that the proposed selection technique is applicable to optimal COTS component selection.
