  • King Muryeong reungeseo Foot-rest on the subject of the king excavated a USB memory design. Foot-rest of the form and the meaning of patterns were expressed on a USB memory.   • This study researched the symbolic meaning of the costume colors in the independent film . The purpose of the study is to shed light on the relation between a film and the clothing color by exploring the symbolic meaning of costume colors as based on place images and as reflected in characters' internal psychological states and situations. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the colors primarily presented were neutral shades of black and white or dark, almost-black tones, representing the negative narrative structure and depicting the image of a human being. Second, a series of bright blue shades were presented to reflect the positive narrative structure of a human being returning successfully to reality. Third, the application of color, involving both the psychological aspect as well as the symbolism of color, was effectively delivered to the audience. Fourth, the emphasis on color in the smallest details of costumes was analyzed, and it was found that symbolic color effectively communicated the whole image of transformation as the story progressed, clearly delivered delicate emotional messages, and contained symbolism relating to particular places and situations.

현대패션에 나타난 그라피티에 관한 연구 (A Study on Graffiti Expressed in the Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to consider various characteristics in the graffiti-look in the modem fashion by interpreting meanings and properties of graffiti, transferred from street art to a new main stream in art. The scope of this study is limited to works from the 1990s to the present, and the materials for the literatures and exploratory study are fashion-related portfolios and the domestic and foreign fashion magazines. The first characteristic is satire. The graffiti-look conveys directly or indirectly with phrase or symbol various messages of politics, social ideology, wealth and poverty, environmental pollution, anti-war, etc. Body is even more used for graffitiand designers express freely their identity or ideology through the formative style of graffiti. The second characteristic is pleasure. Fantastic expressions from a fairy-tale or fable in the graffiti-look give humor meaning freedom and sense of liberation in a sense of catharsis to the modem people's emotion. The graffiti-look uses graffiti works to introduce its original message of humanism, happiness, humor, etc. to clothing; as a result, the graffiti-look features pleasure. The third characteristic iscommercial application. Brand logo designed by graffiti style is decorated with clothing, accessory, or ornament. This may not only emphasize brand name through lingual function of graffiti, but also be used for a distinctive marketing strategy against other brands. Logo which is regarded motive or pattern of design leaves a image instead of a meaning and performs a design function stressing formative sense.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the changing fashion image of the glossy materials including metal, leather, vinyl, latex, plastic etc. from 1960's to the present. Glossy materials used in the second half of the 20th century showed a restricted image combined with a specific social circumstance. They expressed a reflection of young and future-oriented space period of 1960s. Many designers like Paco Rabanne and Andre Courreges were concerned with the fashion of space age and expressed that image with leather and synthetic materials including silver leather, metal chain armor, and plastic appeared as the keynote of fashion. In 1970's, glossy material was the symbol of avant-garde and rebellious attitude by the punk fashion. They maximized glamourous look of 1980s, and cyber look with an expectation for a new millenium of 1990s. On the other side, glossy materials seem to be used as a source of various inspiration of fashion designer in the 21st century. Also, some of the past images, for example space look and glamourous look, are revived in the 21 st century by the form of modified design.

한국 현대 실내공간에서의 전통성 표현 경향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expressive Tendency of Traditional in Korean Contemporary Interior Space)

  • With development of digital technology and build-up of global network in the 21st century, Korea has recklessly accepted Western information and culture in recent years, thus causing damages to out identity. In the situation, restoration and development of traditions in a modern way will contribute to the creation of contemporary interiors. This study has analyzed and assessed the process through which traditional decorative elements have applied to contemporary interior decorations over the past ten years with a view to identify the trend of expressing traditional elements in comtemporary interiors. Designs that have applied traditional elements in a transfigure expression method amounted to 77 pieces, accounting for $43\%$ of the total investigated 178 designs, which was followed by 48 designs ($27\%$) of metaphor expression method and 39 designs ($22\%$) of symbol expression method, which express the tradition as interpreted by the designer. Designs that have adopted direct expression method amounted to no more than 14 pieces, accounting only for $8\%$ of the total designs. This result suggests that transformative, metaphoric and symbolic expressions that simplify or transform the original forms we more frequently used In the applications of traditional elements to modern interiors rather than directive expression that reproduces the original form as it was.

  • As the development of digital and technological sophistication, architectural speculation hierarchy had been more and further diversified and brought on the changes with system of architectural color meaning. Architectural color had been influences on evocation of effect and meaning by association, had the attributes of communication with human being, in common with precision, non-verbal and non-quantitative creative field. Color could not been defined as one conclusively standard symbol and figured out in inter-relationship with correlation, mental status and interaction. Color in architecture could been promptly defined as the tool of visualization in building or structure through the essential criterion to be measured with shape, space and author's thought. In consequence, color in architecture could been re-defined as the speculation concept for real characteristics creation(color as design factors on architect and color to be expressed by program) in itself, and color supporting system as for transposition of light and space enlargement scheme. Consequently, color in architecture could been turnover from perceived color to anthropological color through the real value creation scheme in itself.

  • 리드솔로몬 복호기에서 4중 오류 이상의 오류치와 위치를 발견해 정정시는 보통 치엔탐색기를 사용한다. 이때 기존의 방법은 회로량이 많고 지연시간이 길어 비효율적이었다. 본 논문에서는 갈로이스 부분장을 이용 이 탐색기를 속도도 빠르고 회로량도 대폭 줄인 새로운 효율적 탐색기회로 설계법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 4중 오류위치를 정확히 추출함을 보였으나, 이새 설계된 탐색기회로는 5중이상의 오류위치도 정확히 찾을 수 있는 설계이다. 새로운 회로는 정확히 오류위치를 발견할 수 있음이 예를 통해 검증되었다.

'실패한' 근대 집합주거의 실패요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Causes of Failure of the 'Failed' Modern Housing Projects)

  • This research is an effort to clarify the causes associated with the 'failure' of public housing projects built in the 20th century. Two of the most brutal symbol of failure were selected: the Pruitt-Igoe built in St. Louis, U.S.A. and the Bijlmermeer in the south of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Many critics have attributed the problems of the selected housing projects to architectural failure, and proposed a series of new approaches to architectural design. The claim that many housing projects 'failed' because they were based on an agenda for social reform, derived from the ideas of the CIAM, presupposes that architects were in the position of authority over providing housing for the poor. This research tries to overturn the belief of architectural community which has placed the responsibility for the failure of public housing on designers. The sense of isolation and powerlessness felt by the residents, and the social problems attendant on those feelings, may be reinforced by design but is not caused by Modern Architecture. It should be stressed that the political-economic and social context is more significant than the architectural design for the failure of public housing projects such as the Pruitt-Igoe and the Bijlmermeer.

한산이씨 문직물저고리에 나타난 문양과 직물구성 - 단(緞)과 사(紗)를 중심으로 - (Weave Composition of the Patterned Silks Excavated from Lady Lee(from Hansan)'s Tomb - Focusing on the Satin Damask(緞) and Simple Gauze(紗)-)

  • This study examined the motif, weave structure, fabric density, and thread thickness of the patterned silks excavated from the Lady Lee's Tomb to trace the weave composition of the 18th Century in Korea. Different weave compositions were adopted depending on the weave structure. Two weave structures appeared in these patterned silks : simple gauze and satin damask. In the case of simple gauze Jergori, all the components, Gil(bodice), Somae(Sleeve) had similar fabric density and thread thickness. On the other hand, the satin damask Jergoris was composed of the components of different fabric density and thread thickness. According to the fabric density and thread thickness, the motif sharpness of damask Jergori was represented in three different ways : smooth and clear, rough and clear, and rough and vague. This revealed that Lady Lee selected not only pattern but also fabric density and thread thickness in the design of damask Jergori.

  • This study is based on the Virtual Reality Space what grow rapidly compared with other space type. We make a certain definite possibilities by the functional, material, scientific and conceptual space comparison approved with existing visual space about the function of sound and visual system & the application of the mechanical system. Symbol and Expression Media are showing characteristics more than a tool in Modern times being changed from materialistic world to immaterial one. Especially, Augmented Reality, which is the new technology showing human beings real world and virtual world simultaneously recently and being exceeded to existent many limits, is going ahead. Simulation space is the technology one which can be applied to various fields such as culture, industry and education etc., and it helps human beings to overcome their limitations. The gains from this study are the specified and detailed yardsticks and cases of Simulation(space) facilities classified as a specific space. Therefore, the space mainly consists of the parts on size, equipment, and material etc. judging from technical point of view. Architectural Space, especially, should be considered very importantly in the middle of the transition from image realization to experience. The comprehension on various contents together with mechanical facilities will be requested to the connection applied to physical space expression, and that is what we have to study continuously afterward.
