Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the educational needs of married immigrant women perceived by their home visiting educator. Methods: Data were collected using in-depth interviews and structured questionnaires during July 1st to 28th, 2009. 5 HVEs participated in focus group interview, and 27 HVEs in the questionnaire survey. Data were analyzed by content analysis and descriptive statistics using SPSS/WIN program. Results: Educational needs of Married Immigrant Women were conjugal and family relationship, child rearing and child health care, health management, sex education, and self-identification. There is no proper teaching materials about child rearing for HVEs. The educational needs of HVEs were physical and cognitive characteristics of child development, developmental screening skill and play according to the each developmental stages of the multi-cultural families. Conclusion: Family relationship, child rearing and child health care, must be stressed in educational program for Married Immigrant Women. To maximize the effectiveness of support for multi-cultural families, it must be developed a systematic educational program and teaching materials according to family developmental stages.
This study aimed to apply a methodological approach, 'social network analysis' to a case study for the understanding of relational structure among stakeholders related to green tourism development. By doing so, this study argued that it is important to identify stakeholder's network structure to help green tourism planners develop collaborative relationship among stakeholders. This study identified the stakeholders regarding a community-based festival development in the southern area of Korea, and investigated two types of networks among them: decision-making power relational and intimate network. Interviewer-administrated survey and in-depth interview were employed for data collection. The data was analyzed by SPSS (version 10.0) and Net-MinerII (version 2.5.0), and by constant comparison method. The result revealed that low different groups of the stakeholders were separated in the intimate networt and that the festival organizational body was not connected with other stakeholders in the decision-making power relational network. The existence of separated groups and weak relationship among the stakeholders appeared to relate to age-group differences, and different views on the festival between the stakeholders.
This study surveyed features of weddings in the main family by selecting 10 families in which the grandnephew and grandnephew's wife dwell in the head house, have a shrine, and hold a memorial service for Bulcheonwi (不遷位). A case survey through in-depth interview was carried out from April 9, to October 8, 2011. It surveyed the contents and the wedding artifacts in Uihon (議婚), Napchae (納采), Nappye (納幣), Daerye (大禮), Hyeongugorye (見舅姑禮), which are the procedures of traditional wedding that have been kept in the wedding ceremony of the main family. As a result, in deciding on marriage, the marriage was formed on the basis of similar Gagyeok (家格) and on ancestor's common scholastic mantle or origin. As for wedding furnishings, wedding presents, and wedding gifts, 9 out of 10 families were indicated to give and take weakly. Also, 6 out of 10 families held a traditional wedding ceremony in the yard of the bride's house. Hyeongugorye (見舅姑禮) was indicated to be held by all of the 10 families. A continuous effort in academic circles and industries is demanded for preserving the living culture of the main family, which proceeds with following the traditional elements even amid a rapidly-changing historical flow as today.
Twenty-three of International Math Olympians raised in Korea were served as the subjects to answer the following questions: (1) What family and school factors contribute to the development of the math talent of the Olympians\ulcorner (2) What impacts have the Olympiad program on the mathematically talented students\ulcorner By means of questionnaire survey and in-depth interview, the related data were collected. The questionnaires were developed by James Campbell for cross-cultural studies. The major findings were as follows: (1) the olympians were mostly 1st-born child and were "discovered" in an early age; (2) most olympians ranked highly in the class; (3) the SES of the Olympians' family were varied, though the majority were high; (4) the Olympians' family support and learning environment were reported strong and positive; (5) the Olympiad experiences were, in general, positive to the subjects, especially in learning attitude toward math and science, self-esteem and in autonomous learning and creative problem solving; (6) there were almost none special program designed for the Olympians during their school years; (7) the degree of computer literacy were varied according to the subject's personal interest and the accessibility to the computer; (8) most Olympians had not yet showed special achievement other than math as there were still students; (9) the Olympians were individuals with unique characteristics.teristics.
Recently, newly built apartments in Korea are provided various home automation (HA) systems based on information technology(IT) for residents' safer, healthier and more convenient living. However, the residents in these digital apartments are often not able to use the home automation systems effectively because of lack of their IT knowledge, attitude, or education. However, there are few researches have been done to find out the HA systems' real problems with regard to residents' aspects who use those systems everyday. The purpose of this study was to find out residents' current uses, satisfaction level and existing problems of HA systems by residents' POE. The findings of this study will give useful information to digital home construction companies to provide user-friendly digital home services for increasing users' satisfaction. One distinctive apartment equipped with home automation systems located in Seoul was selected for in-depth personal interview. The researcher developed a survey instrument and collected the data from 58 residents in January, 2007 who had been living there for more than a year. The results of the study found that critical problems were existed in several systems and they caused a lot of dissatisfaction from the residents. Also, some residents do not use several systems although they need to use them due to the burden of maintenance fee. Further detail findings and suggestions of this study were discussed.
The female leadership styles in the 21st century have been established as a major axis. Especially, the fashion of female politicians being exposed to the public during political activities has become a main element of a measure displaying visually female leadership styles in the 21st century and image making as well. Consequently, this study conducted qualitative research through the interview method to figure out regular voters' thoughts in depth about images being required for female political leaders and the fashion maximizing those images, and drew the detailed design elements. Suggesting the clothes design reflecting those elements for female political leaders by 3D virtual clothing works emerging as a new market creating profits related to fashion. The images which female political leaders have to have and were extracted through the interviews in this study, showed as feminine, strong leader, honest, and intelligent images, and also it was shown that female political leaders displaying proper images depending on the circumstances and using those images in politics rather than sticking to a fashion identity were favored by interviewees. The present study intends to contribute to being used as basic data of various research and fashion items of virtual reality and establishment of successful fashion strategy for female political leaders.

This study investigates the factors affecting Industry 4.0 adoption in the curriculum of university students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Universities need to respond to the changing faces of Industry 4.0 and, hence, Education 4.0. A mixed method including both qualitative and quantitative methodologies was utilized. An in-depth interview was carried out for exploring, reviewing, and testing content validity of constructs and measurement items. The pilot study was conducted with 120 respondents. The conceptual model and hypotheses were developed using data collected by a questionnaire survey distributed to 584 respondents by both electronic and paper forms with non-probability and convenience sampling techniques. The result of structural equation modeling showed that occupation relevance, skills, facility conditions, and social influence impacted on the intermediates variables, namely, relevance advantage, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention-to-use, and actual use. The independent variables are occupation relevance, skills, facility conditions, and social influence. They impact actual use through mediating constructs such as relevance advantage, perceived usefulness, and behavioral intention-to-use. The findings suggest that universities and students' efforts aimed at increasing the factors' perceptions of adoption of Industry 4.0 will contribute to implementation success, where success is defined as effectual usage of Industry 4.0.
The evaluation of the after-school program depends on whether it achieves its objectives or not so far which makes that it is not easy to figure out which mechanism is attributed to the consequences of the program. This study aims at developing the logic model of the after-school program and follows the processes such as literature review, opinion survey by specialists and in-depth interview with stakeholders. The target program of the study was focused on the special ability aptitude education in the elementary schools. The initial developed theory model was validated and finalized through being reviewed by specialists and teachers in charge of target schools. Based on the framework of logic model, the models are composed of context, components, activities, output/short term outcomes, and long term outcomes. As the key factors of the after-school program, amicable communication between the stakeholders, quality of the program in itself, follow-up management, counseling and guidance for students, instructors' expertise, and quality management of the program were drawn.
The purpose of this study was to identify dietitians' perception and purchasing pattern of fruits in elementary school lunch program. This study was conducted using mail survey from September 15 to October 30, 2006. Survey questionnaire was developed based on in-depth interview with three school food service dietitians. A total of 100 school food service dietitians in Seoul were participated. Based on the frequency analysis results, over half of respondents(69%) provides fruits every week, and 23% of respondents provides them twice a week. Strawberry, watermelon, apple, and mandarin were identified as the most frequently served fruits in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, respectively. Sixty two percent of respondents indicated they offered imported fruits, such as banana and pineapple, less than 10% of total fruits. Ninety three percent of respondents selected private contract when they purchase fruits, and forty four percent of dietitians decided fruits purchasing procedure by themselves. Respondents addressed "Apples and Pears were appropriate for a dessert." and "Apples and Pears supply nutrition such as calorie and vitamin." as the advantages of offering apples and pears in school lunch menu. They also indicated difficulty in preparation work and many leftovers as the disadvantages of offering apples and pears. When purchasing apples and pears, dietitians considered taste as the first criteria and price as the second. Respondents perceived that elementary school students preferred apples and pears in a neutral level. Respondents also had higher preference for an-sim apples which can be eaten without peeling for school lunch menu and higher intentions to provide in school lunch menu. The survey results also found that respondents' intention to offer apples in school lunch menu was higher than intentions to offer pears. The implications to increase the chance of fruits offering in school lunch menu were discussed.
To find an efficient solution for the globalization of Korean food in Brazil, we conducted a survey about the satisfaction of Brazilian natives who had visited a Korean restaurant, and possible suggestions for improvement. We also conducted indepth interviews with 13 owners of Korean restaurants in Seo Paulo, Brazil, about their plans to improve Korean food to be more appealing to the Brazilian palate. Our research shows that Korean restaurants had a below average reputation for employee kindness, menu taste and variety, interior, mood, and accessibility. As a result of the survey, we found that Korean restaurants were considered in general to be below average. The survey also showed that the higher the level of a person's economic standing, the less satisfaction they had with Korean food restaurants. We also found that the most common pieces of advice that Brazilian women had regarding Korean restaurants were to offer more variety in the menu, maintain a cleaner restaurant, and to actively engage in public relations. The general concerns of everyone surveyed focused on cleanliness and public relations of the restaurant. However, food-related people focused more on the taste and quality of the food. Sao Paulo is currently the most well-developed economic center in South America, so the world's food service industry is pushed to the front of its ongoing development. For Korean food to make inroads into Brazil, Korean restaurants need to change the niche that they occupy. First-generation family businesses and second-generation specialized family businesses coexist in that city. So first of all, to localize the Korean food for Brazilian tastes, a menu system that will easily allow natives to access Korean food must be established. And second of all, it must support the total food culture by improving distribution, sanitation management, and marketing methods that can get the natives to like Korean food ingredients.
