Comparison of dimensional accuracy between direct-printed and thermoformed aligners

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the dimensional accuracy between thermoformed and direct-printed aligners. Methods: Three types of aligners were manufactured from the same reference standard tessellation language (STL) file: thermoformed aligners were manufactured using Zendura FLXTM (n = 12) and Essix ACETM (n = 12), and direct-printed aligners were printed using Tera HarzTM TC-85DAP 3D Printer UV Resin (n = 12). The teeth were not manipulated with any tooth-moving software in this study. The samples were sprayed with an opaque scanning spray, scanned, imported to Geomagic® Control XTM metrology software, and superimposed on the reference STL file by using the best-fit alignment algorithm. Distances between the aligner meshes and the reference STL file were measured at nine anatomical landmarks. Results: Mean absolute discrepancies in the Zendura FLXTM aligners ranged from 0.076 ± 0.057 mm to 0.260 ± 0.089 mm and those in the Essix ACETM aligners ranged from 0.188 ± 0.271 mm to 0.457 ± 0.350 mm, while in the direct-printed aligners, they ranged from 0.079 ± 0.054 mm to 0.224 ± 0.041 mm. Root mean square values, representing the overall trueness, ranged from 0.209 ± 0.094 mm for Essix ACETM, 0.188 ± 0.074 mm for Zendura FLXTM, and 0.140 ± 0.020 mm for the direct-printed aligners. Conclusions: This study showed greater trueness and precision of direct-printed aligners than thermoformed aligners.

  • The 21/sup st/ century is a society based on knowledge, so in economic activities, it has emphasized the importance of information such as intellectual property or intangible asserts. Especially, according to the agreement on trade related as parts of intellectual property rights in WTO, it is used as the method of commercial entente and monopoly for intellectual property in an advanced nation. For this reason, WIPO and UNESCO discussed a complement for intellectual property on the foundation of traditional knowledge such as traditional knowledge (TK), genetic resources (GR) and traditional cultural expressions (TCE, folklore). Korea has a lot of knowledge falling under TK, GR, and TCE because of the long history of the country. In the case of traditional medical care, it has been used in the public health system. It is hard to apply these rights to traditional medical care of Korea because the laws of intellectual property have been established under the ideas of western culture. It is necessary to improve the classification system of traditional knowledge and patents. In the patent classified system of IPC, it needs to be related to the research between the classified system for massive technology and the classified system for traditional clinic technology.

  • Invertible transformations over n-bit words are essential ingredients in many cryptographic constructions. Such invertible transformations are usually represented as a composition of simpler operations such as linear functions, S-P networks, Feistel structures and T-functions. Among them T-functions are probably invertible transformations and are very useful in stream ciphers. In this paper we will characterize a secure trinomial on ${\mathbb{Z}}_{2^n}$ which generates an n-bit word sequence without consecutive elements of period $2^n$.

  • In the present note, we deal with $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms on complete submanifolds with weighted $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ inequality. By supposing submanifold is stable or has sufficiently small total curvature, we establish two vanishing theorems for $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms, which are some extension of the results of Kim and Yun, Sang and Thanh, Cavalcante Mirandola and $Vit{\acute{o}}rio$.

  • The subnormality of some classes of operators is a very interesting property. In this paper, we prove that the weighted $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ operator $C_h{\in}{\ell}^2(h)$ is subnormal and we described completely the set of the extended eigenvalues for the weighted $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ operator, some other important results are also given.

  • Let R be a commutative ring. An R-module E is said to be regular injective provided that Ext1R(R/I, E) = 0 for any regular ideal I of R. We first show that the class of regular injective modules have the hereditary property, and then introduce and study the regular injective dimension of modules and regular global dimension of rings. Finally, we give some homological characterizations of total rings of quotients and Dedekind rings.

Synthesis and Crystal Structures of Zn(II)- and Mn(II)- Diphenyldicarboxylate Complexes with N-Donor Ligand

  • Two new polymeric complexes, [Zn(dpa)(pyz)0.5]n (1; dpa = diphenate and pyz = pyrazine) and [Mn3(bpdc)3(py)4]n (2; bpdc = biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate and py = pyridine) were successfully isolated by the hydro- and solvo-thermal technique, respectively. The complexes were characterized by elemental and thermal analysis, vibrational IR spectroscopy, and by single crystal x-ray structure determination. For 2, magnetic property was also investigated. Complex 1 is a two-dimensional layer structure consisting of a paddle-wheel building unit of Zn-dpa chains bridged by pyrazine. While, complex 2 consists of linear trimeric Mn3 cluster as building unit to form 3D network. In the complexes, dpa2− (1) and bpdc2−(2) ligands show a typical bis-monodendate bridging and two kinds of bridging modes; a typical bridging and chelating/bridging mode, respectively.

  • Two new 3D coordination complexes [Cd(3-bpcd)(pht)] (1) and [Zn(3-bpcd)(pht)] (2) [3-bpcd = N,N'-bis(pyridin-3-yl)cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxamide, $H_2pht$ = phthalic acid] have been hydrothermally synthesized. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the complexes 1 and 2 represent a 4-connected diamondoid topology with a 3-fold interpenetrating feature. Moreover, the fluorescent properties of complexes 1 and 2 are studied.

  • The ${\alpha}-In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ single crystal with a good quality and stabilized property were gained successfully by the CTR(Chemical Transport Reaction)method. XRD analysis showed that the grown single crystals were cubic structure. The optical absorption spectra of ${\alpha}-In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ single crystal showed impurity absorption peaks due to cobalt impurity. These impurity absorption pesks were assigned to the ligand transition between the split energy levels of $Co^{2+}$ ions sited in $T_d$ symmetry of these semiconductor host lattice.
