Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the use of fish silage prepared from Indian oil sardines, Sardinella longiceps, as partial replacement of soybean meal as a sole source of protein for growing broiler chickens. The main objective of Experiment 1, an ileal digestibility assay, was to assess the nutritional value of fish silage compared with soybean meal for feeding broiler chickens. The two test ingredients, soybean meal and dried fish silage, were incorporated into semi-synthetic diets, as the only component containing protein. The ileal digestibility coefficients of amino acids of fish silage were considerably higher than those of soybean meal (p<0.001). The lower digestibility of amino acids from soybean meal was related to the presence of anti-nutritional factors such as trypsin inhibitors. Fish silage had higher levels of sulphur-containing amino acids than soybean meal. The objective of Experiment 2, a growth study, was to evaluate the effect of feeding fish silage on performance and meat quality characteristics of broiler chickens raised under closed and open-sided housing systems. Four diets containing various levels of fish silage (0, 10, 20 and 30%) were evaluated. Daily feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio were measured. At the end of Experiment 2, 96 birds were randomly selected and slaughtered to evaluate meat quality characteristics. Housing type had significant effects on feed intake and body weight gain (p<0.01). Birds in the open-sided house consumed 4.7% less amount of feed and gained 10.6% less than their counterparts in a closed house. Birds in both houses fed diets containing 10 and 20% fish silage gained more than birds fed 30% fish silage. The current study produced evidence that fish silage can replace up to 20% of soybean meal in broiler diets without affecting either growth performance or the sensory quality of broiler meat.

Let 𝓗(𝔻) be the space of analytic functions on the unit disc 𝔻. Let 𝜓 = (𝜓_j)ⁿ_j=0 and 𝚽 = (𝚽_j)ⁿ_j=0 be such that 𝜓_j, 𝚽_j ∈ 𝓗(𝔻). The linear differential operator is defined by T_𝜓(f) = ∑ⁿ_j=0 𝜓_jf^(j), f ∈ 𝓗(𝔻). We characterize the boundedness and compactness of the difference operator (T_𝜓 - T_𝚽)(f) = ∑ⁿ_j=0 (𝜓_j - 𝚽_j) f^(j) between weighted-type spaces of analytic functions. As applications, we obtained boundedness and compactness of the difference of multiplication operators between weighted-type and Bloch-type spaces. Also, we give examples of unbounded (non compact) differential operators such that their difference is bounded (compact).

This study presents an experimental investigation of conventional and enhanced receiver tube performance for the application of a concentrated parabolic trough collector (CPC). The CPC system is fabricated and tested for the conventional and enhanced receiver tubes. The experiments were performed on both tubes for the change of flow rates. The temperature rise of the tube surface, as well as working fluid, were monitored for varying flow rates. The results were compared and discussed in view of enhanced CPC system performance. The results exhibited that the temperature rise of the working fluid passing through the tube was more in the case of the enhanced tube compared to the conventional receiver tube under the same flow rates.

In this paper, we prove L^p estimates of a class of singular integral operators on product domains along surfaces defined by mappings that are more general than polynomials and convex functions. We assume that the kernels are in L(log L)² (𝕊^n-1 × 𝕊^m-1). Furthermore, we prove L^p estimates of the related class of Marcinkiewicz integral operators. Our results extend as well as improve previously known results.

This study proposes a modification to the objective function of the support vector machine for the linearly non-separable case of a binary classifier y_i ∈ {-1, 1}. The modification takes into account the position of each data item x_i from its corresponding class centroid. The resulting optimization function involves the centroid mean vector, and the spread of data besides the support vectors, which should be minimized by the choice of hyper-plane β. Theoretical assumptions have been tested to derive an optimal separable hyperplane that yields the minimal misclassification rate. The proposed method has been evaluated using simulation studies and real-life COVID-19 patient outcome hospitalization data. Results show that the proposed method performs better than the classical linear SVM classifier as the sample size increases and is preferred in the presence of correlations among predictors as well as among extreme values.

This research explores the fall of pre-independence Sultanates and its continued political, economic, and cultural influence in post-colonial Indonesia. By using qualitative and historical methods, this paper compares the Sultanates of Mataram in Yogyakarta and Al-Kadrie in Pontianak, which represent different historical paths supporting the struggle for independence during the mid-20th century. Sultan Hamid II of the Al-Kadrie was a supporter of federalism whereas Sultan Hamengkubowono IX of Yogyakarta was an advocate of the republican system. Eventually, Indonesia became a Republic, and the idea of federalism was sidelined, which led to the abolition of sultanates in the rise of the = Indonesian nation-state, except for the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. After the 1998 Reform, the current development of democracy created political opportunities for the Al-Kadrie to reclaim its authority through engagement with various civic organizations. Meanwhile, the Sultanate of Yogyakarta faces internal friction because of succession concerns.

The tibial nerve is a branch of the sciatic nerve, which innervates the legs and feet. Anatomical variations of this nerve at the ankle are commonly found. The variation of the tibial nerve in its branching point and cross-sectional area (CSA) at the ankle is commonly related to clinical condition such as foot neuropathy. Knowledge of these variations can support the clinician in making appropriate clinical decisions. This review aims at providing knowledge on the anatomical variations of tibial nerve at ankle, as well as its clinical correlation. This review outlined the variation of the terminal branching point and CSA of the tibial nerve at the ankle in cadaveric and clinical studies.
