합성 PC 구조 접합부공사의 생산성 향상을 위한 철근배근 도구 개발 기초연구 (A basic study of reinforcement tools development for Productivity Improvement of Composite PC connection work)

  • Green frame is combined by structural steel and reinforcements of Green column and beam and unified by cast-in-place concrete. However, when upper reinforcements penetrate structural steel hole, the execution is difficult due to interference of joint and a rib of deformed reinforcements. Therefore, the objective of this study is to propose the reinforcement tools to improve productivity of precast structure connection construction. The reinforcement tools proposed in this study can be helpful to improve constructability, safety, duration, and cost comparing with conventional reinforcement method since unskilled workers can deal with reinforcements easily.

  • Generally, a lot of reinforcements are used in nuclear power plant concrete structures in order to improve the structural safety, but it may cause several potential problems due to the overcrowded reinforcement, such as the degradation of concrete quality, the construction delay and the increase of construction cost. In order to resolve these problems, structural test researches and code change studies on using high-strength reinforcement (Gr.80) in unclear power plant structures are under way, and there is good progress in code change of ASM BPVC.III.2 and ACI 349. This purpose of this study is to review the code change status ASM BPVC.III.2, ACI 349 under way to use the high-strength reinforcement in nuclear power plant structures. Also I will introduce the design optimization of NPP structures with high-strength reinforcements in order to maximize the effect and minimize the problem when using the high-strength reinforcements in NPP structures.

Strut-and-tie model for shear capacity of corroded reinforced concrete columns

  • An analytical model is developed in this paper to predict the shear capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) columns with corroded transverse reinforcements. The shear strength model for corroded RC columns is proposed based on modifying the existing strut-and-tie model, which considers the deformational compatibility between truss and arch mechanisms. The contributions to the shear strength from both truss and arch mechanisms are incorporated in the proposed model. The effects of corrosion level of transverse reinforcements are considered in the proposed model through the minimum residual cross-sectional area of transverse reinforcements and the reduction of concrete compressive strength for the cover area. The shear strengths calculated from the developed model are compared with the experimental results from Vu's study (2017), which consisted of RC columns with corroded transverse reinforcements showing shear failure under the cyclic loading. The comparison results indicate satisfactory correlations. Parametric studies are conducted based on the developed shear strength model to explore the effects of column axial loading, aspect ratios, transverse reinforcements and the corrosion levels in transverse reinforcements to the shear strength of RC columns with corroded transverse reinforcements.

Performance of headed FRP bar reinforced concrete Beam-Column Joint

  • Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bars have now been widely adopted as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcements in infrastructure and civil industries worldwide due variety of merits. This paper presents a numerical methodology to investigate FRP bar-reinforced beam-column joint behavior under quasi-static loading. The proposed numerical model is validated with test results considering load-deflection behavior, damage pattern at beam-column joint, and strain variation in reinforcements, wherein the results are in agreement. The numerical model is subsequently employed for parametric investigation to enhance the end-span beam-column joint performance using different joint reinforcement systems. To reduce the manufacturing issue of bend in the FRP bar, the headed FRP bar is employed in a beam-column joint, and performance was investigated at different column axial loads. Headed bar-reinforced beam-column joints show better performance as compared to beam-column joints having an L-bar in terms of concrete damage, load-carrying capacity, and joint shear strength. The applicability and efficiency of FRP bars at different story heights have also been investigated with varying column axial loads.

  • 본 논문은 차량에 사용되는 B필러의 강화재를 기존의 스틸 소재에서 CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)와 GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics)로 대체하여 경량화하는 것이 목표다. 이를 위해서는 무게는 감소시키면서 기존 B필러를 대체할 수 있는 구조안정성을 확보해야 한다. 기존 B필러는 스틸 아우터(outer)를 포함하여 다양한 형상의 스틸 강화재로 구성되며, 이와 같은 스틸 강화재 중 2가지의 스틸 강화재를 복합재로 대체하고자 한다. 이와 같은 스틸 강화재는 강화재 각각을 따로 제작하여 용접을 통해 결합되지만, 복합재 강화재는 패치(patch) 형태의 CFRP와 리브(rib) 구조의 GFRP를 활용하여 압축과 사출 공정을 통해 한번에 제작된다. CFRP는 B필러의 고강도부에 부착되어 측면 하중에 저항하도록 하였으며, GFRP 리브는 위상 최적화(Topology optimization) 기법을 통해 비틀림과 측면 하중을 저항하도록 설계하였다. 구조해석을 통해 기존 스틸 강화재와 비교 분석을 수행하였고, 경량화율을 산출하였다.

행거로 보강된 스터드 접합부의 인장거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Tensile Behaviors of Stud Connection with Hanger)

  • 본 논문은 스터드를 사용한 철근콘크리트 부재와 철골 부재의 접합부의 인장거동에 관한 연구를 나타내었다. 스터드 접합부의 인장 및 휨 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 행거를 스터드 주위에 설치하였다. 행거로 보강된 스터드 접합부의 인장 성능을 평가하기 위하여 철근비, 행거 상세, 묻힘길이 등을 변수로 한 8 개의 실험체를 계획하였다. 인장실험을 통하여 행거 보강이 접합부의 인장강도를 증가시키는데 매우 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다. 기준식에 의한 인장강도 평가로부터 CCD식이 강도 산정에 보다 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

보강재의 위치변화에 따른 코아구조물의 비틀림거동 (Torsional Behavior of Core Structures according to the Location of Reinforcement)

  • 이 논문에서는 여러개의 비틀림보강재를 갖는 코아구조물의 비틀림거동을 구하기 위한 매트릭스 해석방법을 제안하였다. 몇가지의 가정을 토대로 등분포와 삼각분포, 그리고 구조물 상단에 집중 비틀림하중이 작용하는 경우에 대한 응력과 변위식들을 유도하였으며 비틀림각과 응력을 최소화하기 위한 보강위치를 추정하기 위하여 보강재의 위치를 이동시켜 가변서 위치변화가 코아의 비틀림거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 본 이론해석의 신뢰성을 고찰하기 위하여 비틀림보강재가 설치된 해석모델틀을 토대로 본 이론에서 구한 응력과 변위를 MIDAS-GEN프로그램에 의한 결과와 비교하였고, 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었다. 비록 컴퓨터를 이용한 3차원해석이 일반적인 구조해석 방법으로 다가왔으나 비용과 시간이 많이 소요되므로 모든 경우에서 최적의 수단이 될 수는 없다. 본 연구에서 제시된 공식들은 초기 설계단계에서 비틀림하중을 받는 실제 코아구조물의 응력과 변위를 추정하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The shear behavior and reinforcement effects of simply supported reinforced concrete deep beams with web opening subject to concentrated loads have been scrutinized experimentally to verify the effects of structural parameters such as size, location and reinforcements of web opening. A total of 14 specimens were tested at the laboratory under two-point top loading. The shear span ratio was taken constantly 0.8, and various types of reinforcements based on truss models were adopted. In the tests, the effects of loction, reinforcements of web openings on the shear behavior, and crack initiation and propagation have been carefully checked and analyzed.

  • The shear behavior and strength of simply supported reinforced concrete deep beams with web opening subject to concentrated loads have been investigated experimentally on the effects of structural parameters such as location of web opening and reinforcements. A total of 12 specimens were tested at the laboratory under two-point top loading. The shear span-to-depth ratio was taken constantly 0.8, and various types of reinforcements based on truss models were adopted. In the tests, the effects of location, reinforcements of web openings on the shear behavior, and crack initiation and propagation have been carefully checked and analyzed. The test results have been compared with the formulas proposed currently being used and analyzed by nonlinear finite element method. Shear strengths obtained from the tests showed good matches with Kong and Ray's equation, and also with the results calculated by nonlinear finite element method.

Evaluation of Bamboo Reinforcements in Structural Concrete Member

  • This study is based on the use and performance of bamboo reinforcements in construction of low-cost structures. This study investigated the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo reinforcements. Bamboo reinforced concrete beam specimens were tested with different reinforcement ratios and observed the load capacity, deflection and failure patterns. It was observed that, flexural strength of bamboo reinforced column is sufficient higher than plain cement concrete and comparable to steel reinforced concrete beams. Bamboo reinforced concrete columns with different reinforcement ratio also tested and observed the ultimate compressive strength and failure pattern. It found, all columns failed in a similar pattern due to crushing of concrete. According to cost analysis, bamboo reinforced beams and columns with moderate reinforcement ratio showed the best strength-cost ratio among plain cement concrete and steel reinforced concrete.
