접지된 유전체 위의 주기적 스트립 격자구조에서 TE편파의 산란현상 (Scattering phenomena of TE polarization on a periodic strip grating over a grounded dielectric slab)

  • 접지된 유전체 슬랩 위에 주기적으로 스트립 격자가 놓여 있는 주기구조에서 TE 편파된 평면파에 대한 전자파 산란현상을 이론적으로 해석하였다. 제시된 구조를 이론적으로 해석하여 수치 해석한 결과인 유체층의 두께 변화에 대한 반사파 전력과 모드별 계수, 입사각의 변화에 대한 반사파 전력 및 스트립상에 유기되는 전류 등을 제시하였다. 그리고 제시된 구조에서 관찰되는 Bragg blazing 현상에 관해서 상세히 기술하였다.

RHC를 기반으로 하는 열간압연 루퍼 제어 (RHC based Looper Control for Hot Strip Mill)

  • In this paper, a new looper controller is proposed to minimize the tension variation of a strip in the hot strip finishing mill. The proposed control technology is based on a receding horizon control (RHC) to satisfy the constraints on the control input/state variables. The finite terminal weighting matrix is used instead of the terminal equality constraint. The closed loop stability of the RHC for the looper system is analyzed to guarantee the monotonicity of the optimal cost. Furthermore, the RHC is combined with a 4SID(Subspace-based State Space System Identification) model identifier to improve the robustness for the parameter variation and the disturbance of an actuator. As a result, it is shown through a computer simulation that the proposed control scheme satisfies the given constraints on the control inputs and states: roll speed, looper current, unit tension, and looper angle. The control scheme also diminishes the tension variation for the parameter variation and the disturbance as well.

Vibration and stability analyses of thick anisotropic composite plates by finite strip method

  • In the present study, a finite strip method for the vibration and stability analyses of anisotropic laminated composite plates is developed according to the higher-order shear deformation theory. This theory accounts for the parabolic distribution of the transverse shear strains through the thickness of the plate and for zero transverse shear stresses on the plate surfaces. In comparison with the finite strip method based on the first-order shear deformation theory, the present method gives improved results for very thick plates while using approximately the same number of degrees of freedom. It also eliminates the need for shear correction factors in calculating the transverse shear stiffness. A number of numerical examples are presented to show the effect of aspect ratio, length-to-thickness ratio, number of plies, fibre orientation and stacking sequence on the natural frequencies and critical buckling loads of simply supported rectangular cross-ply and arbitrary angle-ply composite laminates.

연속식 용융아연도금 공정에서 단부 과도금 현상을 방지하기 위한 하향 대칭 분류유동 연구 (A Downwardly Deflected Symmetric Jet to prevent Edge Overcoating in Continuous Hot-Dip Galvanizing)

  • In this study, a noble method is proposed to prevent the edge overcoating (EOC) that may develop near the edge of the steel strip in the gas wiping process of continuous hot-dip galvanizing. In our past study (Trans. of the KSME (B), Vol. 27, No. 8, pp. $1105\~1113$), it was found that EOC is caused by the alternating vortices which are generated by the collision of two opposed jets in the region outside the steel strip. When the two opposed jets collide at an angle much less than $180^{o}$, non-alternating stable vortices are established symmetrically outside the steel strip, which lead to nearly uniform pressure on the strip surface. In order to deflect both jets downward by a certain angle, a cylinder with small diameter is installed tangentially to the exit of the lower lip of the two-dimensional jet. In order to find an optimum cylinder diameter, the three dimensional flow field is analysed numerically by using the commercial code, STAR-CD. And the coating thickness is calculated by using an integral analysis method to solve the boundary layer momentum equation. In order to compare the present noble method with the conventional baffle plate method to prevent the EOC, the flow field with a baffle plate is also calculated. The calculation results show that the tangentially installed cylinder at the bottom lip of the jet exit is more effective than the baffle plate to prevent EOC.

저항띠의 양 끝에서 0으로 변하는 저항률을 갖는 주기격자에 의한 E-분극 반사계수 (E-Polarized Reflection Coefficient by a Tapered Resistive Strip Grating with Zero Resistivity at Strip-Edges)

  • 저항띠의 양끝에서 0( /square)으로 변하는 저항율을 가진 저항띠의 적자구조에 비스듬히 입사하는 E분극 평면파에 의한 전자파 산람눙제를 과수영역에서 모멘트 법을 이용하여 해석하였따. 이때 저항띠에 유도되는 전류일도는 2종 Chebyshev 다항식의 급수로 전개하였다 전개계수들은 과수영역에서 수치계산하였고, 본 논문에서의 변하는 저항율을 갖는 경우와 기존의 균일 저항율을 갖는 경우에 대해 기하광학적 반사계수의 수치계산 결과를 비교하였다. 그리고 기하광학적 반사계수의 크기에서 급변점들이 위치는 입사각과 스트립 주기를 변화시킴으로써 이동시킬 수 있었다. 이러한 급변점들은 전파모드와 감쇠모드 사이서 고차모드가 천이될 때 발생함을 알 수 있었다.

설계점 및 탈설계점에서의 rotor-stator 상호작용에 의한 비정상 천이 경계층의 수치해석적 연구 (Unsteady Transitional Boundary Layer due to Rotor Stator Interaction at Design and Off Design Operations)

  • The unsteady transitional boundary layer due to rotor-stator interaction was studied at two operation points, the design and one off design points. The off design point leads to lower blade loading and lower Reynolds number. A Navier-Stokes code developed in the previous study was parallelized to expedite computations. A low Reynolds number turbulence model was used to close the momentum equations. All computations show good agreement with experimental data. The wake induced transitional strip on the suction side of the stator is clearly captured at design point operation. There is no noticeable change in shape and phase angle of the wake induced strip even in the laminar sublayer. The wake induced transitional strip at off design point shows more complex structure. The wake induced transitional strip is observed only in the turbulent layer, and becomes obscure in the laminar sublayer and buffer layer. This behavior is probably consequent upon that the transition is governed by both wake induced strip and natural transition mechanism by Tollmien-Schlichting wave.

형상제어를 위한 새로운 보강롤의 개발 (Development of New Back-Up Roll for Strip Shape Control)

  • Most of shape defects in steel strip are originated from the structure of rolling mill itself. For instance, strip crown occurs when the work roll is deformed by the bending moment induced on roll chocks. To get rids of the shape defects, it is necessary to increase the stiffness of rolling mill. The structure change of back-up roll is one of alternative ways to increase the mill stiffness without facility revamping from 4 high mill to 6 high mill. In this research work, the new back-up roll was developed and can be used in any type of 4 high mill to reduce the strip shape defects. The developed back-up roll consists of sleeve, arbor and phase angle adjusting system for arbor. The circumference of arbor is specially machined to adapt the strip width change during rolling. The experimental cold rolling test was done to prove the effectiveness of newly developed back-up roll. The experimental rolling results show that the new back-up roll has more powerful performance in reducing the shape defects than conventional back-up roll. It was also found that the new back-up roll has higher stability for shape control. In addition to, the only sleeve surface needs to be reground and changed in most cases, so that the maintenance cost can be greatly reduced.

완전도체 스트립 회절격자에 의한 E-분극 반사계수의 급속한 수염해 (The Fast Convergent Solution of E-Polarized Reflection Coefficient by a Perfect Conductor Strip Grating)

  • 완전도체 스트립 회절격자에 의한 E-분극 산문제를 모멘트법을 이용하여 해석하였다. E분극의 경우는 청도 되는 표면전류밀도가 모서리 양 끝에서 매우 높을 것으로 추측된다. 이때 스트립에 청도되는 표면전류밀도는 차수가 0인 Ultraspherical 다항식의 급수와 적절한 모서리 경계조건을 만족하는 함수의 곱의 급수로 전개하였다. 전류밀도와 반사계수에 대한수직결과를 기존의 다른 수틀과 비교하였다. 본 논문의 수치결과가 기존의 다른 수를 사용했을 때 보다 기하학적 반사계수의 경도가 매우 빠르게 향상됨을 보였다. 기하학적 반사계수에서의 급변점 위치는 입사각, 스트립 폭 및 스트립 주기를 변화시킴으로써 이동시킬 수 있었다.

  • 횡하중을 받는 고층건물에서의 인장역이 형성될 때 강판전단벽의 앵글 변화한다. 본 연구에서는 강판전단벽을 갖는 3층, 9층, 14층 및 20층의 4개 구조물에 대한 유한요소해석 연구를 하였다. 유한요소해석 결과와 각 모델들의 이론식으로 계산된 결과를 비교하여 전단변형 모드와 휨변형 모드로 분류하였다. 전단변형 모드의 모델에서는 주응력 벡터가 일정한 경사각을 이루며 인장역을 발생시킨 반면 휨변형 모델에서는 인장역의 변화는 기존의 이론식과 차이를 보였다.

병렬구조 신 압연기의 최적설계 : 조작성 및 제어성능의 최대화 (Optimal Design of a New Rolling Mill Based upon Stewart Platform Manipulator : Maximization of Kinematic Manipulability)

  • A kinematic and dynamic optimal design of a new parallel-type rolling mill based upon Stewart platform manipulator is investigated. To provide sufficient degrees-of-freedom in the rolling process and the structural stability of each stand, a parallel manipulator with six legs is considered. The objective of this new parallel-type rolling mill is to permit an integrated control of the strip thickness, strip shape, pair crossing angle, uniform wear of the rolls, and tension of the strip. By splitting the weighted Jacobian matrices Into two parts, the linear velocity, angular velocity, force, and moment transmissivities are analyzed. A manipulability measure, the ratio of the manipulability ellipsoid volume and the condition number of a split Jacobian matrix, is defined. Two kinematic parameters, the radius of the base and the angle between two neighboring Joints, are optimally designed by maximizing the global manipulability measure in the entire workspace. The maximum force needed in the hydraulic actuator is also calculated using the structure determined through the kinematic analysis and the Plucker coordinates. Simulation results are provided.
