Bending moments results from offset overloading of dental implant, which may cause stress concentrations to exceed the physiological capacity of cortical bone and lead to various kinds of mechanical failures. The purpose of this study was to compare the distributing pattern of stress on the finite element models with the different angulated placement of dental implant in mandibular posterior missing areas. The three kinds of finite element model, were designed according to 3 main configurations: Model 1(parallel typed placement of 2 fixtures), Model 2(15. distal angulated placement of one fixture on second molar area), Model 3(15. mesial angulated placement of one fixture on second molar area). The cemented crowns for mandibular first and second molars were made on the two fixtures (4mm 11.5). Three-dimensional finite element models by two fixtures were constructed with the components of the implant and surrounding bone. A 200N vertical static load were applied to the center of central fossa and the point 2mm apart from the center of central fossa on each model. The preprocessing, solving and postprocessing procedures were done by using FEM analysis software NISA/DISPLAY IV Version 10.0((Engineering Mechanics Research Corporation, USA). Von Mises stresses were evaluated and compared in the supporting bone, fixtures, and abutment. The results were as following : (1) Under the point loading at the central fossa, the direction of angulated fixture affected the stress pattern of implants. (2) Under the offset loading, the position of loading affected more on the stress concentration of implants compare to the angulated direction of implants. The results had a tendency to increase the stress on the supporting bone, fixture and screw under the offset loads when the placement angulation of implant fixture is placed toward mesial or distal direction. In designing of the occlusal scheme for angulated placement, placing the occlusal contacts axially during chewing appears to have advantages in a biomechanical viewpoint.
This study is performed to determine factors related to occupational stress among some hospital administrative staff. It surveyed 189 staff working in Jeonbuk area during the period from June 1st to July 31th, 2014. The structured self-administered questionaires were delivered and they were collected without respondents' personal information. The results of multiple regression analysis show the followings. The occupational stress of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group of female, a group that the type A behavior pattern is higher, a group that chance locus of control is higher, a group that external locus of control is lower, a group of the lower self esteem, a group of higher psycho-social stress, and a group of higher depression. Their explanatory power was 55.8%. In conclusion, the results of the study indicate that the efforts, to manage the type A behavior pattern and belief of control, to increase self esteem, and to decrease psycho-social stress and depression level, are required to reduce the occupational stress of the hospital administrative staff.
The Present study was performed to evaluate the stress distribution patterns of bone tissues around two Branemark implant fixtures with varying lengths. Six models were used with the combination of 10mm, 7mm, 5mm Branemark implant fixture analogs. The load distribution characteristics of surrounding bone tissues were observed under 64kg vertical static loading on central part of fixed bridge using 2 dimensional photoelastic technique. Through observing the pattern of stress distribution around the implant fixtures, I got the results as follow : 1. Stress distribution pattern of model I(10mm, 10mm) was best among those of six models. 2. When two fixtures were in equal length, stress was increased in proportion to the reduction of implant surface area. 3. When two fixtures were in unequal length, stress was concentrated on the neck portion of the shorter one.

Since dishing in the CMP process is a major factor that hinders the uniformity of the semiconductor thin film, many studies have focused this issue to improve the non-uniformity of the film due to dishing. In the metal layer, the dishing mainly occurs in the central part of the metal due to a difference in a selection ratio between the metal and the dielectric, thereby generating a step on the surface of the metal layer. Factors that cause dishing include the shape of the thin film, the chemical reaction of the slurry, thermal deformation, and the rotational speed of the pad and head, and dishing occurs due to complex interactions between them. This study analyzed the stress generated on the metal layer surface in the CMP process using ANSYS software, a commercial structure analysis program. The stress caused by the vertical load applied from the pad was analyzed by changing the area density and line width of the dummy metal. As a result of the analysis, the stress in the active region decreased as the pattern density and line width of the dummy metal increased, and it was verified that it was valid compared with the previous study that studied the dishing according to the dummy pattern density and line width of the metal layer. In conclusion, it was confirmed that there is a relationship between dishing and normal stress.
This study aims at analyzing the extent of seafarers' perception on their stress and ways to cope with the stress and providing fundamental data for establishing on the stress management of seafarers. In this paper 428 seafarers, who were in the fire-fighting and survival technique training course in Korea Institute of Maritime and fisheries Technology, were sampled and asked to fill out two kinds of questionnaire. One is a questionnaire on seafarers' stress perception and the other is that on the measure of their coping with stress. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA by SPSS 10.1 package. The results of this study are as follow. 1) There were significant differences of stress perception in navigation area, marital status, amount of smoking, frequency of drinking, exercise, sleep pattern, sleeping hours, leisure time, and job satisfaction 2) There were significant differences of method coping with stress in current position, navigation area, age, ship career, level of education, marital status, yearly income, frequency of drinking, amount of drinking, exercise, sleep pattern, and job satisfaction 3) The relation between stress perception and ways of coping with stress showed that the group with higher stress perception tended to use emotion-focused coping style and desirable thinking.
Molecular dynamics simulations of nanoimprint lithography NIL) are performed in order to investigate effects of process parameters, such as stamp shape, imprinting temperature and adhesive energy, on nanoimprint lithography process and pattern transfer. The simulation model consists of an amorphous $SiO_{2}$ stamp with line pattern, an amorphous poly-(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) film and an Si substrate under periodic boundary condition in horizontal direction to represent a real NIL process imprinting long line patterns. The pattern transfer behavior and its related phenomena are investigated by analyzing polymer deformation characteristics, stress distribution and imprinting force. In addition, their dependency on the process parameters are also discussed by varying stamp pattern shapes, adhesive energy between stamp and polymer film, and imprinting temperature. Simulation results indicate that triangular pattern has advantages of low imprinting force, small elastic recovery after separation, and low pattern failure. Adhesive energy between surface is found to be critical to successful pattern transfer without pattern failure. Finally, high imprinting temperature above glass transition temperature reduces the imprinting force.

An analytical scheme for predicting the crack aspect pattern of materials which contain twin surface cracks was developed. Fatigue tests were performed on twin surface cracked PMMA plate specimens to obtain the interaction factor accounting for the interference effect of adjacent cracks. Here, the interaction factor is defined as the ratio of the stress intensity factor for twin surface cracks to that for a single surface crack. From the analysis of the fatigue test result, the interaction factor was presented as the ninth-order polynomial expression having a function of dimensionless crack spacing ratio. Then the polynomial expression was incorporated into the prediction program of the crack aspect pattern for twin surface cracked materials. And, the interaction effect and the coalescence condition of adjacent cracks were simplified in the newly developed prediction scheme of the crack aspect pattern. The predicted crack growth pattern using the prediction scheme was compared with test data from PMMA specimen. The predicted pattern agreed well with the test data.

In this study for the development of a 3D pattern mill, we designed its layout which has high stiffness and low-weight structure. We calculated the load of each axis component when 3D pattern mill is under the worst cutting conditions. On base of the calculations, we determined the size of its structure and selected main components of the machine. Also, using FEM we analyzed the layout design of 3D pattern mill to reduce the wcight of structure and increase stiffness of it. According to the load position and direction, shapes and values of the deformation and the stress distributions are calculated, also we calculated the natural frequencies and mode shapes in order ta modify and redesign the weak parts
Corrugated board is an efficient low-cost structure material fur the boxes that are widely used for transporting, storing and distributing goods. Corrugated board is also considered as an orthotropic because the principal material directions are the same as in paperboard. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the principal design parameters of ventilating box through the FEA on the various types of ventilating hole. From the viewpoint of the stress distribution and stress level, the optimum pattern and location of the ventilating hole were vertically oblong, and symmetry position with a short distance to the right and left from the center of front and rear panel. And, the optimum location and pattern of hand hole were a short distance to the top from the center of both side panels, and modified shape to increase the radius of curvature of both side in horizontal oblong. In general, the optimum pattern and location of both the ventilating hole and hand hole based on the FEM analysis were well verified by experimental investigation. It is suggested that decrease in compressive strength of the box could be minimized in the same ventilating hole area under the condition of the length of major axis of ventilating hole is less than 1/4 of box length, the ratio of minor axis/major axis is 113.5∼l/2.5, and number of the ventilating holes is even and symmetrical.
In this study, an equivalent boundary conditions (BCs) determination method is developed numerically for a panel reinforced concrete (RC) slab to realistically analyze the deformation and fatigue behaviors of a bridge RC slab. For this purpose, a finite element analysis of a bridge RC slab is carried out beforehand to calculate the stiffness of the bridge RC slab, and then the equivalent BCs for the panel RC slab are determined to achieve the same stiffness at the BCs to the obtained stiffness of the bridge RC slab at the corresponding locations of the bridge RC slab. Moreover, for the simulation of fatigue behaviors, fatigue analysis of the panel RC slab is carried out employing a finite element method based on a numerical model that considers the bridging stress degradation. Both the determined equivalent BCs and the BCs that have been typically applied in past studies are employed. The analysis results confirm that, in contrast to the panel RC slab with typically used BCs, the panel RC slab with equivalent BCs simulate the same bending moment distribution and deformation behaviors of the bridge RC slab. Furthermore, the equivalent BCs reproduce the extensive grid crack pattern in the panel RC slab, which is alike the pattern normally witnessed in a bridge RC slab. Conclusively, the panel RC slab with equivalent BCs behaves identical to the bridge RC slab, and, as a result, it shows more realistic fatigue behaviors observed in the bridge RC slab.
