기후변동에 대한 한국 하천유량의 탄력성 (Climate Elasticity of Korean Streamflows)

  • 본 연구에서는 강수량과 기온의 변동에 따른 국내 하천유량의 민감도를 평가하였다. 8개상류 다목적댐 유입량과 기후자료를 이용하여 기후가 유출량 변화에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 결과적으로 연유출량의 변화는 강수의 변화에 크게 영향을 받았지만 강수량이 평년에 비해 적고 기온이 높은 연도에서는 기온이 낮은 연도에 비해 연유출량이 더 크게 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 유출변화 특성은 한국의 수자원이 지구온난화로 인한 기온증가 상황에서 가뭄피해에 더 취약해질 가능성을 보여주었다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 공간적인 기후탄력성을 평가하기 위해 109개 중권역에 PRMS 모형을 적용하고 이 결과를 이용하여 기후탄력성을 평가하였다. 국내의 기후탄력성은 1.5~1.9로, 강수가 +20% 증가할 경우 연유출량은 +30~+38% 정도 증가되는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The spectroscopic properties of quercetin (QCT) were studied in the AOT reverse micelle by fluorescence spectroscopy. Because the molecular structure of QCT is completely planar, excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) occurs between the -OH at C(5) and carbonyl oxygen via intramolecular hydrogen bonding. This ESIPT happens at the $S_1$ state but not at the $S_2$ state. Because QCT is a good donor-acceptor-conjugated molecule at the excited state, this molecule can emit strong fluorescence but shows no $S_1{\rightarrow}S_o$ emission due to this ESIPT. Since the $S_2{\rightarrow}S_1$ internal conversion was very slow due to the small Franck-Condon factors, $S_2{\rightarrow}S_o$ fluorescence emission was observed. All of the experimental results indicated that the QCT resided at the bound water interface and that the position of solute did not change significantly in the micelle at various water concentrations.

Ethidium monoazide (EMA) - PCR 법을 이용한 비배양성 생존 상태(VBNC)의 Edwardsiella tarda 검출 (Differentiations between the viable but nonculturable (VBNC) or dead state of Edwardsiella tarda by ethidium monoazide (EMA) treatment-PCR)

  • Edwardsiella tarda predominantly causes edwardsiellosis in fish at high temperature, but is rarely isolated from water when water temperature is low. However, E. tarda is viable but nonculturable (VBNC) in low water temperature, but it can be revived when water temperature rises and cause disease to fish. Therefore, in order to prevent disease, it is very important to identify pathogens that are in the VBNC state in environmental water. In this study, E. tarda cells in the VBNC state were detected by the ethidium monoazide (EMA)-PCR method using the low-temperature oligotrophic sea water microcosm obtained by inoculation of E. tarda at a concentration of $10^8CFU/ml$. In order to distinguish between live and dead bacteria in E. tarda, each sample was treated with EMA at different concentrations, photoactivated with a 500 W halogen lamp, and PCR was performed with E. tarda specific primer. At the concentration of $10^7CFU/ml$ bacterium, DNA amplification was observed only in the live cells when treated with $60{\mu}g/ml$ of EMA, and smaller amounts of live cells could be distinguished from dead cells by adjusting the EMA concentration. In addition, the VBNC cells of E. tarda in the oligotrophic low temperature seawater microcosm were estimated to be in the range of $10^4{\sim}10^5CFU/ml$ by EMA-PCR. Therefore, it is possible to detect VBNC cells that will act as potential pathogens in environmental water using EMA-PCR method, and quantitative confirmation using concentration change is also possible.

저수위 변동에 영향을 받는 강기슭의 산사태 해석 I (Landslide Analysis of River Bank Affected by Water Level Fluctuation I)

  • 저수지의 수위변화는 저수지 주변 강기슭 사면파괴의 주요 요인이다. 중국의 삼협댐 저수위는 홍수량 조절을 위해 145m와 175m사이에서 변화한다. 삼협댐 저수위의 정상적 운영상태에서 저수위 변동속도는 0.67m~3.0m의 범위에 있다. 마지아고 사면은 자시강의 2.1km 상류 좌측기슭에 위치한다. 자시강은 삼협지역내에 있는 양츠강의 지류이다. 2003년 저수위가 95m에서 135m로 상승한 직후, 마지아고 사면의 후면부에서 길이 20m, 폭 3~10의 균열이 발생하였다. 지금은 균열 보수 후 특별한 징후는 보이지 않고는 있으나, 이 큰 균열은 마지아고 사면의 산사태 가능성을 암시하고 있었다. 이 연구에서는 저수위 변화와 관련하여 사면내에서 간극수압의 변화를 모의하기 위해 불포화 및 포화 침투해석이 수행되었다. 얻어진 간극수압은 저수위에 따른 안전율 변화를 평가하기 위해 사용되었다. 연구결과 침윤선은 저수위 변화보다 상당히 지연된 반응을 보였고, 저수위의 상승-하강과정에서 침윤선은 각각 요면과 철면의 형상을 나타내었다. 또한 저수위의 변동은 사면의 전면부에만 영향을 미치고 있었고 후면부에는 영향을 미치지 않았다.

Intrinsic UV Reflection and Fluorescence Studies for Water Sorption in Polycarbonate, Polyurethane and Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate) Films

  • Intrinsic UV reflection and fluorescence behaviors of polycarbonate, polyurethane and poly(ethylene terephthalate) films were investigated in order to characterize the interaction of water in these films. During water sorption process, UV reflection spectra of polycarbonate and polyurethane films showed little peak position changes. Fluorescence emission spectra of polycarbonate films showed red spectral shifts from 332 nm with water immersion time. This red-shifted peak could be due to phenyl-2-phenoxybenzoate, which is one of the major thermal degradation products in polycarbonate. Fluorescence peaks of polyurethane films appeared at two different positions and the ratio of these peak intensities increased with increasing immersion time. In the case of PET films, the UV reflection spectrum showed the peak intensity around 340 nm to change in response to water sorption. The fluorescence near 388 nm probably due to ground state dimer exhibited sensitivity with water sorption, when excited at 340 nm.

  • In this study a process simulation method was used to analyze the accumulation phenomena of anionic starch in the process white water as the closure level of a fine paper making process is increased. A pilot paper machine was used as a model process. Dynamic simulations of the influence of white water usage ratio and uncoated broke addition ratio on the variation of process variable was monitored as a function of time. Results from the dynamic simulations showed that the volume of reservoirs affected the dynamic behavior of the process. The dynamic behavior of flow rate and dissolved starch concentration in process units were different from each other. The speed of the change of dissolved starch concentration in process units was depend on the starting point of the change of dissolved starch concentration, the length of circulation loop, and the volume of reservoirs.

습윤준설토와 노건조준설토의 약품처리 후 공학적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Engineering Characteristics of Wet Dredged Soil and Dry Dredged Soil after Chemical Treatment)

  • 자연상태의 퇴적물과 준설과정을 거친 준설토 사이에는 퇴적물이 안정상태에서 교란되기 때문에 수질의 탁도가 좋지 않으며, 다시 침강 시 체적변화가 발생한다. 이에 수질의 탁도를 좋게하고 준설토의 부유물질의 침강을 촉진하기 위하여 투입되는 응결제 및 응집제의 양에 따라 준설토는 다양한 특징을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 자연상태의 습윤준설토와 노건조준설토에 약품회사 A, B, C사의 약품투입량에 따른 준설토의 부유물질(SS)측정, 체적변화 및 침강속도의 특성분석을 파악하고자 연구를 수행하였다. 실험 결과 습윤준설토와 노건조준설토의 약품량이 많을수록 부유물질(SS)측정은 낮아지고, 체적변화율은 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있으며, 침강속도는 빨라지는 경향을 보였다. 또한 습윤준설토와 노건조준설토의 약품량의 차이는 노건조준설토 경우 $100{\pm}5^{\circ}C$에서 건조시키기 때문에 유기물 및 미생물이 소멸하여 적은 양으로도 약품에 민감한 반응을 보이는 것으로 판단된다.

불포화토의 거동예측을 위한 구성식 개발(I) -불포화토의 거동특성 연구- (Development of Constitutive Model for the Prediction of Behaviour of Unsaturated Soil(I) -Study of Characteristics of Unsaturated Soil-)

  • The aim of the work descrihed in this paper is to study a characteristics of an unsaturated soil for the different matric suctions. To this end, a series of suction controlled isotropic and triaxial compression tests is conducted on silty sands. Matric suction is controlled by the axis translation technique using high air entry ceramic disk. Total volume change, air and water volume changes are measured by the device made for the experiment. The specimens are compacted using a half of Proctor compaction energy and with the water contents of 5% drier than the optimum moisture contents. Isotropic compression and triaxial compression tests are conducted on the specimen at each equilibrium state of matric suction. From test results, volume changes and deviator stresses are analyzed at each state and their relationships are formulated.

Theoretical Studies on the Gas-Phase Wolff Rearrangement of Ketocarbenes

  • The substituent effects in the gas-phase rearrangement of carbenes to ketenes involved in the Wolff reaction have been investigated theoretically using the AM1 method. In the initial state, carbene, there is a relatively strong vicinal n-σ* interaction between the lone pair (n) and carbonyl group (σ*). In the bridged transition state (TS), electronic charge is transferred from the migrating ring (Z-ring) toward the nonmigrating ring (Y-ring). The carbenes are stabilized by an electron donor Y (δσY < 0) whereas the TS is stabilized by an electron acceptor Y (δσY > 0). Multiple regression analysis of log (kYZ/kHH)(=-δΔG≠/2.3RT) leads to a relatively large negative cross-interaction constant, ρYZ=-0.53, log (kYZ/kHH)=2.96 σY--1.40 σZ-0.53 σY-σZ reflecting an extensive structural change in the transition state due to the stabilization of the initial state by the vicinal n-σ* overlap. When the solvent (water) effects are accounted for by the SM2.1 model of the Cramer and Truhlar method, the magnitude of all the selectivity parameters, ρY-, ρZ and ρYZ (=-0.66) are increased.

Solvolyses of N-Methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl Chlorides with Electron Acceptor Substituents in A Queous Binary Mixtures

  • Solvolyses of N-methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl chlorides in aqueous binary mixtures of acetone, ethanol, methanol and in water, D2O, and 50% D2O-CH3OD are investigated at 25.0 $^{\circ}C.$ The Grunwald-Winstein plots of first-ord er rate constants for N-methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl chlorides with YCl (based on 2-adamantyl chloride) show a dispersion phenomenon. The ring parameter (I) has been shown to give considerable improvement when it is added as an hI term to the original Grunwald-Winstein and extended Grunwald-Winstein correlations for the solvolyses of N-methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl chlorides. This study has shown that the magnitude of l, m and h values associated with a change of solvent composition is able to predict the dissociative SN2 transition state. The kinetic solvent isotope effects determined in deuterated water are consistent with the proposed mechanism of the general base catalyzed and/or a dissociative SN2 mechanism channel for N-methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl chlorides solvolyses.
