  • The purpose of this study is to propose the direction for identification of artistically gifted children by considering the methods of it as a part of the basic study for artistically gifted children education. The result of study on the identification of artistically gifted children in literature, the identification methods are classified into the formal standardized art test, the informal test, and non-test measure. And they are considered and discussed laying importance on their characteristics and problems.

  • As a mass transportation system, a railway contains potential risks that may result in a high death rate and property losses. Accordingly, Railroad Safety Technology R&D Corps. is adopting the plan of the construction of Railway Safety Test Facilities as a part of the Railway Total Safety Project to enhance the railway safety, and carrying out researches on effective project management methods with Systems Engineering techniques. When a system or a service is realized, such as the Railway Total Safety Project, it needs to be verified by requirements and the process of verification is to check whether customers/stakeholders requirements have been properly transformed into a system or a service. Recently, building the standardized verification system up could be the solution to reduce possible system-failed risks. To support that, we propose the more effectual verification method of constructing the Railway Safety Test Facilities applying the systems engineering tool to the research.

Validation of the Revised Class Play Scale for the Assessment of the Quality of Peer Relations (또래관계의 질 평가를 위한 RCP(Revised Class Play)의 타당화 연구)

  • The Revised Classroom Play(RCP) scale was validated for Korean 4th grade students. 104 boys and 80 girls took the translated RCP. Test-retest reliability was established with 41 children after 2 months, and test of criterion-related validation was established by the Social Behavior Scale administered to 71 children. All raw scores were standardized by classroom and sex to adjust for differences in the number of nominators and nominatees. The structure of the RCP resulted in 3 factors, 'sociability-disruptive' and 'shy-isolated', with 28 items similar to the original RCP 3 factors. For criterion-related validity, the correlations between the 3 factors of the RCP and the 3 factors of the Social Behavior Scale were positive. For internal consistencies, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of the RCP factors ranged from .77 to .94. Test-retest reliability coefficients ranged from .33 to .51. Analyses of variance revealed good item discrepancies for all 28 items. These results confirm the RCP as a valid and reliable measure of the quality of peer relations.

  • Generally, the owners of the facilities adopt CP(Cathodic Protection) Systems to protect the corrosion accidents previously. The developed countries have secured the standard of CP systems through the various researches and consolidation of the rules. So in the first stage. I had been studied the international standards; JSCE, NACE Standard, ASTM, DNV, Australian Standard etc. and standardized the CP systems about items performance. specifications and so on. In this thesis, I have been studying the results of standardization of performance test methods of CP rectifier to apply in Korea.

  • In this thesis. we estimated the good reliability coefficient ${\beta}$$\sub$k/ that is unbiased, consistent and more efficient than Cronbach's ${\alpha}$$\sub$k/ in splitting of a test into several formats of subtests and several properties of ${\beta}$$\sub$k/ are also represented. The tables of coefficients of skewness and kurtosis are represented to test the significance of departures from normality. We got the cumulative normal plots of z'from the distribution which is departed from normality using the Bock's approximation procedure and we finally enumerated the transformed standardized scores z'and a new raw score X' which enable us to proceed further evaluation procedures depending on our assessment policy.

  • Although important developments have taken place since ESOPT 1974 both with respect to the test method as well as the interpretation of the results, many uncertainties still remain in the Standard Penetration Test(SPT). The main pitfall of SPT is that it has not been standardized differing from its terminology and further, the possibility of standardization is very low in practice. Therefore, lack of knowledge on the equipment and method of SPT tends to cause some errors in interpretation of the results. It Is especially important to understand this tendency in domestic design, because most foundations are designed based on SPT results only. Many researchers have made an effort to minimize the uncertainties of SPf in Korea, it is not cleary defined what the most effective method of execution and interpretation of SPT Some uncertainties which many geotechnical engineers encounter in practice are introduced to discuss about improvement of test procedure and interpretation.

Development of the Software to test Pattern Diagnosis Ability in Oriental Medicine (변증 능력 평가 소프트웨어의 구현)

  • Objectives : To qualify or enhance the diagnostic ability of students in Oriental Medicine, so called standardized patients are ideal modality, but because it's a man-based method, more convenient tools are required. Computer-based diagnostic ability test program gives effective way for the very purpose. So we made a pilot software evaluating Pattern Identification ability in Oriental Medicine. Methods and Materials : The pilot software was coded with Microsoft's EXCEL VBA. 87 names of Zheng (Symptom Pattern) and 674 names of symptom (including some signs) are adopted from the former standardization works conducted by Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) in 1996. Results : Compared with some manned modalities to test Pattern Identification ability, the test by this software shows superiority in convenience and objectivity. Conclusion : This software is world's first program to perform computer-based evaluation of Pattern Identification in Oriental Medicine, and it gives effective way to complement both written test and manned clinical performance test (CPX).

  • Fracture toughness of rock materials, which generally violate the fundamental assumptions of LEFM, often depends on the specimen size and test method employed. Hence, a standardized procedure for testing and data interpretation for determining fracture toughness of rock materials is required. Special attention has been given by the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) to the difficulties in obtaining true fracture mechanics parameters for the wide variety of rock materials.   • Particle Induce X-Ray Emission (PIXE) analysis is one of the most useful methods which can determine the elemental concentration of aerosol particles in nano-gram range. The main purpose of this paper is to establish the measurement system and the procedure of PIXE analysis. The standard samples were prepared to calibrate the PIXE analysis by three different techniques. The linear relationships between the peak counts from PIXE spectra and the mass density from RBS spectra were obtained for each standardized element under the applied measurment geometry and conditions. The sensitivity curves for PIXE analysis were determined from these relationships.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a method for synthetic performance and quality evaluation of dial up network modem in users place. In the past, universally recognized criteria have not been available to model switched network modem performance. Reasonable assurance of modem performance on the public switched telephone network by standardized test channel which is suggested by ELA(Electronic Industries Association). These tests of modem from a variety manufacturers more reflective of actual performance on the network.
