Background: This study evaluated occupational exposure levels of doxorubicin in healthcare workers performing rotational intraperitoneal pressurized aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) procedures. Methods: All samples were collected during PIPAC procedures applying doxorubicin to an experimental animal model (pigs). All procedures were applied to seven pigs, each for approximately 44 min. Surface samples (n = 51) were obtained from substances contaminating the PIPAC devices, surrounding objects, and protective equipment. Airborne samples were also collected around the operating table (n = 39). All samples were analyzed using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results: Among the surface samples, doxorubicin was detected in only five samples (9.8%) that were directly exposed to antineoplastic drug aerosols in the abdominal cavity originating from PIPAC devices. The telescopes showed concentrations of 0.48-5.44 ng/cm2 and the trocar showed 0.98 ng/cm2 in the region where the spraying nozzles were inserted. The syringe line connector showed a maximum concentration of 181.07 ng/cm2, following a leakage. Contamination was not detected on the surgeons' gloves or shoes. Objects surrounding the operating table, including tables, operating lights, entrance doors, and trocar holders, were found to be uncontaminated. All air samples collected at locations where healthcare workers performed procedures were found to be uncontaminated. Conclusions: Most air and surface samples were uncontaminated or showed very low doxorubicin concentrations during PIPAC procedures. However, there remains a potential for leakage, in which case dermal exposure may occur. Safety protocols related to leakage accidents, selection of appropriate protective equipment, and the use of disposable devices are necessary to prevent occupational exposure.

The present study investigates NOx-removal and sound-absorption performances of photocatalytic porous concrete prepared by various TiO2 application methods. Photocatalytic porous concrete samples were prepared by one of the following: 1) mechanically mixing TiO2 during casting; 2) mixing bottom ash aggregate pretreated with TiO2 during casting; and 3) spraying TiO2 solution to the normally fabricated porous concrete. The test results indicated that the mechanical mixing of TiO2 decreased the compressive strength as the added TiO2 content increased. The use of pretreated bottom ash aggregate reduced the porosity, yet the compressive strength of the concrete was similar to that measured from the former method. Porous concrete samples sprayed with the TiO2 solution exhibited enhanced compressive strength, while the porosity was analogous to those measured from other methods. The NOx-removal performance was the highest in the samples sprayed with the TiO2 solution, followed by the samples using pretreated bottom ash aggregate and mechanically mixed TiO2. The samples with mechanically mixed TiO2 identified a relationship between soundabsorption performance and porosity. However, no particular tendency was observable in the samples with other TiO2 application methods.
In order to provide fundamental data on utilization of dehumidifier in greenhouses, a condensing type dehumidifier using ground water as a coolant was developed and tested dehumidification performance. The developed dehumidifier was applied to greenhouse with fog cooling system and effect of dehumidification on improvement of evaporative cooling efficiency was analyzed. Results of the dehumidifier performance test showed that dehumidification using ground water as a coolant was sufficiently possible in fog cooling greenhouse. When the set point temperature of greenhouse cooling was $32^{\circ}C$ and as temperatures of ground water rose from $15^{\circ}C\;to\;18^{\circ}C,\;21^{\circ}C\;and\;24^{\circ}C$, dehumidification rates decreased by $17.7\%,\;35.4\%\;and\;52.8\%$, respectively. As flow rates of ground water reduced to $75\%\;and\;50\%$, dehumidification rates decreased by $12.1\%\;and\;30.5\%$, respectively. Cooling efficiency of greenhouse equipped with fog system was distinctly improved by artificial dehumidification. When the ventilation rate was 0.7 air exchanges per minute, dehumidification rates of the fog cooling greenhouse caused by natural ventilation were 53.9%-74.4% and they rose up to 75.4%-95.9% by operating the dehumidifier. In case of using the ground water of $18^{\circ}C$ and flow rate of design condition, it was analyzed that whole fog spraying water can be dehumidified even if the ventilation rate is 0.36 exchanges per minute. As a utilization of dehumidifier, it is possible to improve cooling efficiency of fog system in naturally ventilated greenhouses.

Despite recent efforts for fabricating flexible transparent conducting films (TCFs) with low resistance and high transmittance, several obstacles to meet the requirement of flexible displays still remain. Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films, which have been traditionally used as the TCFs, have a serious obstacle in TCFs applications. SWNTs are the most appropriate materials for conductive films for displays due to their excellent high mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. Recently, it has been demonstrated that acid treatment is an efficient method for surfactant removal. However, the treatment has been reported to destroy most SWNT. In this work, the fabrication by the spraying process of transparent SWNT films and reduction of its sheet resistance by Au-ionic doping treatment on PET substrates is researched. Arc-discharge SWNTs were dispersed in deionized water by adding sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as surfactant and sonicated, followed by the centrifugation. The dispersed SWNT was spray-coated on PET substrate and dried on a hotplate. When the spray process was terminated, the TCF was immersed into deionized water to remove the surfactant and then it was dried on hotplate. The TCF film was then was doped with Au-ionic doping treatment, rinsed with deionized water and dried. The surface morphology of TCF was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy. The sheet resistance and optical transmission properties of the TCF were measured with a four-point probe method and a UV-visible spectrometry, respectively. This was confirmed and discussed on the XPS and UPS studies. We show that 87 ${\Omega}/{\Box}$ sheet resistances with 81% transmittance at the wavelength of 550 nm. The changes in electrical and optical conductivity of SWNT film before and after Au-ionic doping treatments were discussed. The effects of hole transport interface layer using Au-ionic doping SWNT on the performance of organic solar cells were investigated.
The proper nozzle spacings have been tried to determined the better evenness of distribution on the development of the boom type nozzle system with three nozzles made in Korea-disk type, cap type and bolt type. The operating pressure has been changed in 7 levels ($2kg/cm^2-8kg/cm^2$) and the operating height in 3 levels (30, 40, 50cm) to find characteristics of deposit pattern and the proper spacing of each nozzle was examined and computed. The results of this study were as follows; 1. The CU(%) of the deposit distribution was improved with the operating pressure of $5kg/cm^2$ or $6kg/cm^2$ in Nozzle A with 80% and Nozzle C with 83%, and $7kg/cm^2$in Nozzle B with 80% 2. The better deposit distribution was got ten at operating height 40cm with CU 86% in Nozzle A, and 50cm in both Nozzle B, C with 80% 3. The spray deposit distribution was getting of improvement with decrease of nozzle spacing, nevertheless about half diameter of the spraying circle was recommended in regard to the cost and the work performance. 4. Improvement of quality of nozzles tested in this research may be required not to be less than their CU 90% in the use as boom-type nozzle system.

In this study, in order to improve the impact resistance of the B4C tile-inserted B4Cp/Al7075 hybrid composite, a control method of the B4C/Al7075 interface was developed and the characteristics of the controlled interface were analyzed. B2O3, Ni, and Si were coated on the B4C tile surface using additional thermal oxidation, electroless plating, and plasma spraying. The coated B4C tile is inserted into the B4Cp/Al7075 composite material using the liquid pressurization method. Interfacial energy, bonding strength, and impact resistance were measured to analyze the effect of the coating. All coatings enhanced interfacial energy, bonding strength, and impact resistance, and in particular, it was confirmed that the impact resistance increased by 86.8% when B2O3 coating was used. This study is significant in developing and analyzing a core surface treatment method that improves the performance of B4C/Al series composites, which are attracting attention as next-generation lightweight amour and bulletproof materials.
Out of plant-associated bacteria, certain plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) have been reported to increase plant growth and productivity and to elicit induced resistance against plant pathogens. In this study, our objective was to broaden the range of applications of leaf-colonizing PGPB for foliar parts of road tress and pepper. Total 1,056 isolates of endospore-forming bacteria from tree phylloplanes were collected and evaluated for the enzymatic activities including protease, lipase, and chitinase and antifungal capacities against two fungal pathogens, Colletotrichum graminicola and Botrytis cinerea. Fourteen isolates classified as members of the bacilli group displayed the capacity to colonize pepper leaves after spraying inoculation. Three strains, 5B6, 8D4, and 8G12, and the mixtures were employed to evaluate growth promotion, yield increase and defence responses under field condition. Additionally, foliar application of bacterial preparation was applied to the road tress in Yuseong, Daejeon, South Korea, resulted in increase of chlorophyll contents and leaf thickness, compared with non-treated control. The foliar application of microbial preparation reduced brown shot-hole disease of Prunus serrulata L. and advanced leaf abscission in Ginkgo biloba L. Collectively, our results suggest that leaf-colonizing bacteria provide potential microbial agents to increase the performance of woody plants such as tree and pepper through spray application.
This research was carried out to propose the Korean method for estimating the agricultural occupational pesticide exposure level in orchard. The UK-POEM (UK-Predictive Operator Exposure Model) was proposed as a bench-marking model and analysed its performance properties. To extrapolate the Korean agricultural conditions, application equipment, application method, work rate per day, application volume and spraying time of pesticide was surveyed for Korean 204 orchard farmhouse. This survey indicate that the major application equipments are speed sprayer(64.9%) and motor sprayer(33.9%). When they spayed the pesticide with a speed sprayer, they worked for more than 4 hours on area of 4 ha per day. In case of using motor sprayer, they worked for more than 4 hours on area of 1 ha. Based on the above survey result, Korean method for estimating the pesticide exposure level of agricultural worker was proposed finally.
The main purpose of this study is to develop a sprayed FRP repair and strengthening method, which is a new technique for strengthening the existing concrete structures by mixing one of the carbon or glass chopped fibers and one of the epoxy or vinyl ester resins with high-speed compressed air in open air and randomly spraying the mixture onto the concrete surface. At present, the sprayed FRP repair and strengthening method using the epoxy resin has not been fully discussed. In order to investigate the material property of the sprayed FRP, this study carried out tensile tests of the material specimens, which were changed with the combinations of various variables including the length of chopped fiber and the mixture ratio of chopped fiber and resin. These variables were set to have the equal material strength, compared with that of one layer of the FRP sheet. As a result, the optimal length of glass and carbon chopped fibers was fumed out to be 38 mm, and the optimal mixture ratio between chopped fiber and resin was also turned out to be 1 : 2 from each variable. And also, the thickness of the sprayed FRP to have the equal strength to one layer of the FRP sheet was finally calculated. In is study, a series of experiments were carried out to evaluate the strengthening effects of flexural beams, shear beams and damaged beams strengthened with the sprayed FRP method, respectively. The results revealed that the strengthening effects of the flexural and shear specimens were reasonably similar to those of the FRP sheet, and the developed Sprayed FRP technique is able to be used as a strengthening scheme of existing RC building.
Maintenance of an optimal air quality in the enclosed pig building is potentially important in terms of pig performance and farmer health. The objective of this on-site experiment is to evaluate and compare efficiencies of currently utilized biological additives to reduce odor emissions from the enclosed pig building. As a result, generally all the additives except for salt water, artificial spice and essential oil were proved ineffective in reducing odor generation. The beneficial effects of salt water, artificial spice and essential oil on odor reduction were highlighted on ammonia, odor intensity and offensiveness, and sulfuric odorous compounds, respectively. To efficiently utilize odor masking agent such as the artificial spice, ventilation rate should keep slightly lower than the optimal level. Essential oil functioned well as not only masking agent but also antimicrobial agent for reducing odor. To precisely quantify odor concentration, it should be measured by not the odor sensor but the olfactometry technique.
