  • The paper is devoted to problem of spline approximation. A new method of nodes location for curves and surfaces computer construction in multidimensional spaces by means of B-splines is presented. The criteria are which links a square-mean error caused by high frequency spline distortions and approximation intervals is determined and necessary theorem is proved. In this method use a theory of entire multidimensional spectra and may be extended for the spaces of three, four and more variables. Future work: application area such as digital contents like animation, game graphic.

  • In order to utilize a parallel machine tool for CAM system, the development of adequate interpolator is necessary. This paper presents a quintic B-spline interpolator with algorithm of limiting maximum interpolation error. The favored property of near arc-length parametrization in the curve representation is used in the implementation of the reference command generation. Then, this interpolator is applied to cubic parallel manipulator to show its validity.

  • 본 연구는 Form Parameter를 만족하는 선형 생성 과정을 최적화 과정으로 취급하였다. 목적함수는 fairness 기준을 도입하고 설계변수는 B-spline 곡선의 조정점으로 하며 제약조건은 설계자에 의해서 주어지는 기하학적 형상으로 하였다. 최적화 방법은 GA(Genetic Algorithm)와 최적성 기준(optimality criteria)을 병행하였다.

  • B-spline function is generally used for an image interpolation because of its smoothness and continuity, but it accompanies a large amount of blurring effect. In this paper, a space-variant B-spline interpolation function is proposed through deblurring process followed by de-aliasing process. The proposed function has parametric expression and performs smoothing and edge-enhancement adaptively in the interpolation process according to local property of the image. Application of this function to image enlargement, rotation, and curve representation producted good results. Even in the presence of noise, noise smoothing effect as well as edge-enhancement were observed in the image interpolation process.

  • Hull form generation and variation methods to be mainly discussed in this study are based on the fairness optimized B-Spline form parameter curves (FOBFC). These curves can be used both as indirect modification function for variation and as geometric entities for hull form generation. The flexibility and functionality of geometric control technique play the most important role for the success of hull form optimization. This study shows the hydrodynamic optimization process and the characteristics of optimum design hull forms of a 14,000TEU containership and 60K LPG carrier. SHIPFLOW has been used as a CFD solver and FS-Framework as a geometric modeler and optimizer.

  • LCB 타블렛과 타블렛 PC 등과 같은 펜-입력 디스플레이는 CAD에서, 특히, 컨셉트 디자인 단계에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는, 이런 장치들을 대상으로 하는 CAD 시스템에서 사용될 수 있는 직관적인 B-Spline 수정 방법을 제안한다. 컨트롤 포인트를 기반으로 하는 B-Spline 수정 방법과는 달리, 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 곡선이나 곡면의 최종적인 모양을 결정하는데 사용자의 펜 입력을 이용한다. 이전에 방법에서 컨트롤 포인트나 조작자(manipulator)를 이용했던 것에 비해 원하는 모양을 만들어 가는 데 소요되는 시간을 줄여준다. 이런 과정은 디자인을 하는데 있어서 지금까지는 피할 수 없는 것처럼 여겨져 왔다. 본 논문에서 제시된 방법의 용이성을 검증하기 위하여 여러 명의 디자이너들과 함께 실험을 수행한 결과를 보여준다.

  • 영상을 통한 차선검출은 지능형 주행보조장치의 향상을 위해 필수적인 작업이다. 이 논문에서는 차선의 에지를 Canny 방법을 사용하여 생성한다. Canny 방법은 환경 상태에 따라 결과가 달라진다. 노면 상태가 분명함의 여부에 따라 잘못된 차선 검출을 할 수 있다. 그래서 안전한 에지 검출을 위해 에지 검출시 파라미터를 자동 조절하여 환경 변화에 강인한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 획득한 에지 검출을 기반으로 Catmull Rom spline 을 사용하여 스플라인으로 차선을 생성한다.

  • 3차원 자유형상 물체인 선형의 정의에는 여러 방법이 있으나 선형의 기하학적 특징을 나타내는 형상계수들의 조합으로 선형을 표현하는 형상계수방법이 전산기의 이용과 함께 주목받고 있다. 그러나 종래의 형상계수방법은 실제 선형 설계시 여러가지 문제점을 노정시킴으로 본 논문에서는 자유형상 물체의 수학적 표현에 매우 적합한 B-spline곡선과 형상계수 방법을 접목시켜 선형생성을 시도했다. 응용예로서 Bulk carrier선형을 표현한 결과를 보였으며, 기존선형과 도출선형을 비교하여 본 연구의 실용 가능성을 검토했다.

기어류 부품의 단조에 관한 상계해석 (Upper Bound Analysis on the Forging of Gear-Like Components)

  • This paper describes the method that can construct kinematically admissible velocity fields for forging of gear-like components which have tooth shape around the cylinder. The kinematically admissible velo- city fields for the various gear-like components, involute spur gear, trapezoidal spline, square spline, ser- ration and trochoidal gear, were constructed by pilling up the velocity components according to the shape of tooth and billet. The billets, of hollow and solid, were Al 2218 and 2024. To verify the method, the analyses and experiments were carried out and compared with each other. For analyses, the half pitches of com- ponents were divided into several deformation regions based on their tooth profile. A neutral surface was used to represent the inner flow of material during forging. Its location varied with the energy optimazation and its contour varied with the number of teeth. In experiment, the contour of material filling up the tooth zone is hyperbolic curve caused by the frictional drag on the interface of die-wall/workpiece but, in the analysis, it is an arc which retains the same contour during all forging operation.

Splines via Computer Programming

  • Traditionally, polynomials have been used to approximte functions with prescribed values at a number of points(called the knots) on a given interal on the real line. The method of splines recently developed is more flexible. It approximates a function in a piece-wise fashion, by means of a different polynomial in each subinterval. The cubic spline gas ets origins in beam theory. It possessed continuous first and second deriatives at the knots and is characterised by a minimum curvature property which es rdlated to the physical feature of minimum potential energy of the supported beam. Translated into mathematical terms, this means that between successive knots the approximation yields a third-order polynomial sith its first derivatives continuous at the knots. The minimum curvature property holds good for each subinterval as well as for the whole region of approximation This means that the integral of the square of the second derivative over the entire interval, and also over each subinterval, es to be minimized. Thus, the task of determining the spline lffers itself as a textbook problem in discrete computer programming, since the integral of ghe square of the second derivative can be obviously recognized as the criterion function whicg gas to be minimized. Starting with the initial value of the function and assuming an initial solpe of the curve, the minimum norm property of the curvature makes sequential decision of the slope at successive knots (points) feasible. It is the aim of this paper to derive the cubic spline by the methods of computer programming and show that the results which is computed the all the alues in each subinterval of the spline approximations.
