First Report of Heterodermia squamulosa (Lichenized Ascomycota, Physciaceae) in South Korea

  • Heterodermia squamulosa (Degel.) W.L. Culb. was found in the mountain of Gariwang, Gangwon province, in 2008. It is characterized by numerous squamules along the margin, decorticate and white lower surface, rhizines along the margin, black and densely squarrosely branched, usually forming a dense mat under the thallus. Apothecia margins densely squamulose, ascospores $12\sim15\times25\sim30{\mu}m$. Atranorin and zeorin contained in thallus. This is the first record of this species in South Korea.

  • Carbon diffusion of ultra low carbon steel treated at $880^{\circ}C$ and $930^{\circ}C$ for 10, 30, 60 and 120 minutes was investigated using optical microscopy, SAM, EPMA, and Micro Vickers. The martensite patterns of the specimens treated at $880^{\circ}C$ and $930^{\circ}C$ were different. Martensite in the ferrite region was found in the specimen treated at $880^{\circ}C$ because of grain boundary diffusion. Such phenomena is explained by a carbon diffusion model.

  • In this study, a mortar was prepared using Rhodobacter capsulatus which is forming glycocalyx and immersed in a simulated sewage environment. As a result of the experiment, it was observed that bacteria continued to grow in the mortar immersed in the simulated sewage environment, and it was confirmed that glycocalyx was formed by bacteria on the surface of mortar specimen.

Ti-6Al-4V 고강도 볼트 성형 기술 개발 (Hot Forging Process of High Strength Ti-6Al-4V Bolt)

  • Since fastener bolt for airplane require high specific strength and corrosion resistance, Ti-6Al-4V alloy is widely used. However, the Ti-6Al-4V bolt is generally manufactured by cutting and rolling because of their poor workability. The aim of present work is to develop hot forming technology for high strength Ti-6Al-4V. Various heat-treatments were applied to specimen in order to increase hot-workability and prevent galling with die Multiple forging were simulated with FE code to determine optimum process parameters including specimen temperature, strain rate, local strain, and thermal shrinkage. Forged samples were heat-treated again to increase their mechanical properties.

랍석분쇄물의 충전성이 그 소결성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Packing Characteristics on the sintering Propertiesof Pyrophyllite)

  • Three kinds of specimen, consisting of the graded pyrophyllite particles alone, a substituent of 8 percent fire clay for the finer portion ($F_2$) of it, and 0.8 percent inorganic binder-added composite were prepared under the following conditions respectively; moisture content=4.5~5.0%, forming pressure=250kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and sintering temperature=1, 000~1, 30$0^{\circ}C$. The various properties such as modulus of rupture, apparent porosity, bulk specific gravity, pore size and pore distributiion were measured in order to collaborate with sintering phenomena. The results obtained are as follows: (1) Apparent porosity isgradually decreased with rising the sintering temperature to 1, 25$0^{\circ}C$. (2) The binder-added specimen showed the lowest value in porosity. (3) The optimum sintering temperature of specimens was considered to be 1, 25$0^{\circ}C$. (4) The wider differences between pore volumes of specimens could be obtained by method of mercurypenetration porosimeter than by the conventional method for porosity.

  • This study describes a new maskless nano-fabrication technique of Si (100) using the combination of nanometer-scale mechanical forming by nano-indenter XP and KOH wet etching. First the surface of a Si (100) specimen was machined by using the nano-machining system, which utilizes the mechanism of the nano-indenter XP. Next, the specimen was etched by KOH solution. After the etching process, the convex structure or deeper hole is made because of masking or promotion effect of the affected layer generated by nano-machining. On the basis of this interesting fact, some sample structures were fabricated.

  • In this study, the ellipsoidal cap type magnetic pole structure was proposed for the electro-magnet in B-H curve tracer. From the simulation for the electro-magnet without specimen, the area of effective uniform field(99% range for the central field value) was considerably increased in case of the newly proposed ellipsoidal cap type magnetic pole than that of the conventional simple-inclined cap type magnetic pole. Also, through the simulation for the electro-magnet with permanent magnet specimen(NaFe30), the optimal Positions of the magnetic field measurement sensor(Hall sensor) were found out in each case and the errors were decreased in case of the newly proposed ellipsoidal cap type magnetic pole.

  • In order to estimate spatial charging process in the corona charging which has been used to make polymer electret, the electrical properties of polypropylene film were obtained from Thermally Stimulated Current(TSC) measurements after corona charging between knife electrode and cylinder electrode with the voltages of -5, -6, -7 and -8[kV], respectively. And then the electrostatic contour and the electric field vector were also simulated by using Finite Element Method(FEM). The edge effect around edge of knife electrode affected the electrostatic contour on surface of specimen and the electric field concentration inside specimen. The uneven charging state in the electret due to the mistake on design could be calculated and so the optimal design of corona charging device which is appropriate to various materials is come to be practicable.

EPFT 강관기둥으로 보강된 콘크리트 기둥의 내진성능실험 (Seismic Performance Test of Concrete Column Reinforced with EPFT)

  • Unlike the CFT retrofit method, The EPFT retrofit method, which fills the steel tube with engineering plastic, does not require a separate concrete forming work and is a lightweight seismic Retrofit Method. In this study, an prototype model of the EPFT was proposed, and to analyze the seismic performance, an independent specimens and a reinforced concrete column were fabricated to conduct a seismic performance test. As a result of loading test of the independent specimens, the strength was increased compared to the steel tube column without internal filling, and the ductility ratio did not significantly increase due to the falling off of the weld. As a result of loading test of the concrete reinforcement specimen, the strength, ductility ratio, and energy dissipation were increased, and the number of cracks by loading step decreased compared to the non-reinforced specimen.
