A Study on the Acceleration Durability Test of In-Wheel Drive Gearbox for Military Special Vehicles (군 특수차량용 인휠 드라이브 기어박스의 가속 내구성시험에 관한 연구)

  • The in-wheel drive gearbox for military special vehicles converts the high-speed & low-torque output generated by the electric servomotor, into low-speed & high-torque mechanical power. As the vehicle is remotely maneuvered in mountainous terrain, wet fields, rough terrain, etc., the gearbox must generate a maximum input speed exceeding 5,000 rpm, a maximum torque of 245 Nm, and MTBF of 9,600 km. The purpose of this study was to analyze the failure mode of the gearbox, to ensure the durability of the in-wheel drive gearbox. Also, the field load test data of the vehicle was analyzed, the acceleration durability test standards were established, the acceleration durability test was conducted, and the durability test results were analyzed as well.

  • A graphic vehicle modeling pre-processing program and a visualization post-processing program have been developed for AutoDyn7, which is a special program for vehicle dynamics. The Rapid-App for GUI(Graphic User Interface) builder and the Open Inventor for 3D graphic library have been employed to develop these programs in Silicon Graphics workstation. A Graphic User Interface program integrates vehicle modeling pre-processor, AutoDyn7 analysis processor, and visualization post-processor. In vehicle modeling pre-processor, vehicle hard point data for a suspension model are automatically converted into multibody vehicle system data. An interactive graphics capabilities provides suspension modeling aides to verify user input data interactively. In visualization post-processor, vehicle virtual test simulation results are animated with virtual testing environments.

  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) is a special type of vehicle ad-hoc network (VANET), and known as a solution to provide communication among vehicles and reduce vehicle accidents. Geographical routing protocols as Greedy Perimeter Sateless Routing (GPSR) are very suitable for the V2V communication due to special characters of highway and device for vehicles. However, the GPSR has problem that appears local maximum by some stale neighbor nodes in the greedy mode of the GPSR. It can lose transmission data in recovery mode, even if the problem is can be solved by the recovery mode of the GPSR. We therefore propose a Greedy Perimeter Reliable Routing (GPRR), can provide more reliable data transmission, to resolve the GPSR problem in the V2V environment. Simulation results using ns-2 shown that the GPRR reveals much better performance than the GPSR by remarkably reducing the local maximum rate in the greedy mode.

  • Day after day the information of vehicle under the complex traffic environments is greatly required not only for traffic flow but also for vehicle disclosure of traffic violation, Vehicle information can be obtained from a recognition of vehicle license plate, This paper proposes a new vehicle plate recognition mechanism that uses moving style vehicle-loaded camera, The method is a real-time processing system using multi-step image processing and recognition process that recognizes general vehicles and special purpose vehicles, The experimental results of real environmental image and recognition using the proposed method are shown.

Comparative study on the cable stayed bridge under moving load state (이동하중을 받는 사장교의 거동비교)

  • Cable-stayed bridges are bridges with long spans for special purposes. Due to the long span, the dynamic response of the vehicle to the moving load is very special. The behavior also has nonlinear, which makes it difficult to design. In this study, the responses of cable - stayed bridges are considered considering various vehicle loads and the behavior of long - span bridges under moving loads is investigated. Especially, when the loads for one direction and for both directions move with speed, the behavior of the bridges is found to be due to the flexibility of the cable. It can be seen that the analysis including the dynamic behavior of the cable and the top plate is more effective because the influence of the vehicle load tends to amplify the vertical deformation together with the vibration of the cable.

  • Two methods are applied to the problem of trajectory optimization for launch vehicles which burn solid propellant. One is 'Optimal Control' theory, the other is 'NonLinear Programming' method. Trajectory optimization for solid rocket motors has a special problem. The special problem is that the payload of launch vehicle is not the function of control variable. This paper deals with this special problem.

  • This paper analyze the dynamic characteristics of Automated Guided Vehicle(AGV) which is being developed as a part of automation in port through DADS, one of the multi-dynamic analysis program, Previous evaluation of a vehicle is carried out through the continuous driving test of a real vehicle, however this method raise the loss of finance and time. If it is possible to analyze the dynamic characteristics of vehicle before construction completely we can compensate the loss of money and time during constructing. AGV contained containers is very heavy and its center of gravity can be easily changed with the disturbance from road or cornering. It makes AGV unsatisfied, therefore we evaluate the handling characteristics and stability of the full vehicle model. This paper contribute to establish the foundation of the development of a new system like a AGV which have a special structure.

  • Last year, the Autonomous Vehicle Act was enacted to respond to deployment of autonomous vehicles. But the Act stipulates the operation of autonomous vehicle pilot zones, In addition, in order to analyze autonomous vehicle accidents and establish a reasonable damage compensation system, the Automobile Damage Compensation Guarantee Act was revised. But, It is necessary to seek plans for institutional development such as detailed concepts of self-driving cars and driving, a security certification system for securing safety of autonomous cooperative driving, and enhancement of the effectiveness of special cases related to personal information processing. I would like to seek ways to improve the legal system to respond reasonably to the deployment of autonomous vehicles.

  • This paper proposes an accelerated life evaluation of drive shaft for the power train parts of special purpose vehicle. It is necessary the real load data of usage level driving load condition for life evaluation of power train parts, but we can't get the load spectrum data for evaluation in many case of special purpose vehicle. So, in this paper, the road load spectrum data for evaluation is created by modeling and simulation based on vehicle data and special road condition. The inverse power model is used for accelerated life test. The equivalent torque of load spectrum is achieved using the Miner's Rule. This paper also proposes the calibrated acceleration life test method for drive shaft. The fatigue test is performed through three stress levels. The lifetime at normal stress level is predicted by extrapolation, and is verified through comparison of experimental results and load spectrum data.
