Organisms living in the Arctic and Antarctic regions are exposed to strong constraints, of which temperature is a driving factor. Evolution has led to special adaptations, some with important implications at the biochemical, physiological, and molecular levels. The northern and southern polar oceans have very different characteristics. Tectonic and oceanographic events have played a key role in delimiting the two polar ecosystems and influencing evolution. Antarctica has been isolated and cold longer than the Arctic; its ice sheet developed at least 10 million years earlier. As an intermediate system, the Arctic is a connection between the more extreme, simpler Antarctic system and the very complex temperate and tropical systems. By studying the molecular bases of cold adaptation in polar fish, and taking advantage of the information available on hemoglobin structure and function, we analysed the evolutionary history of the ${\alpha}\;and\;{\beta}globins$ of Antarctic and Arctic hemoglobin using the molecular clock hypothesis as a basis for reconstructing the phylogenetic relationships among species.

We propose a robot museum, "ROSIEUM," based on a new concept of museum. Roles of a new concept based museum are being investigated. We also propose a classification scheme for robot contents as museum's collections. This scheme for collecting and displaying robot contents includes the first robots, the delegate robots, the robots with special meanings, the robot experiences and the robot events. Also, types of robot contents are described. Key ideas and scenario for "ROSIEUM" have been presented. Operations of "ROSIEUM" are designed and implemented.

Protection martial arts are neither the ability to protect oneself nor the exercise to increase the personal record. Their aim is to protect clients for the sake of their safety, Therefore, it needs special training course distinguished form general martial arts. Those who perform the duty of protection should make efforts to master every skill capable of meeting any situations in which unforeseen accidents may occur. So the coaches of protection martial arts should teach their disciples basic techniques by stages according to each martial art. They also should teach them systematically how to deal with each accidental affair on the ground of protection method. With teaching the way to cope with a crisis coaches might make the disciples feel real by presenting the real situation of different events to which protection arts can be applicable. And a mock exercise with a careful plan and enough practices as well as a mental training to all evaluate the anxiety which might be shown on duty could be helpful for educating elite personnel who will perform the duty of protection completely.

The purpose of this study was to investigate its characteristics of the spatial compositions at several kindergartens in Daegu area. Through this, the study is intended to provide the basic data of the efficient building planning and facility operations in the kindergarten. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Recently, the spatial compositions of kindergarten was classified as education, educational aids, educational support, teacher / administration, and public service area. 2) The concept of special classroom space was set up in all the surveyed facilities. This space was used for small-scale events, meals, and game features. 3) Support staff, including teachers, are insufficient for the service space. 4) The size of total land area of the facility's public service area was affecting. 5) The Lobby and aisle space of the surveyed facilities was used as a multipurpose space. 6) In response to diverse educational content, the direction to plan should be seperated by multi-space.

During assembling the ship block, the lifting and turnover events are not only inevitable but also very important for safety aspects and block accuracy. However, they have been executed in empirical ways rather than numerical ways in consideration of the building schedule. In this paper, a structural analysis has been carried out for the container ship side block that collapsed in the course turnover stage. As a result, the causes of collapse and countermeasure plans are presented.

Risk assessment of a railway system should be periodically conducted managing a large amount of accumulating accident/incident data and scenarios, which generally requires enormous time and efforts. Therefore, special information management system is essential for railway risk assessment, where data needed for decisions on managing the railway safety could be promptly supported. The objective of this study is to develop a railway accident analysis program for risk assessment. The program is application running on the web which links railway accident analysts throughout the railway industry to a central database. Data entered, together with associated code tables. is stored on MS-SQL database. The program uses the concepts of accident, safety events, causes, related factors(vehicle, person, infrastructure, tool/equipment), recommendations to bring together the various elements of railway accidents. The program will be useful in finding hazard conditions, accident scenarios, quantitatively assessing the risk, and providing pertinent risk measures, eventually serving to prevent railway accidents and reduce severities of railway accidents.

Volunteering has important insight for tourism, especially in the context of special events and festivals. In particular, local festival relies heavily upon volunteers because a large number of individuals are often necessary for creating and delivering various services. Therefore, understand the link between motivation and satisfaction will help festival managers to make appropriate decision in the selection and recruitment of volunteers. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of motivations on individual's volunteer satisfaction. Data were gathered from 183 individuals that volunteered for the 2018 Gokseong Festival and finally 154 samples were used for the empirical analysis. According to the results, motivation factor analysis showed that intrinsic motivation is a main volunteer motivation to participate in the festival. This research concludes with the proposed conceptual framework that discusses the categories of motivational factors and also volunteers' satisfaction. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed in more detail.

The year 2021 is a significant year in which the Korean Journal of Aerospace and Environmental Medicine (KJAsEM) celebrates its 30th anniversary. Therefore, in this review, we look back on the history and development of KJAsEM and suggest the direction we should go forward. In particular, the recent development of KJAsEM was described in more detail, such as opening the KJAsEM journal homepage, an online submission system, and adopting an open access policy.

The purpose of this study is to understand consumer awareness and preference regarding rice cakes by surveying the awareness, preference, and consumption behavior of college students regarding rice cakes, and to survey their perception and usage of rice cakes, thereby using the results as basic data to establish measures to develop Korea's rice cakes. To sum up the study's results, the survey included both male (54.5%) and female (45.5%) subjects. Those aged "20 to 23" accounted for the largest share (67.9%) of total respondents, and those majoring in "humanities and social studies" comprised the largest portion (47.8%). A majority of the respondents resided in "small and medium-sized cities", and most either lived at home or lived away from their families. A majority of the subjects received monthly allowances ranging from 200,000 to 300,000 won. In order of awareness, the most well-known type of rice cake was "injeolmi (rice cake made from glutinous rice and coated with bean flour)", followed by "songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cake)", "garaeddeok (bar rice cake)", and "baekseolgi (steamed white rice cake)". The women were better aware of "injeolmi", "baekseolgi", and "garaeddeok" than the men, and "soemeoriddeok" was not commonly known among either gender. In terms of preferences for rice cakes, overall, the subjects liked "injeolmi" and "songpyeon" the most. However, certain differences were found in preferences for rice cakes between the men and women. The women exhibited higher levels of preference for "injeolmi" and "songpyeon" than the men. On the other hand, the men revealed higher levels of preference for "baekseolgi", "jeolpyeon", and "garaeddeok" than the women. The most common answer to important factors for popularizing rice cakes was "a diverse assortment of rice cakes", followed by "the development of creative technologies" and "the taste of rice cakes reflecting consumer needs", in order of importance. Among the important factors to popularize rice cakes, "the development of unique packaging containers for rice cakes" (p<0.05) and "the development of proper packaging materials" (p<0.05) showed statistically significant differences. In the survey of consumption of rice cakes, the most frequent answer to the question "why do you like rice cakes? was "their tastes are good" with 146 respondents, followed by "I have been eating them for long" with 115 respondents. To the question "when do you use rice cakes", the most frequent answer was "I use them in daily life" with 133 respondents, followed by "I use them at special events" with 115 respondents. The women were found to use rice cakes frequently in daily life, whereas the men used them frequently at special events. When asked whether they had the intention to use rice cakes as a meal substitute, 100 men answered that they had no intention, whereas 96 women answered that they had the intention. When asked about the type of rice cake considered suitable for a meal substitute, the most popular answer was "injeolmi" with 108 respondents, followed by "baekseolgi" with 106 respondents.

Korea's trading volume is expected to surpass USD 1 trillion in 2011. Korean economy achieves this largely due to its dependence on export and enhanced technological capacity and product quality. Improved recognition of Korean enterprises in the global arena also helped. However, the largest reason behind theses could be found in exporters' ceaseless marketing endeavors and continued government supports. Today, more and more people become to rely on trade exhibitions to boost export effectively. Trade exhibitions are employed as a useful tool to attract buyers and enter a market. This is because such exhibitions' marketing effect and professional aspects. South Korean export relies on large conglomerates for most part. However, 95% of the country's entire industry are small and medium-sized companies. This means that SMEs' export has a huge impact on the national economy. Therefore, as a way to improve SME export and minimize their losses, we need to use trade exhibitions more actively. The overseas policy insures only promotional activities regarding foreign exhibition and fair (including international events held in Korea), foreign distributor, shopping mall, home shopping, etc. and does not include air fare, traffic cost in the local place, accommodation cost and dining expenditures as costs to be excluded mentioned above. It is not easy for them to take part in events abroad if they have to pay for such expenses. If full financial support is difficult, the Korea trade insurance corporation still may give a certain level of aid for successful exporters to engage in marketing activities abroad more actively and further stimulate SMEs' export.
