  • Road traffic noise is closely related with urban forms and urban components, such as population, building, traffic and land-use, etc. Hence, it is possible to minimize the noise exposure problem depending on how to plan new town or urban planning alteration. This paper provides ways to apply for urban planning in consideration of noise exposure through road traffic noise estimation for alteration of small-scale urban form. Spatial autoregressive model from the former study is used as statistical model for noise simulation. The simulation results by the spatial statistical model are compared with those by the engineering program-based modeling for 5 scenarios of small-scale urban form alteration. The error from the limitation of containing informations inside the grid cell and the difficulties of reflecting acoustic phenomena exists. Nevertheless, in the stage of preliminary design, the use of the statistical models that have been estimated well could be useful in time and economically.

  • In this paper, we propose an integrated techniques for managing data quality in traffic data warehousing environments. We describe how to collect and construct the traffic data warehouses from the operational databases, such as FTMS and ARTIS. We explain how to configure the traffic data warehouses efficiently. Also, we propose a quality management techniques to provide high quality traffic data for various analytical transactions. Proposed techniques can contribute in providing high quality traffic data to the traffic related users and researcher, thus reducing data preprocessing and evaluation cost.

  • Since traffic accidents account for the highest proportion of the artificial disasters which occur in urban areas along with fire, more scientific an analysis on the causes of traffic accidents and various prevention measures against traffic accidents are needed. In this study, the research selected Jinju-si, which belongs to local small and medium-sized cities as a research target to analyze the characteristics of temporal and spacial distribution of traffic accidents by associating the data of traffic accidents, occurred in 2013 with the causes of traffic accidents and location information that includes occurrence time and seasonal features. It subsequently examines the spatial correlation between traffic accidents and the characteristics of urban space development according to the plans of land using. As a result, the characteristics of accident distribution according to the types of accidents reveal that side right-angle collisions (car versus car) and pedestrian-crossing accident (car versus man) showed the highest clustering in the density analysis and average nearest neighbor analysis. In particular, traffic accidents occurred the most on roads which connect urban central commercial areas, high-density residential areas, and industrial areas. In addition, human damage in damage conditions, clear day in weather condition, dry condition in the road condition, and three-way intersection in the road way showed the highest clustering.

  • To construct road spatial information database, it is the main object of this study that an analysis of road factors and furthermore this is used to the rescue activities in case of urban disasters. When urban disasters such as earthquake or explosion cause fire and collapses people of the affected region happen to evacuate. But only to manage roads and monitor traffic volume, the road data is designed and managed using digital topographic map so it is short that the design of road spatial data to prevent disasters. In this study, we tried to suggest the evaluative factors of evacuation to design database : road width, traffic volume, the fixed or movable obstacles installed, the surrounding environments that dominate the land-use planning, the uses, materials, structures, sizes, and densities of the buildings. Thus, these could provide fundamental data to determine the disasters management planning for evacuation and rescue activities, to evaluate the riskiness, and to draw up hazard information map.

  • Space Syntax methodology can be quantitatively calculated spatial cognitive analysis by number of turns_ In the existing GIS-based spatial information service provide 'physical distance' due to the shortest distance as a priority. but pedestrians tends to choose the path with concerned a lot of emphasis of safety, more vitality way from the crime at night, traffic accidents, and comfort on a road. Human's 'psychological distance' may reflect the spatial information services and provided path should be. In this study, using GIS Road Data implements the axial map with idea of the linear simplification principles. Traditional axial map of the Space Syntax get the assumption from the actual traffic values by comparing the results of correlation relationship. Through these methods, the actual relationship between traffic and test values have the correlation value($R^2$= 0.5387) 50% level and was able to get the results.

  • One of the most challenging and encouraging applications of state-of-the-art technology is the field of traffic control systems. It combines techniques from the areas of telecommunications and computer science to establish traffic information and various assistance services. The support of the system requires a moving objects database system (MODB) that stores moving objects efficiently and performs spatial or temporal queries with time conditions. In this paper, we propose schemes to distribute an index nodes of trajectory based on spatio-temporal proximity and the characteristics of moving objects. The scheme predicts the extendible MBB of nodes of index through the prediction of moving object, and creates a parallel trajectory index. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed schemes give us the performance improvement by 15%. This result makes an improvement of performance by 50% per one disk.

  • This paper presents a GIS-based method of spatial analysis that can be applied to the line determination in traffic infrastructure project . It is based on the spatial analysis of the sensitivity or suitability of areas relating to the integration of new infrastructure routes, carefully considering the requirement of intervention optimizing . It makes the comparison of alternatives and a final selection of a"best route " easier, offers new possibilities and simplifies and accelerates the whole process of line determination. The developed method for route-alignment is tried out by an example project for road planing in Germany. It point out that during the line determination all aspects can be equivalently and adequately evaluated. So this method is well suited as a new tool within a line determination procedure and can bring enormous advantages in the planning process of traffic infrastructure projects. projects.

  • Recently car navigation systems which have been widely spread and evolved. The systems use various information and techniques such as real time traffic information and augmented reality technique. In order to provide a shortest path with good flow, real-time traffic information provided by DMB is required. Augmented reality technique is also introduced to give a reality to driver by displaying real images captured by camera during driving. However, these operate well when the system receives GPS data normally. Exact information about the positions of vehicles is a base that supports the above function with realities. This paper proposes a model for acquiring exact position of vehicles. When the GPS does not operate normally, the proposed model uses various data which are generated by integrated vehicle networks.

  • This paper was inspired by the fact that Real-time Traffic Information Service could play a key role in reducing incomplete combustion time remarkably since it can provide traffic jam information in real-time basis. Emission characteristics of experimental engines were studied with variable travel distances and speed of car in terms of traffic information provided. 12 Km distance road of Susung district in Daegu is taken as an experimental area to examine this new approach. The emission was tested while the driving was done at 8 AM, 3 PM, 6 PM which represents various traffic conditions. The reduced emission has been measured for a travel distance running at different loads (conventional shortest route and Real-time Traffic Information) and various loads (CO, VOC and NOx) are all inventoried and calculated in terms of existing emission factors. The emission has been shown to reduce linearly with travel distance : carbon monoxide (20.56%), VOC (29.21%), NOx(8.86%).
