Objective: In order to secure the right to walk for the weak, such as the disabled, this study aims to suggest ways to improve the pedestrian environment by identifying factors that cause obstacles to walking. Design: Data Analysis and Perception Survey. Methods: The questionnaire was conducted separately between users of personal mobility vehicle and non-users. A total of 207 effective questionnaires were collected, and the analysis analyzed the perception of personal mobility vehicle by conducting frequency analysis using SAS 9.4. The survey focused on basic information on respondents, walking conditions, understanding of personal mobility vehicle, awareness of pedestrian space passage and parking, and awareness of the possibility of securing pedestrian rights due to new regulations. Results: First, when moving a pedestrian path by personal mobility vehicle, it shall be limited to less than the walking speed of pedestrians. Second, the parking location of the personal mobility vehicle is located at the boundary of the pedestrian road and the lane. Third, pay a fair price to park in a pedestrian space. Conclusions: It is necessary to improve the system to strengthen the contents of education to take into account the safety of pedestrians in education on how to use personal mobility vehicle.

This study is aimed at grasping improvement factors of Cheonho Park, Gandaemae Park and Hunlyunwon Park as barrier free friendly parks. For this study, current status of parks, users' state and satisfaction were analyzed in October, 2014 and September, 2015. To detect current status, period of designing, whole size, facility pavement green space area, and main spaces were examined. As for BF status, mediation facilities, leading and guidance facilities, convenient facilities and BF pedestrial passage were analyzed. Also, It examined user behavior and satisfaction by accessibility, convenience and safety items. As a result of status analysis, three parks were designed in 1997~1998. The size of parks were $15,180m^2{\sim}26,697m^2$. As for mediation facilities, the slopes of walking-passage in Cheonho Park and Gandaemae Park were flat. The rate of leading-guidance facilities was 72.7%~93.4%. In the three parks, the effective width of safe pedestrian space within BF pedestrial passages was more than 1.8m. In Cheonho Park and Gandaemae Park, more than 50% of soil and urethane were used as paving materials. Users were the most satisfied with accessibilities in Cheonho Park due to flat-typed walking passages. In convenience, when it comes to using benches and pergolas, it showed significantly different satisfaction in every park. In safety, there were also considerable difference in every park. Overall, it was analysed that the satisfaction with information for safety and facilities was significantly low. Against this backdrop, this study suggests three considerations to recreate parks as barrier free friendly parks. 1) Flat-typed walking passages and enough parking areas near parks should be constructed. 2) Additional rest furniture for convenience should be installed and complemented. 3) Walking oriented-spatial safe facilities for safety should be differently supplemented.

This paper presents a novel method of path planning for a quadruped walking robot on irregular terrain. In the previous study on the path planning problem of mobile robots, it has been usually focused on the collision-free path planning for wheeled robots. The path planning problem of legged roboth, however, has unique aspects from the point of viw that the legged robot can cross over the obstacles and the gait constraint should be considered in the process of planning a path. To resolve this unique problem systematically, a new concept of the artificial intensity field of light is numerically constructed over the configuration space of the robot including the transformed obstacles and a feasible path is sought in the field. Also, the efficiency of the proposed method is shown by various simulation results.

In general, dizziness is caused by various situations, but among them, symptoms due to dysfunction of the motor system belonging to the nervous system are the most severe, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Treatment of these dizziness includes drug therapy, surgical therapy, and rehabilitation. Drug therapy and surgery are generally performed in vest rehabilitation training, which is a rehabilitation therapy because of the risk of aftereffects. The vestibular rehabilitation training includes eye training, posture stabilization training, and walking training. Among them, walking training is performed in a certain space under the supervision of a doctor or a professional therapist, so that the time and space burden is increased. In order to solve this problem, we implemented gait training contents which can be used for rehabilitation training by using the augmented reality technology. It is expected that it can be utilized as dizziness rehabilitative contents which can be used in medical environment through clinical tests for patients with dizziness.
In this paper, we propose a system to walk around the world with virtual reality technology. Although the virtual reality users are interested in the virtual travel contents, the conventional virtual travel contents have limited space for experiencing and lack of interactivity. In order to solve the problem of lack of realism and limited space, which is a disadvantage of existing contents, this system created a virtual space using Google Street View image. Users can have realistic experience with real street images, and travel a vast area of the world provided by Google Street View image. Also, a virtual reality headset and a treadmill equipment are used so that the user can actually walk in the virtual space, which maxmizes user interactivity and immersion. We expect this system contributes to the leisure activities of virtual reality users by allowing natural walking trip from famous tourist spots to even mountain roads and alleys.
Currently, big data and open data, together with traditional measured data, have come to constitute a new data environment, expanding new technical paths for quantitative analysis of the street environment. Streets provide precious linear public space in high-density residential areas. Pedestrian activities are the main body of street vitality. In this paper, 441 street segments were selected from 21 residential districts in high-density downtown area of Shanghai as cases, to quantitatively evaluate the influencing factors of pedestrian activities. Bivariate analysis was performed, and the results showed that street vitality was not only correlated with a highly populated environment, but also with other factors. In particular, the density of entrances and exits of residential properties, the proportion of walkable areas, and the density of retail and service facilities, were correlated with the vitality of street segments. The magnitudes of correlation between the street environmental factors and the pedestrian traffic differed across various trip purposes. Segment connectivity factors were more correlated with walking for leisure than for transportation. While public transportation factors were mainly correlated with walking for transportation, vehicular traffic factors were negatively correlated with walking for leisure.
The advancement of virtual reality technology offers various locomotion options that support users' navigation behaviors in a virtual reality environment. This study was aimed at examining the effects of two navigation methods-joystick-controlling and walking-around-on users' perceived usability, behavioral engagement, and virtual presence. Fifty South Korean college students were recruited in the study, and they were assigned randomly to one of the two navigation conditions. Participants from each group were asked to observe a 3D object and complete the surveys. They were then asked to repeat the procedure with a 2D image. Using repeated-measures ANOVAs and MANOVA, we found that users using joystick-controlling reported higher usability and showed superior performance to the walking-around group on two tasks. Participants reported a higher behavioral engagement when observing the 2D image. Besides, they perceived a significantly higher virtual presence when observing the 2D image. Finally, we discussed the implications of the findings for the navigation method design.

A four-legged Walking Machine can move on the plain terrain with mobility and stability and stability, but if there exist any obstacles on the terrain of the motion direction, it takes extra time to cross those obstacles and the stability should be considered during motion. The main objective is the study a Quadruped which can cross obstacles with better mobility, stability and fuel economy than any other wheeled or tracked vehicles. Vertical step, isolated wall and ditch are the basic obstacles and by understanding those three cases perfectly, a Quadruped can move on any mixed rough terrain as 4-legged terrestrial vertebrates move. Each leg of a Quadruped has a limited walk space called a walking volume and this is very important to deter- mine the crossing capability in a static analysis. A Quadruped can be simplified with links and joints. By applying the research method, a quadruped can determine the control procedures as soon as it receives the terrain information from scanner and finally can move with mobility and stability.
A planned access method on constantly-changing-community unit plan changes and develops based on the periodical situation and also plan theory. In this research, it is to present the link between the theory of complex city change and the plan factor of it, and to show how Korean residential complex plan has changed as time passed and how new concept of city plan came up and by applying new methods how can this affect our real world and the past plan. In the phase of analysis, it analyzed the flow of 'community unit plan' and its theory and investigated the factor of compositional space and built a analysis frame. The factors of community unit plan are space structure, size and shape of block, population, distribution of facilities and movement system. It chose the place that can represent the flow of community unit plan trand and that indicates the obvious development leading to Jamsil (1975), Gwa Chun (1980), Mok Dong (1983), Sang Ge (1985), Ilsan (1989), Dong tan (2001) and Eun Jung (2003) total of 7 places. And to compare a similar size of the city, it selected a small community unit. Based on the result of theoretical study and prior research, it can be said that the space composition style has change from a whole complete complex area to a linked-cross over community unit and the access of urban level was on set. Also, a pedestrian walking area was secured and the dense of building structure and pleasant environment wanting need was in balance. For facility plans, the usage of facility and functional change brought change of type, size and disposition. The walking area for pedestrian became a huge matter. Therefore, market, education, public facilities and green system collaborated to co-build a whole community unit and activated the walking environment. Also, public transportation, environment friendly city organization was built.
Architect Bernard Tschumi had explored a new architectural conception through his own notional devices such as space, event and movement during 1970s. But, among these notions, the concept of movement was ambiguous and difficult to adopt it for architectural design strategy. Because the movements in everyday's behaviour or in dancing art are significantly different from architectural thought. However he had succeeded in coining the creative notion of movement as almost real body's and of living flesh. He invented an acute methodology and bold interpretation for his early experimental works. So, this paper tried to understand and analyse his concept of movement focused on his early works. The results of this paper's discussion are as follows; First, Tschumi's movement concept Is dynamic one operated by desire and can violate space in physical level as well as metaphysical level. Next, the movement performs the role of generator which deforms space or even generate it. Third, his movement can be readable only when you go down and bring it in practice. Also it Is unblocked potentiality, undetermined sequential material and unfinished practice. Fourth, when Tschumi's movement could be thought as walking, this walking movement makes up a story through rhetorical speech acts that are presented by turns and detours.
