This study suggested the environmental components for open space in a healing environment based on the social support approach for integrating and enhancing users' activities and interactions. The physical environments of the open space in healing facilities should be suggested by social support design and support the interactions of various users. Particularly architectural environment conditions should reinforce the contribution to the revitalization of medical facilities based on improving the healing effect of patients through mutual exchange of users. The open space environment conditions influence users' healing process with physical design factors and users' interactions, and the flexible environments based on the social support that is crucial for circulation and mutual exchange of users. The open space transformation, integration of technology, and wayfinding system with color and signage also allow users to improve the space experience and easy access. The environmental components of open space design should include easy access for user inflow, flexible layout for comfort, access to outdoor spaces, integration of warm color schemes for relaxation, personalization of spaces with artwork, and visual interest through the use of textures and materials.

Accessibility of urban green space, as an important index of evaluating the service level of urban green space, not only shows the resident's access to green space, but also reflects the environment quality of urban living. Since the quantity, area and space distribution of the patches in urban green space directly affect the function of urban green space and the quality of urban environment, the research on the accessibility of urban green space holds great significance to improve the service of urban green space and the living environment quality. Based on GIS software, this research uses the road network and the population distribution data of Nanjing's city proper to conduct quantitative analysis of the accessibility of park green space and the convenience for residents to travel under different forms of transportation. After the case analysis, the author tests the application of road network in studying the accessibility of urban park green space and proposes a GIS-based method to study the accessibility and the rational layout of urban green space.

The childcare scpace environment greatly affects the growth and development of infant and toddler. Building a comfortable space environment is considered a great social task. Through this study, the current guidelines can be expanded and supplemented by comparatively analyzing the childcare space environment of domestic and foreign guidelines. An integrated guideline with additional suggestions for universal design, scale, dimensions, environment, and finishing materials was derived.

In this study, we analyzed the state of outdoor-space use and green-environment development for apartment residents, and investigated their ways of thinking on nature orientation and green environment. The results are as follows. 1) The ways of thinking and actual use of outdoor space by apartment residents appear different. 2) Due to the difference of apartment locations and complex environments, the state and reason of green environment construction are different between the residents of high-rise and low-storied apartments. 3) The residents of the low-storied apartments are more satisfied with the green environments of the complex than those of the high-rise apartments. In addition, constructing the green environment in a balcony and outdoor space enhances the satisfaction level of the apartment residents. 4) The residents of the low-storied apartments are passive in nature orientation, while those of the high-rise apartments are active. 5) Depending on the types of nature orientation, the apartment residents are grouped as 'people of nature experience', 'nature appreciators', or 'people of living-thing contact'. These groups show different patterns on the ways of thinking for outdoor space and green environment.

Solar flare and storm may give an adverse effect upon electromagnetic environment around the Earth, so that various kinds of satellite cease to normally function. This kind of space storm disaster is characterized by the uncertainty about when and what size. Recently the UN has been paying attention to this plausible disaster. Particularly the COPUOS has taken the view that this disaster would threaten the sustainable space environment. The precautionary principle, rooted and excercised in the environment protection filed, has been adopted in the case of disaster with uncertainty. The reports and opinions given by the expert and representatives of the member States have stated that the precautionary principle should be adopted for the purpose of dealing with this disaster. On the other hand, it is advanced that the principle has been already included in the space law principle enshrined in the 1967 Space Treaty. The Treaty has adopted the freedom of navigation and use of the outer space for the interest of all States as the basic principles. Sustainable environment is necessary for implementing the principle. Therefore, the rules for the protection of sustainable space environment should be based upon the space law principle.

This study aims to theoretically examine the educational and living elements that are needed for social education in the school system and suggest an approach to apply this result to the environmental aspects of the space in schools. To do this, characteristics of space in exemplary middle school oversee were analyzed. Also, the characteristics and status of the school space environment that foster socialization were examined. In order to increase students' social skills, the following community space should be considered. 1) teaching and learning spaces facilitating a variety of teaching methods, such as lecture, discussion, seminar classes, 2) open-spaces for communication among students, such as home base, hall, library, museum, and restaurant, 3) open-spaces for STEM education, 4) transparent windows located in the boundary wall between classrooms and hallways, 5) a large performance stage for presentation of student activities and experiences, 6) smart-learning spaces for fluent ICT system in classes and in public spaces, 7) restaurants and libraries located in the middle space of the school, and 8) ecological environments for student learning.

As people have paid much attention to their health along with increased interest in high quality of living, they have managed their health in organized manners. Space is a physical field which directly and indirectly interacts with human life, there is a little research on its therapeutic aspect and it is only negatively applied for development of products and alternative medicine. This study aims to identify research trends and flows targeting previous research on therapeutic approaches in domestic space design and present basic materials on space design approaches in a therapeutic view, which will be helpful in ultimate development of space design in theories and practices. As a result, it was discovered that there were only a few papers which were searched with direct key words on curative environment, which indicates that specific studies as therapeutic approaches are insufficient. When the studies were analysed according to annual publications, research on residential welfare and medical space was active, and research on design methodology, design techniques, and design plans was active, but research on psychology, behaviors, laws and institutions was relatively insufficient, which indicates studies on physical and psychological aspects of space design are necessary. In conclusion, it is suggested that further studies on therapeutic environment for direct and specific persons should be defined and classified although there have been relevant studies in various fields.

This research is an illustrative research to verify the thermo environmental change created after introduction of indoor pond through abridged model test and simulation analysis. Especially, temperature and comfort level are analyzed by adjusting factors like size of water space, distance length, and location. Summary of the research is as follows. First, the most effective size of water space is 7% of the indoor size, from southern side. Temperature reduction effect is about $1.6^{\circ}C$(5.5%), and for the comfort level, it is found that pmv index increases 8%. Second, based on the simulation of distance length with the sphere, it is more effective as it is close to the surface. If distance length is more than 0.5m, there is no effect on reduction of temperature and comfort level of indoor environment. Lastly, for the analysis by location of the introduced water space, simulation is undertaken by dividing the water space (14% of the indoor size) with front, side, rear and center types. Temperature reduction effect is found to be : front type ($-1.53^{\circ}C$), side type ($-0.82^{\circ}C$), rear type ($-0.44^{\circ}C$), center type ($-0.28^{\circ}C$), respectively. The indoor environment change data by introduction of water space, found in this research, is at initial phase, but it is deemed to be a basic data to refer when planning actual water space.
