If the software is not updated after the vulnerability is disclosed, it can continue to be attacked. As a result, the importance of N-day detection is increasing as attacks that exploit vulnerabilities increase. However, there is a problem that it is difficult to find specific version information in the published vulnerability database, or that the wrong version or software is outputted. There is also a limitation in that the connection between the published vulnerability databases is not good. In order to overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a method of building information including comprehensive vulnerability information such as CVE, CPE, and Exploit Database into an integrated database. Furthermore, by developing a website for searching for vulnerabilities based on an integrated database built as a result of this study, it is effective in detecting and utilizing vulnerabilities in specific software versions and Windows operating systems.

Recently P2P is the most popular network service on Internet and is applied various areas such as streaming, file sharing and software distribution, but there are many security threats depending on vulnerabilities by P2P network environments. Conceptually P2P network is a overlay network based on Internet, and it has security concerns of itself as well as those of Internet environments. In this paper, we analyze the vulnerabilities and threats for domestic P2P services through various experiments and describe their risk analysis. We expect that this work contributes to new domestic P2P services in consideration of service qualities and security vulnerabilities.

The security of the firmware is more important because embedded devices have become popular. Network devices such as routers can be attacked by attackers through web application vulnerabilities in embedded firmware. Therefore, they must be found and removed quickly. The Firmadyne framework proposes a dynamic analysis method to find vulnerabilities after emulating firmware. However, it only performs vulnerability checks according to the analysis methods defined in the tool, thus limiting the scope of vulnerabilities that can be found. In this paper, fuzzing is performed in emulation-based environment through fuzzing, one of the software security test techniques. We also propose a Fabfuzz tool for efficient emulation based fuzzing. Experiments have shown that in addition to the vulnerabilities identified in existing tools, other types of vulnerabilities have been found.

Recent developments in hacking technology are continuing to increase the number of new security vulnerabilities. Approximately 80,000 new vulnerabilities have been registered in the Common Vulnerability Enumeration (CVE) database, which is a representative vulnerability database, from 2010 to 2015, and the trend is gradually increasing in recent years. While security vulnerabilities are growing at a rapid pace, responses to security vulnerabilities are slow to respond because they rely on manual analysis. To solve this problem, there is a need for a technology that can automatically detect and patch security vulnerabilities and respond to security vulnerabilities in advance. In this paper, we propose the technology to extract the features of the vulnerability-discovery target binary through complexity analysis, and select a vulnerability-discovery strategy suitable for the feature and automatically explore the vulnerability. The proposed technology was compared to the AFL, ANGR, and Driller tools, with about 6% improvement in code coverage, about 2.4 times increase in crash count, and about 11% improvement in crash incidence.

Recently, automated software testing methods such as fuzzing have been researched to find software vulnerabilities. The purpose of fuzzing is to disclose software vulnerabilities by providing a software with malformed data. In order to increase the probability of vulnerability discovery by fuzzing, we must solve the test suite reduction problem because the probability depends on the test case quality. In this paper, we propose a new method to solve the test suite reduction problem which is suitable for the long test case such as file. First, we suggested the length of test case as a measure in addition to old measures such as coverage and redundancy. Next we designed a test suite reduction algorithm using the new measure. In the experimental results, the proposed algorithm showed better performance in the size and length reduction ratio of the test suite than previous studies. Finally, results from an empirical study suggested the viability of our proposed measure and algorithm for file fuzzing.

Typical software developed and used by North Korea is Red Star and internal application software. However, most of the existing research on the North Korean software is the software installation method and general execution screen analysis. One of the ways to identify software vulnerabilities is file fuzzing, which is a typical method for identifying security vulnerabilities. In this paper, we use file fuzzing to analyze the security vulnerability of the software used in North Korea's Seogwang Document Processing System. At this time, we propose the analysis of open document text (ODT) file produced by Seogwang Document Processing System, extraction of node based on Document Object Mode (DOM) to determine test target, and generation of mutation file through insertion and substitution, this increases the number of crash detections at the same testing time.
As the scale of airborne system software increases, the use of OOT (Object-Oriented Technology) is increasing for functional expansion, efficient development, and code reuse, but the verification method for airborne object-oriented software is conducted from the perspective of the existing procedure-oriented program. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the characteristics of OOT and the vulnerabilities derived from the functional characteristics of OOT, and present a verification method applicable to each software development process (Design, Coding and Testing) to ensure the functional safety integrity of aviation software to which OOT is applied. Additionally, we analyzed the meaning of the static analysis results among the step-by-step verification measures proposed by applying LDRA, a static analysis automation tool, to PX4, an open source used to implement flight control software.
If a vulnerability in the software connected to the network to obtain the user's privilege, a remote attacker could gain the privilege to use the computer. In addition, in a user environment in which an operating system for a specific series is used a lot, if a problem occurs in the operating system, considerable damage can occur. In particular, If an error is a security vulnerability, it can be a very big problem. Various studies have been conducted to find and respond to vulnerabilities in such a situation. Among various security technologies, the fuzzing technology is one of the most effective technologies to find errors in software. In this paper, I designed and implemented a fuzzing agent that can detect buffer overflow vulnerabilities that can occur in various applications. Through this fuzzing agent, application developers will be able to realize a more secure computing environment in which they can discover and fix vulnerabilities in their own applications.

In this study, we wanted to examine the new vulnerability 'Dirty Pipe' that is founded in Linux kernel. how it's exploited and what is the limitation, where it's existed, and overcome techniques and analysis of the Linux kernel package. The study of the method used the hmark[1] program to check the vulnerabilities. Hmark is a whitebox testing tool that helps to analyze the vulnerability based on static whitebox testing and automated verification. For this purpose of our study, we analyzed Linux kernel code that is downloaded from an open-source website. Then by analyzing the hmark tool results, we identified in which file of the kernel it exists, cvss level, statistically depicted vulnerabilities on graph which is easy to understand. Furthermore, we will talk about some software we can use to analyze a vulnerability and how hmark software works. In the case of the Dirty Pipe vulnerability in Linux allows non-privileged users to execute malicious code capable of a host of destructive actions including installing backdoors into the system, injecting code into scripts, altering binaries used by elevated programs, and creating unauthorized user profiles. This bug is being tracked as CVE-2022-0847 and has been termed "Dirty Pipe"[2] since it bears a close resemblance to Dirty Cow[3], and easily exploitable Linux vulnerability from 2016 which granted a bad actor an identical level of privileges and powers.
In this study, we propose an automated unit test generation technique for detecting vulnerabilities of Android kernel modules. The technique automatically generates unit test drivers/stubs and unit test inputs for each function of Android kernel modules by utilizing dynamic symbolic execution. To reduce false alarms caused by function pointers and missing pre-conditions of automated unit test generation technique, we develop false alarm reduction techniques that match function pointers by utilizing static analysis and generate pre-conditions by utilizing def-use analysis. We showed that the proposed technique could detect all existing vulnerabilities in the three modules of Android kernel 3.4. Also, the false alarm reduction techniques removed 44.9% of false alarms on average.
