  • Nuclear power plants are increasingly being equipped with digital I&C systems. Although some probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) models for the digital I&C of nuclear power plants have been constructed, there is currently no specific internationally agreed guidance for their modeling. This paper presents an initiative by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency called "Digital I&C PSA - Comparative application of DIGital I&C Modelling Approaches for PSA (DIGMAP)", which aimed to advance the field towards practical and defendable modeling principles. The task, carried out in 2017-2021, used a simplified description of a plant focusing on the digital I&C systems important to safety, for which the participating organizations independently developed their own PSA models. Through comparison of the PSA models, sensitivity analyses as well as observations throughout the whole activity, both qualitative and quantitative lessons were learned. These include insights on failure behavior of digital I&C systems, experience from models with different levels of abstraction, benefits from benchmarking as well as major contributors to the core damage frequency and those with minor effect. The study also highlighted the challenges with modeling of large common cause component groups and the difficulties associated with estimation of key software and common cause failure parameters.

  • Background: This study aimed to develop and assess the psychometric features of the Physical Activity at Workplace Questionnaire (PAWPQ) based on the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) to evaluate employees' physical activity (PA) behaviors at the workplace. Methods: This psychometric cross-sectional study was conducted on 455 employees working in one of the gas refineries in Iran. The participants were selected using the proportional stratified sampling method in 2019. The data collection tools were a demographic information questionnaire, the short form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), and a questionnaire developed based on the SCT, whose psychometric features were confirmed in terms of validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using SPSS22 and AMOS20 software. Results: The first version of PAWPQ-SCT had 74 items. After evaluating content and face validity, nine items were removed. The results of the content validity index (0.98), content validity ratio (0.86), and impact score (3.62) were acceptable for the whole instrument. In exploratory factor analysis, after removing seven items-58-item final version of the scale-six factors could explain 73.54% of the total variance. The results of structural equation modeling showed the acceptable fit of the model into the data (RMSEA = 0.052, CFI = 0.917, NFI = 0.878, TLI = 0.905, IFI = 0.917, CMIN/DF = 2.818). Cronbach's alpha coefficient and Intraclass Correlation were 0.90 and 0.86, respectively. Conclusion: This study confirmed that the psychometric features of the 58-item final version of PAWPQSCT constructs were acceptable in a sample of Iranian employees. This questionnaire can be used as a valid and reliable tool to evaluate Iranian employees' PA behaviors and develop effective educational interventions for workers and managers.

  • The successful operation of a product In service depends upon the effective provision of logistic support in order to achieve and maintain the required levels of performance and customer satisfaction. Logistic support encompasses the activities and facilities required to maintain a product (hardware and software) in service. Logistic support covers maintenance, manpower and personnel, training, spares, technical documentation and packaging handling, storage and transportation and support facilities. The cost of logistic support is often a major contributor to the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of a product and increasingly customers are making purchase decisions based on lifecycle cost rather than initial purchase price alone. Logistic support considerations can therefore have a major impact on product sales by ensuring that the product can be easily maintained at a reasonable cost and that all the necessary facilities have been provided to fully support the product in the field so that it meets the required availability. Quantification of support costs allows the manufacturer to estimate the support cost elements and evaluate possible warranty costs. This reduces risk and allows support costs to be set at competitive rates.Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is a management method by which all the logistic support services required by a customer can be brought together in a structured way and In harmony with a product. In essence the application of ILS:- causes logistic support considerations to be integrated into product design;- develops logistic support arrangements that are consistently related to the design and to each other;- provides the necessary logistic support at the beginning and during customer use at optimum cost. The method by which ILS achieves much of the above is through the application of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA). This is a series of support analysis tasks that are performed throughout the design process in order to ensure that the product can be supported efficiently In accordance with the requirements of the customer. The successful application of ILS will result in a number of customer and supplier benefits. These should include some or all of the following:- greater product uptime;- fewer product modifications due to supportability deficiencies and hence less supplier rework;- better adherence to production schedules in process plants through reduced maintenance, better support;- lower supplier product costs;- Bower customer support costs;- better visibility of support costs;- reduced product LCC;- a better and more saleable product;- Improved safety;- increased overall customer satisfaction;- increased product purchases;- potential for purchase or upgrade of the product sooner through customer savings on support of current product.ILS should be an integral part of the total management process with an on-going improvement activity using monitoring of achieved performance to tailor existing support and influence future design activities. For many years, ILS was predominantly applied to military procurement, primarily using standards generated by the US Government Department of Defense (DoD). The military standards refer to specialized government infrastructures and are too complex for commercial application. The methods and benefits of ILS, however, have potential for much wider application in commercial and civilian use. The concept of ILS is simple and depends on a structured procedure that assures that logistic aspects are fully considered throughout the design and development phases of a product, in close cooperation with the designers. The ability to effectively support the product is given equal weight to performance and is fully considered in relation to its cost. The application of ILS provides improvements in availability, maintenance support and longterm 3ogistic cost savings. Logistic costs are significant through the life of a system and can often amount to many times the initial purchase cost of the system. This study provides guidance on the minimum activities necessary to Implement effective ILS for a wide range of commercial suppliers. The guide supplements IEC60106-4, Guide on maintainability of equipment Part 4: Section Eight maintenance and maintenance support planning, which emphasizes the maintenance aspects of the support requirements and refers to other existing standards where appropriate. The use of Reliability and Maintainability studies is also mentioned in this study, as R&M is an important interface area to ILS.

  • Purpose : To evaluate accuracy and reliability of program to measure facial soft tissue thickness using 3D computed tomographic images by comparing with direct measurement. Materials and Methods : One cadaver was scanned with a Helical CT with 3 mm slice thickness and 3 mm/sec table speed. The acquired data was reconstructed with 1.5 mm reconstruction interval and the images were transferred to a personal computer. The facial soft tissue thickness were measured using a program developed newly in 3D image. For direct measurement, the cadaver was cut with a bone cutter and then a ruler was placed above the cut side. The procedure was followed by taking pictures of the facial soft tissues with a high-resolution digital camera. Then the measurements were done in the photographic images and repeated for ten times. A repeated measure analysis of variance was adopted to compare and analyze the measurements resulting from the two different methods. Comparison according to the areas was analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. Results : There were no statistically significant differences between the direct measurements and those using the 3D images (p>0.05). There were statistical differences in the measurements on 17 points but all the points except 2 points showed a mean difference of 0.5 mm or less. Conclusion : The developed software program to measure the facial soft tissue thickness using 3D images was so accurate that it allows to measure facial soft tissues thickness more easily in forensic science and anthropology.

  • This study examined the factors that affect the relationship between job characteristics, job satisfaction and turnover intention. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to bakery workers, of which 279 were deemed suitable for analysis after the removal of 21 unusable responses. In order to perform statistical analyses required in the study, AMOS and SPSS 18.0 statistical software were employed for frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlations, and regression analysis. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that four factors regarding local specialties job characteristics were extracted from all measurements with a KMO of 0.766 and a total cumulative variance of 67.905%. With regard to job satisfaction, one factor was extracted with a total cumulative variance of 64.955% and a KMO score of 0.733. One factor for turnover intention was extracted that accounted for a total cumulative variance of 64.689% and a KMO score of 0.760. All factors were significant to 0.000 and the correlation between variables was significant. Thus, based on the results, the main research hypothesis that identifies the relationships among job characteristics, job satisfaction and turnover intention was partially adopted.

  • In this paper, we developed a MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system using a knife-edge scanning method for infrared optics. It consists of an objective part to generate the target image, a collimator to make the beam parallel, and a detector to analyze the image. We used a tungsten filament as the light source and MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) to detect the mid-infrared(wavelength $3-5{\mu}m$) image. We measured the MTF of a standard lens (f=5, material ZnSe) to test this instrument and compared the result to the theoretical value calculated using the ZEMAX commercial software. It was found that the difference was within ${\pm}0.035$ at the cut-off frequency (50 1/mm). Also, we calculated the A-type measurement uncertainty to check the reliability of the measurement. The result showed only 0.002 at 20 1/mm in spatial frequency, which means very little variation in the MTF measurement under the same conditions.

  • Purpose - Our primary goal of this study is to investigate the positive relationship between female managers' self-determined motivations (i.e., RAI: relative autonomy index) and job performances with the mediation of their job creativity in service industries. This study also examines the moderating role of creative efficacy on the relationship between female managers' self-determined motivations and creativities. Finally, based on mediation and moderation hypotheses, we also tested moderating effect of creative efficacy on the mediation effect of job creativity. Research design, data, and methodology - Drawing on SDT(Self-determination theory) and COR(conservation of resources) theories, we developed three research hypotheses. Service female managers from a several service organizations(i.e. banking, retailing, and restaurant/hospitality service) in South Korea were surveyed using self-administered instrument for data collection. A total of 331 usable questionnaires were obtained after list-wise deletion. To test reliability and validity of measurement model, we employed the CFA(confirmatory factor analysis) using M-plus 8.1 Software. Also, internal consistency was tested by Cronbach's α. We, furthermore, used the SPSS PROCESS MACRO 2.16, which was suggested by Hayes (2013; 2015), to test mediation, moderation, and moderated mediation. Results - Our results revealed that self-determined motivation and job performance were positively and fully mediated by job creativity. Furthermore, the positive relationship between female managers' self-determined motivations and job creativities was stronger when their creative self-efficacies were high than when it was low. In addition, female managers' creative self-efficacies also amplified the positive relationship between their self-determined motivations and job performances with the mediation of job creativity. Conclusions - Our research empirically elaborated the previous model of self-determined motivation and manager/female creativity literature by presenting the findings that female managers' self-determined motivations significantly influence their job performances via job creativity and that creative self-efficacy effectively strengthen these positive impacts. Also, our research offered new insight for practitioners (i.e. top service managers) by suggesting that they may enhance female service managers' job performance if they pay more attention to employee creativity in service marketing.

  • In the recent commercial DBMS market, as the users' burden and complaint which are related to high price licensing policy and late technical support service are increasingly rising, the concern for use of open source DBMS which has no problem with compatibility or stability is escalating. Due to the fact, the cases saving the cost are growing by converting Oracle Corporation's applications, which has about 60% share in the DBMS market, to an open source DBMS. However, in converting non-interchange sentences to an ANSI standard-based open source DBMS because of the use of PL/SQL in Oracle Corporation provides, a lot of manual work accompanies, so there is a lot of loss of time and money. Therefore, a tool that automatically converts PL/SQL to standard SQL is required. The proposed automation tool for the conversion of applications converts PL/SQL to Java Stored Procedure, an open source DBMS-based ANSI standard programming language. Through carrying out a test on the automation tool, it is proved that the tool will contribute to shortening time and saving cost by verifying the identity of input-output data and its reliability after correcting errors in converting to Java Stored Procedure.

  • The BIM design is expected to expand to the domestic and overseas construction industries, depending on the effect of construction productivity and quality improvement. However, with the obligation of Public Procurement Service to design the BIM design, it includes a design error and the problem of utilization of 3D design by choosing a simple 2D to 3D remodelling method that can not be modelled in 3D modeling or use of the construction and maintenance phases. The results reviewed by BIM design results were largely underutilized and were not even performed with the verification of the error. In order to resolve this, one must develop the check system that secures the quality of BIM design and ensure that the reliability of BIM results are available. In this study, it is designed to develop a program that can automatically verify the design of the BIM design results such as violation of the rules of the BIM design, design flaws, and improve the usability of the BIM design. In particular, this programs were developed not only to identify programmes that were not commercially available, but also to validate drawings in low-light computer environments. The developed program(LH-BIM) store the information of attribute extracted from the Revit file(ArchiCAD, IFC file included) in the integrated DB. This provides the ability to freely lookup the features and properties of drawings delivered exclusively by the LH-BIM Program without using the Revit tools. By doing so, it was possible to resolve the difficulties of using traditional commercial programs and to ensure that they operate only with traditional PC performance. Further, the results of the various BIM software can be readily validated, which can be solved the conversion process error of IFC in the case of SMC. Additionally, the developed program has the ability to automatically check the error and design criteria of the drawings, as well as the ability to calculate the area estimation. These functions allow businesses to apply simple and easy tasks to operate tasks of BIM modelling. The developed system(LH-BIM) carried out a verification test by reviewing the review of the BIM Design model of the Korea Land & Housing Corporation. It is hoped that the verification system will not only be able to achieve the Quality of BIM design, but also contribute to the expansion of BIM and future construction BIM.

  • This study structurally analyzes the relations between children's pet attachment, empathy ability, and prosociality. The results are used to investigate the relations between pet attachment and empathy ability, which have recently emerged as important variables that affect children's prosociality. Data were collected about pet attachment, empathy ability, and prosociality from 209 elementary students in Daejeon who had experience with raising pets. SPSS 22.0 software was used for descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and reliability analysis, and AMOS 22.0 was used for confirmatory factor analysis and to examine the structural equation model. According to the analyses, children's pet attachment did not affect their prosociality but did influence their empathy ability. Children's empathy ability affected their prosociality and had a mediating effect on the relation between their pet attachment and prosociality. The results indicate that children's pet attachment and empathy ability are essential factors that influence prosociality. To improve prosociality, efforts should be made increase pet attachment and empathy ability. The study results can be used as a theoretical and practical fundamental basis for plans to improve children's pet attachment, empathy ability, and prosociality.
