  • In addition to advances in information technology, machine learning approach is applied to a variety of applications, and is expanding to a variety of areas. In this paper, we propose a software analysis method that applies linear regression to analyse software similarity from the code distribution of the software. The characteristics of software can be expressed by instructions contained within the program, so the distribution information of instructions is used as learning data. In addition, a learning procedure with the learning data generates a linear regression model for software similarity analysis. The proposed method is evaluated with real world Java applications. The proposed method is expected to be used as a basic technique to determine similarity of software. It is also expected to be applied to various software analysis techniques through machine learning approaches.

  • As the importance of software in various industry areas has been increased, the number of accidents related to software safety are growing up. The key industries such as railroads, aviation and medicine, recommend IEC 61508 and international safety standards for their own to achieve functional safety and reduce the issues caused by that. For equipment of ship navigation, there are not any particular standards or guidance which Korean users can introduce as considering software functional safety. This article defines the procedure and outcomes of the risk analysis in order to secure software functional safety in marine navigational equipment and applies them to an echo sounder as a case study.

  • This paper is to study techniques of a virtual reality to maximize the depth of the users' immersion based on differentiated interactive contents using korean traditional fairy tale. In order to increase more interests in korean traditional fairy tale, we produce a interactive 3D contents and propose a new approach to a system designing applying a virtual realities such as HMD, Leap motion. First, using Korean traditional fairy tale, we generate interactive contents consisting of scenes intensifying user's tensions while interaction of game process. Based on the interactive contents generated, we design scene generation using Oculus HMD, the gaze based input processes and a hand interface using Leap motion, in order to provide a multi dimensional scene transmission and an input process method to intensify the sense of the reality. We will verify through diverse tests whether the proposed virtual reality contents based on a technique of an input process will actually intensify the immersion in the virtual reality or not while minimizing the motion sickness of the users.

  • In software system development, an application interface is the main communication platform between human developers and applications. Interaction in any software application requires human's mental and physical activities. Although software systems have increased drastically in diverse sectors and many forms to quench human's needs and satisfactions, human always concern about the ease in usability of the software application so that it can be easily understood and navigated. Since many software developers still focus on the quantity of contents instead of the quality of the interface from the user's point of view, it is important to address human factors need in the early stage of the design and to continue addressing them during the entire stages of the software design for the persistent support of usability. In this paper, we propose the Modified Prototype Model (MPM), which helps the software designers and developers to design user-friendly software systems with easy-to-navigate interfaces by uncovering human factors in a convenient way. Moreover, we propose methods that assist to identify more human factors regarding software design. In this paper, we also study the implications of the proposed model and the proposed methods.

  • This paper proposes a framework for classifying metric-based software quality prediction models, especially case of software criticality, into four types. Models are classified along two vectors: input metric forms and the necessity of past project data. Each type has its own characteristics and its strength and weakness are compared with those of other types using newly defined criteria. Through this qualitative evaluation each organization can choose a proper model to suit its environment. My earlier studies of criticality prediction model implemented specific models in each type and evaluated their prediction performances. In this paper I analyze the experimental results and show that the characteristics of a model type is the another key of successful model selection.

  • This paper presents the software design of RFID Educational system based on using 900MHz air interface between the reader and the tag. Software of the reader and active tag is developed on embedded environment and the software of PC controlling the reader is on window OS. ATmega128 processor is used for H/W of the reader and active tag, and C language is used for their developing. Programming on window OS used MFC. Main functions of this system are to control tag containing EPC global Data by PC through the reader, to obtain information of tag through the internet and to read/write data on tag memory. Software design of 900MHz RFID educational system is done on the basis of these functions.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the architecture of the ubiquitous software robot platform (Sobot platform) based on Web 2.0. In order to provide a user with the personalized emotional service by transferring to any device without any time or geographical limitations, the software robot must be developed as a form of a platform based on the standardized data and structures. To verify the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed Sobot platform consisting of the terminal platform, the server platform, and the contents composer, we compose user-created emotional Sobot contents messages on heterogeneous platforms such as PC, a mobile phone, a PDA, and a web portal site and experiment a variety of Sobot transfer implementation between them.
