Nafion 기반 IPMC 응용 및 개발 동향 (Trends of Nafion-based IPMC Application and Development)

  • Recently, polymer-metal composite (IPMC)-based ionic artificial muscle has been drawing a huge attention for its excellent soft actuator performance having outstanding soft actuator performance with efficient conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy under low working voltage. In addition, light, flexible and soft nature of IPMC and high bending strain response enabled development of versatile sensor application in association with soft actuator. In this paper, current issues of IPMC were discussed including standardizing preparation steps, relaxation under DC bias, inhibiting solvent evaporation, and improving poor output force. Solutions for these drawbacks of IPMC have recently been suggested in recent studies. After following explanation of the IPMC working mechanism, we investigate the main factors that affect the operating performance of the IPMC. Then, we reviewed the optimized IPMC actuator fabrication conditions especially for the preparation process, additive selection for a thicker membrane, water content, solvent substitutes, encapsulation, etc. Lastly, we considered the pros and cons of IPMCs for sensor application in a theoretical and experimental point of view. The strategies discussed in this paper to overcome such deficiencies of IPMCs are highly expected to provide a scope for IPMC utilization in soft robotics application.

DVB-RCS 망에서 Soft-QoS 기반의 Borrowing 기법을 사용한 호 수락 제어 (Call Admission Control using Soft QoS-based Borrowing Scheme in DVB-RCS Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 DVB-RCS (Digital Video Broadcast-Return Channel via Satellite) 망에서 호 수락제어 (CAC)를 위한 Soft-QoS 기반의 borrowing 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 위성 망에서 사용 가능한 자원이 부족할 때 새로운 호를 받아들이기 위해 서비스 중인 호 중 일부에서 일시적이고 공평하게 대역폭을 가져온다. 각각의 호에서 가져오는 대역폭의 양은 각 사용자의 critical bandwidth ratio에 비례하며 critical bandwidth ratio는 제안된 기법에서 이용하는 QoS 파라메타 중 하나이다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 기법이 호의 blocking 확률과 대역폭 효율 측면에서 성능의 향상이 있음을 보여준다.

  • The high computational complexity of deep learning algorithms has led to the development of specialized hardware architectures. However, soft errors (bit flip) may occur in these hardware systems due to voltage variation and high energy particles. Many error correction methods have been proposed to counter this problem. In this work, we analyze an error correction mechanism based on repetition codes and an activation function. We test this method by injecting errors into weight filters and define an ideal error rate range in which the proposed method complements the accuracy of the model in the presence of error.

Unconfined compressive strength property and its mechanism of construction waste stabilized lightweight soil

  • Light construction waste (LCW) particles are pieces of light concrete or insulation wall with light quality and certain strength, containing rich isolated and disconnected pores. Mixing LCW particles with soil can be one of the alternative lightweight soils. It can lighten and stabilize the deep-thick soft soil in-situ. In this study, the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and its mechanism of Construction Waste Stabilized Lightweight Soil (CWSLS) are investigated. According to the prescription design, totally 35 sets of specimens are tested for the index of dry density (DD) and unconfined compressive strength (UCS). The results show that the DD of CWSLS is mainly affected by LCW content, and it decreases obviously with the increase of LCW content, while increases slightly with the increase of cement content. The UCS of CWSLS first increases and then decreases with the increase of LCW content, existing a peak value. The UCS increases linearly with the increase of cement content, while the strength growth rate is dramatically affected by the different LCW contents. The UCS of CWSLS mainly comes from the skeleton impaction of LCW particles and the gelation of soil-cement composite slurry. According to the distribution of LCW particles and soil-cement composite slurry, CWSLS specimens are divided into three structures: "suspend-dense" structure, "framework-dense" structure and "framework-pore" structure.

접합유리와 반응된 Fe-Hf-N/Cr/SiO2 박막의 연자기 특성 열화 (Degradation of Soft Magnetic Properties of Fe-Hf-N/Cr/SiO2 Thin Films Reacted with Bonding Glass)

  • The degradation mechanism of soft magnetic properties of $Fe-Hf-N/Cr/SiO_2$ thin films reacted with a bonding glass was investigated. When $Fe-Hf-N/Cr/SiO_2$ films were annealed under $600^{\circ}C$ without the bonding glass, the compositions and the soft magnetic properties of Fe-Hf-N layers were not changed. However, after reaction with the bonding glass at $550^{\circ}C$, the soft magnetic properties of the film were degraded. At $600^{\circ}C$, the saturation magnetization of the reacted film decreased to 13.5 kG, and its coercivity increased to 4 Oe, and its effective permeability decreased to 700. It was founded that O diffused from the glass into the Fe-Hf-N layers during the reaction and generated $HfO_2$ phases. It was considered that the soft magnetic properties of the $Fe-Hf-N/Cr/SiO_2$ films reacted with the bonding glass were primarily degraded by the formation of the Fe-Hf-O-N layer of which the Fe content was below 60 $at\%$, and secondarily degraded by the Fe-Hf-O-N layer above 70 $at\%$.

THE EFFORT OF VARIOUS MIXING METHODS ON DYNAMIC VISCOELASTICITY OF A TEMPORARY SOFT LINING MATERIAL; COE-COMFORT

  • Statement of Problem. Temporary soft relining materials are used in a diverse clinical situations such as tissue conditioner, relining material, functional impression by varying its viscoelasticity. However, reproduction of consistent viscoelasticity has been not possible. Materials and methods. Considering setting mechanism of this material, this study has measured the effect of varying amount of void in dynamic viscoelasticity of soft relining material, with three different mixing methods. In each methods 10 specimens were made and subjected to dynamic viscoelastic test which were measured at specific times over period of 72 hours. Results. The analysis of the result shown that there was no statistically significant differences between different mixing methods. Conclusion. Different mixing methods had no effect over control of viscoelasticity of soft lining material. Further research is recommended for under similar oral environmental condition.

압전 캔틸레버 구조와 차량하중 전달방법에 따른 도로용 에너지 하베스터의 설계 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of the Road Energy Harvester According to Piezoelectric Cantilever Structure and Vehicle Load Transfer Mechanism)

  • A road energy harvester was designed and fabricated to convert mechanical energy from the vehicle load to electrical energy. The road energy harvester is composed of 16 piezoelectric cantilevers. We fabricated prototypes using a vehicle load transfer mechanism. Applying a vehicle load transfer mechanism rather than directly installing energy harvesters under roads decreases the area of road construction and allows more energy harvesters to be installed on the side of the road. The power generation amount with respect to the vehicular velocity change was assessed by installing the vehicle load transfer mechanism form and underground form. The energy harvester installed in the underground form generated power of 4.52 mJ at the vehicular velocity of 50 km/h. Also, power generation of the energy harvester installed in the vehicle load transfer mechanism form was 48.65 mJ at the vehicular velocity of 50 km/h.

연약지반에 시공되는 지오그리드 감쌈 스톤컬럼의 하중 지지 메카니즘에 관한 연구 (Investigation on Support Mechanism of Geogrid-Encased Stone Columns in Soft Ground)

  • 본 논문에서는 연약지반 성토시 지반보강 공법으로 적용되는 지오그리드 감쌈 스톤컬럼공법의 하중지지 메카니즘에 대한 내용을 다루었다. 이를 위해 연약지반 성토 시공과정과 지오그리드 감쌈 스톤컬럼의 배수 및 보강 효과를 현실적으로 모사할 수 있는 3차원 응력-간극수압 수치해석 모델을 이용하여 다양한 시공조건에 대한 해석을 수행하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 임의 시공조건에 있어 지오그리드 감쌈으로 발현되는 구속효과로 인해 스톤컬럼의 강성이 증가되어 상부 성토하중의 주변 연약지반으로의 하중분담율을 감소시키고 따라서 과잉간극수압 및 이에 따른 침하량이 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 효과는 지오그리드 감쌈길이 및 강성 등 보강조건에 좌우되는 것으로 나타났으며 임의 시공조건에 있어 보강효과를 최대로 확보할 수 있는 임계감쌈길이와 임계강성이 존재하는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Compared to wheel locomotion, walking has many advantages : Better to cross over obstacles, the contact with ground is in a determined point, the ground is damaged less. Because Theo Jansen mechanism can make walking motion that is very soft, there are many researches about that mechanism. In this paper, We designed walking robot based on Theo Jansen mechanism. Most important design factor is velocity and stability. First of all, we considered kinematics knowledge and then, we made a new model by using simulation. Finally we developed the model by solving few design problems.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 초류(草類) 4종(種)과 목본식물(木本植物)의 피자식물(被子植物) 31종(種)과 나자식물(裸子植物) 8종(種), 계(計) 43종(種)에 대(對)한 Soft X-ray photography에 의(依)한 종자(種子)의 몇 가지 형질(形質)을 조사(調査)하기 위(爲)하여 시험(試験)한 결과(結果), 종자(種子)의 대소(大小), 종피(種皮)의 후박(厚薄)에 관계(關係)없이, 배(胚)와 배유(胚乳)의 발달정도(發達程度), 자엽(子葉)의 크기와 착생부위(着生部位), 그리고 쌍자종자(双子種子)의 유무(有無)와 그의 착생상태(着生生態) 등(等)의 종자충실성(種子充實性)과 병충해(病虫害), 기계적(機械的) 상해등(傷害等)은 X-ray에 대(對)한 선택적(選擇的) 감수성(感受性)이 있어 Soft X-ray법(法)은 식판별(識判別)에 유효(有効)하다고 할 수 있다.
