This study was performed to analysis the social worker's duty in korea and suggest for typology duties of 1st grade social worker, 2nd or 3th grade social worker's qualification. 911 social workers responded to questioner. This objectives was accomplished by the measuring to frequency of duties, and the qualifying cognition of each grade social worker's duties. As a result, social worker spent more time carried out maintenance of facility, direct services, intake, management of file and official document duties than personal management, planning and financial program, evaluation and termination duties. Type of social worker's duties fined out composed of 4 type. Type I(The 1st grade social worker's duties) was belonged to 53 task elements, type IV(The 2nd or 3rd grade social worker's duties) was subjected to 11 task elements. 21 task elements performed to either 1st grade social worker or 2nd, 3rd grade social worker by type or uniqueness of social work practices. To allocation of duties by each grade social worker, fitting out of qualification system, the task elements for each grade of social worker must be prescribed by the rules. This allocation of duties by each grade social worker would be utilized to support qualified social work services, and to strengthening of their professional.

The purpose of this study is to derive implications for effective management of the public social worker by investigating the relationship between social support, job attitude and self-esteem of the public social worker. In order to accomplish this research purpose, social support of the public social worker as independent variables, job attitude as a dependent variable, and self-esteem as a parameter were analyzed and the relationship between these variables was analyzed. As a result, emotional, evaluative, material, and informational support, which constitute the social support of the public social worker, have a significant effect on job attitude, and self-esteem has a mediating effect on the relationship between these variables. Based on the results of this analysis, the importance of social support of the public social worker was suggested.
The objective of this study examined the effect of job characteristics on the job satisfaction of social worker employed by 1st social agency, hospitals. Data were collected by 240 social workers. Based on Hackman and Oldham's(1975) theory of core job characteristics, this study was to defined other element of job characteristics, in social worker's duties, focused on moderating effect of self-confidence for job satisfaction, and compared to social worker's job characteristics between 1st social agency and hospitals. The results of this study were summarized as follows; first, job autonomy, feedback among Hackman and Oldham's 5 core job characteristics showed positive influence on job satisfaction. The other job characteristics found out significantly effected social worker's job satisfaction than Hackman and Oldham's 5 core job characteristics. Second, identities of social worker's job, cognition of professional level, necessity, and self-confidence variables were found to have a statistically significant strong relationship with job satisfaction of 1st setting social worker. The other side, necessity, self-confidence, sex, social worker's academic career variables positive influenced medical social worker's job satisfaction. Third, the moderating variables which had significant difference among social worker's working conditions. 1st setting social worker's self-confidence partial moderated the effect of job characteristics on social worker's job satisfaction. But, medical social worker's self-confidence not moderated the effect of job characteristics on job satisfaction. As a result, Social worker's job satisfaction depended on job characteristics and self-confidence. Therefore, to assure the job satisfaction, redesign for social worker's job characteristics, reinforced their self-confidence. Staff-development education program, supportive environment, supervision program is strongly recommended.
The purpose of this study is to measure the social worker's knowledge about facts on aging and attitude toward the elderly between Korea and Japan. and to find out the variables that may influence their attitude. Four hundred and sixty two social workers working in nursing homes were given the questionnaire containing the Kyung San Facts on Aging Quiz to measure the level of knowledge about aging and Yoon (1988)'s scale to find the direction of attitude toward the elderly. The results of this study are analyzed as follows: (1) The Korean social worker's level of knowledge about aging was 63.0%, which was lower than Japanese social worker's level (67.6%). (2) Using 5 points scale. mean of the Korean social worker's attitude toward the elderly was 2.2 (44.8%), which was significantly different from the Japanese social worker's attitude 3.2 (63.4%). (3) Using multiple regression analysis, the social worker's level of knowledge about aging was the most significant predictor to explain the social worker's attitude toward the elderly. The other variables that are also statistically significant predictors of the social workers' attitude were country, personal experience with the elderly. and voluntary experience for the elderly. Especially the significant predictors to explain the Korean social workers' attitude were their levels of knowledge about aging. age, and classification of social worker license. On the other hand. the significant predictors to explain the Japanese social workers' attitude were their levels of knowledge about aging and periods of activity, Based on the research results, implications for practice and education methods for making social workers' attitude toward the elderly more positive are also suggested.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between interpersonal stress and job burnout, turnover intention of social welfare worker's in social welfare center and efficient response of welfare worker's. In order to accomplish this study purpose, the interpersonal stress of social welfare worker's in social welfare center as an independent variable, interpersonal stress as a dependent variable of job burnout and turnover intention, and stress coping ability as a moderating variable were selected. The causal relationship between interpersonal stress and job burnout, turnover intention and the moderating effect of stress coping ability were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the interpersonal stress of social welfare worker's showed a significant effect on job burnout and turnover intention. Also, moderating effects of stress copying ability were significant. Based on the results of this analysis, the theoretical implications and policy implications of this study are suggested, and the directions and limitations of this study are suggested.
This research is involved in looking into the cognition pattern of social worker position of a fourth-year student majoring in Social Welfare. The purpose of this research is to offer a basic data needed for education of the students who are preparing to get a job of a social worker. For this, applying Q methodology, this research made an objective analysis of their subjective response to social worker position targeting the 30 students in the department of social welfare at the four-year-course college located in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do. The research results showed that the cognition pattern of the college students' occupational view on social welfare position could be categorized into the three; The first pattern is a "job-skeptic & reality-evasive" type, who tends to perceive the position of a social worker as the one having a lot of job exhaustion and much workload, showing a pessimistic view on the meaning or a sense of mission of a social worker position. The second pattern is a "practice-centered & specialized-job-seeking type" who tends to think much of practical aspects of a social worker job and to seek after the position of a social worker as a specialized job, and at the same time to rely on the policy or system for a social worker position. The third pattern is a "value-oriented & self-achievement type", who tends to think much of the necessity of value or ethics in putting social welfare into practice and also to make much of self-achievement through the channel of a social welfare worker position. Taken together, it might be possibile to turn out professional human resources, but this research thinks it is more necessary to place the education of values of a social welfare worker.
This study investigated the relation between social worker's beliefs on the nature of scientific knowledge which has been classified objectivism and constructivism and social work practice. As an epistemological position, constructivism is based on a view of knowledge that differs from that of objectivism, which holds that knowledge exists "out there" as objective truth. The focus of this paper is a examination on epistemological beliefs of social worker and social work practice. This paper proves that social work's epistemological beliefs have an effect on the practice modes. This research indicates that social works have a higher constructivist veiws than objectivist veiws on the nature of scientific knowledge. And social worker who have a high level of objectivism show a positive determinative mode. It has suggested that the constructive theory offers useful epistemology to the social worker who should deal with the clients in uncertain situations. In conclusion, a social worker with a high level of constructivism use an approach that creats a more equitable relationship between social worker and client. This perspective will allows cliens to participate in the formulation of theories in practice.
This study introduces the mediating role of social worker's emotional labor in the relationship between person-social welfare value fit and job-related psychological attitudes. This study characterizes emotional labor as surface acting and deep acting, and job-related psychological attitudes as job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study hypothesizes that the social worker's person-social welfare value fit raises job satisfaction and organizational commitment, that social worker's surface acting negatively mediates the relationship between social welfare value fit and psychological attitudes, and that deep acting positively mediates the relationship. The results from this study are as follows. Firstly, social worker's person-social welfare value fit raises job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Secondly, social worker's surface acting fully mediates the relationship between social welfare value fit and organizational commitment. Thirdly, deep acting fully mediates the relationship between social welfare value fit and job satisfaction, and social welfare value fit and organizational commitment. Based on these results, detailed practical and theoretical implications are discussed.
This study attempts to explain how the social-worker empowerment in the field of social work relates to social-work self-efficacy and whether or not the transactional leadership of the leader moderates the relationship between these two variables. Data from 390 social workers working with public and private sector agencies in Seoul were collected. For the questionnaire and analysis, this research uses the Social Worker Empowerment, Social Work Self-Efficacy, and Transactional Leadership scales. This research utilizes a wide range of statistical analyses, such as descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation, reliability analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression, and general linear modeling. The calculations employed the use of SPSS/PC+ 12.0. This research indicates, among other things, that social workers with a high level of social worker empowerment and transactional leadership of the leader show a tendency toward higher social work self-efficacy and that the leader's transactional leadership level plays a moderating function in the relationship between social-worker empowerment and transactional leadership of the leader. In conclusion, a social worker with a low level of leader's transactional leadership shows a relatively greater tendency toward social work self-efficacy when compared to a social worker having a high level of leader's transactional leadership. Social workers and social-work organizations seeking professional practice can benefit from these findings on the relationship between professional behavior and social work self-efficacy with perceived transactional leadership about a team leader as a moderator.
