직장 여성의 외모 관리에 관한 개인적 경험과 신체 이미지: 관리자급 여성들을 중심으로 (Manager-Level Businesswomen's Personal Experiences of Appearance Management and Body Image)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the personal experiences of businesswomen regarding appearance management and their body image. To achieve this, diverse perspectives were employed, including critical, practical, and positive body image perspectives. Interviews were conducted with 17 Korean businesswomen with more than 10 years of work experience. The data were analyzed using a phenomenological approach to understand their lived experiences of appearance management and body image. The participants acknowledged that appearance is important in the workplace - more so for women than for men. They commented that appearance may play an important role in displyaing social attractiveness to strangers, but other elements of social attractiveness such as liveliness or social skills take prominence in established relationships. Businesswomen, particularly those whose professions involve the display of appearance, are more likely to engage in aesthetic labor or the unpaid labor of managing their physical appearance in order to meet expectations at work. In general, however, these women considered appearance management to be a practice of self-care which seems to demonstrate their positive body image. This study has significance in that it strived to understand the subjective, lived experiences of businesswomen, including their thoughts and emotions related to appearance management and body image.

A Study of Developing the Practical work Integrated the Course of Study in Upper Grades

  • Recently, the tendency for young people losing interest in science has accelerated. This tendency is remarkable for not only Japan but also some countries of Asia. It is thought that this tendency was brought from the decrease of the chance to watch the actual manufacturing activities, and the decrease of the real experience which children makes something in their childhood. In order to bring up the capable engineers on such a social background, making a product practice which promotes the understanding of the application of theory for manufacturing products is important in addition to study by the text book. In this study, some practical work materials for the lower grades in the college were developed. Integration of the developed materials and the course of study becomes an effective teaching method of the of subjects on a special field. Arranging this practical work on the learning process makes a high effect of the integrated practical work on the curriculum.

Research Trends of 'One Belt One Road' in Korean Academic Circles

  • This proposed work aims to understand the Korean Academic Circle (KAC)'s research trend on the "One Belt One Road" (OBOR) by employing a quantitative analysis of the recent research articles published by the KAC. To do so, this proposed research has used the well-known network analysis software, Ucinet 6, by which the papers on related topics are collected and filtered from Korea Citation Index. To perform the analytical selection, the proposed work has chosen 'keywords' as the core research object and performed analysis from transverse to longitudinal aspects, and from holistic to individual aspects, respectively; and from this, the KAC's research trend on OBOR is derived. The present work has established that the KAC's attention is continuously increasing on OBOR and has sustainability. Centered on the OBOR, Korean researchers have spread their studies in various dimensions ranging from the issues like China's political economy to Sino-Korea economic and trade exchanges, and so on. The KAC has even combined OBOR with Korea's international development initiatives, which can help Korea benefit from active and sustainable cooperation with China. Moreover, the proposed work has found that Korean researchers have also actively expressed their growing attention, highlighted Korea's interest, and showed concern about China hegemony and Sinocentrism in their recent documented research works.

사회적 지지와 암환자 가족의 삶의 질의 관계에서 돌봄부담감과 내적성장의 매개효과 (A Study of Effect on Quality of Life of Cancer Patient's Caregiver : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Feeling of Burden and Growth)

  • 암은 우리나라의 사망원인 1위로, 환자뿐 아니라 가족의 삶에도 큰 영향을 미친다. 특히, 돌봄책임을 맡고 있는 가족원의 삶의 질은 사회적 지지, 돌봄 부담에 대한 평가, 재평가에 의해 영향을 받는다. 암환자 가족의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위해서는 이들 요인들 간의 유기적인 관계를 밝혀 사회복지 실천 방법을 발전시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 국립암센터를 이용하는 암환자 가족 295명의 사회적 지지, 돌봄 부담감, 내적 성장, 삶의 질을 파악하고, 이들 변수간의 관계를 구조방정식모형을 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 연구모형의 적합성을 검증하였을 때 적합도 지수가 CFI(.951), TLI(.940), RMSEA(.062)으로 좋은 적합도를 보였다. 둘째, 직접효과에 대한 검증결과 사회적 지지의 돌봄 부담감, 내적 성장에 대한 직접효과, 돌봄 부담감의 내적 성장, 삶의 질에 대한 직접효과, 내적 성장의 정신적 삶의 질에 대한 직접효과가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 셋째, 돌봄 부담감, 내적 성장의 매개효과에 대한 검증 결과, 사회적 지지가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 대한 돌봄 부담감의 매개효과, 사회적 지지와 돌봄 부담감이 정신적 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 대한 내적 성장의 매개효과가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 이러한 결과에 따라 암환자 가족의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 사회적 지지, 돌봄부담, 내적성장간의 관계에 대하여 논의하고 사회복지 실천 및 연구를 위한 함의를 제언하였다.

Creating a Culture of Prevention in Occupational Safety and Health Practice

  • The incidence of occupational injuries and diseases associated with industrialization has declined markedly following developments in science and technology, such as engineering controls, protective equipment, safer machinery and processes, and greater adherence to regulations and labor inspections. Although the introduction of health and safety management systems has further decreased the incidence of occupational injuries and diseases, these systems are not effective unless accompanied by a positive safety culture in the workplace. The characteristics of work in the $21^{st}$ century have given rise to new issues related to workers' health, such as new types of work-related disorders, noncommunicable diseases, and inequality in the availability of occupational health services. Overcoming these new and emerging issues requires a culture of prevention at the national level. The present paper addresses: (1) how to change safety cultures in both theory and practice at the level of the workplace; and (2) the role of prevention culture at the national level.

The Evolution of Community Nutrition in the U.S.

  • Drawing from journal articles, community nutrition textbooks, government documents, national conference reports, the author's own work in community programming, and discussions with practicing Community Nutritionists, this article illuminates the scope and character of community nutrition in the United States. It traces the roots of community nutrition in home economics, nutrition, education, communication, social and behavioral sciences, and describes the evolution of theory. And finally it suggests issues to be addressed by community nutrition researchers and practitioners through collaborations that integrate perspectives within community nutrition and strategically cross disciplinary boundaries. These include: 1) theory development and application in research and practice within philosophically consistent perspectives; 2) methodological development (qualitative and quantitative) drawing from the social and behavioral sciences that apply to community nutrition; 3) taking a long view of community nutrition and recognizing that change requires integrated efforts over long periods of time; 4) engaging community stakeholders in research as well as program planning and 5) engaging with community nutritionists from other countries for cross-cultural research and conceptualization. This journal and the Korean Society for Community Nutrition, as the only journal and society expressly devoted to community nutrition, would be the best context for such collaborations.

실행 과정에서의 정체성 이론의 이해와 적용 방안 (Understanding and Applicability of Identity-in-practice Theory)

  • 참여로서의 학습에 대한 관점의 전환은 실행 과정에서의 학습자의 정체성 변화 및 발달(identity world, 정체성 작업)에 관심을 두게 한다. 본 연구는 정체성의 지속적이고 유동적인 과정에 관심을 두며, 그에 따라 정체성 작업이 일어나는 학습자를 둘러싼 구조와 그 구조 속에서 개인의 행위 및 행위력의 발현에 초점을 둔다. 이러한 관점에서 구조, 행위력, 정체성을 변증법적으로 이해하기 위한 이론적 도구로써 Holland et al.(1998)의 실행 과정에서의 정체성(identity-in-practice) 이론을 소개한다. 이 이론을 대표하는 개념은 '인식된 세계', '위치성', '자아 저술'이다. '인식된 세계'는 인간의 행위에 의해 지속적으로 재구성되는 의미의 그물망이자 동시에 인간의 행위를 조각하는 사회적 힘으로 이해되며, '위치성'은 이 세계 속에서 자신의 사회적 위치에 대한 이해를 의미한다. '자아 저술'은 위 두 개념을 종합하는 차원으로서 개인은 인식된 세계 속에서 실행을 통해 다양한 사회적 목소리를 협연하여 자아를 스스로 형성해간다는 의미를 담고 있다. 본 연구는 이 개념을 바탕으로 과학 교육의 선행 연구 분석을 통해 이 이론의 다양한 활용 사례를 기술했다. 그러나 사회문화적 접근을 취하는 이 이론의 특성상 해외 연구 사례가 단순히 우리에게도 적용될 수 없기에, 국내 상황에서 본 이론이 활용될 수 있는 방향을 논의하여 방법론적 도구로서 이 이론의 적용가능성을 확장하고자 하였다. 다층적이고 지속적이며 누적적인 정체성 작업을 강조하는 본 이론의 도입이 시대적으로 요구되는 과학 교육 개혁의 지평을 넓히는 자원으로 활용되기를 기대한다.

빈곤 한부모여성 자조집단의 변화에 관한 참여실행연구 (Participatory Action Research on Changing of Poor Single Mother Self-help Group)

  • 본 연구는 장기간의 활동을 통해 다양한 변화 과정을 경험해온 빈곤 한부모여성 자조집단을 대상으로, 정체기 이후 자조집단 참여자들이 변화를 주도하게 된 동기와 과정 및 전략을 살펴보고 그 변화가 참여자들과 소속집단, 기관에 주는 시사점을 분석함으로써 자조집단이 지향해야 할 실천방향을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 참여자와 실천가가 협력적으로 대안을 모색하는 참여실행 연구방법(PAR)을 적용하여, 문제도출, 지역조사 및 계획, 실행, 평가 및 검토의 4단계에 걸친 연구과정을 통해 변화의 과정과 내용을 분석하고 그에 따른 사회복지실천의 함의를 고찰하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 자조집단 참여자들의 변화 동기는 주체적으로 활동방향을 결정해야 한다는 문제인식에서 비롯되었으며, 그 결과 자신들의 역량을 고려한 활동모색을 변화의 필요성으로 도출하였다. 둘째, 변화를 모색하는 과정에서 참여자들은 변화의 범위와 내용을 주도적으로 결정했으며, 그 결과 정서적 지지를 넘어서 '목적성 있는 활동'을 지향하고자 하였다. 셋째, 변화를 위한 구체적인 전략으로 '의미있는 활동'이 제시되었으며 이는 지역자원봉사활동과 한부모 참여자 강사활동으로 계획·실행되었다. 결론적으로 자조집단이 지향해야 할 변화는, 참여자들의 주체적 인식의 변화를 기반으로 실천가 중심에서 참여자 중심의 실천으로 실천주체가 변화해야 할 것으로 나타났으며, 이를 통해 자신의 삶을 조성하는 사회적 조건에 대한 통제력을 갖도록 사회적 차원의 임파워먼트를 강화하는 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 자조집단의 한계를 극복하기 위해 공동체적 접근으로의 변화를 고려해보아야 할 필요성이 있는 것으로 제시되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 사회복지실천에 주는 함의를 제시하였다.

가정어린이집 보육교사들의 권리실제에 관한 질적 연구 (A Study on the Rights Practice of Childcare Teachers in Home Daycare Centers)

  • Objective: The present study examined how childcare teachers at home daycare centers perceive their rights as teachers and what kind of rights situations pertain to them at their respective daycare centers. Methods: Adopting a qualitative research method approach, this study conducted focus group interviews to collect empirical data. The participants were childcare teachers and directors at home daycare centers, which were shown to have relatively poor work environments compared to other types of daycare centers Results: The findings revealed that the participants at home daycare centers perceived their rights as childcare teachers to be extremely vulnerable. It was shown that their rights could not be protected in various frameworks involving mutual relations between teachers and directors, the Infant Care Act and childcare policy, and social perceptions that fail to recognize them as professionals. Conclusion: The fingdings from the present study contribute to our understanding of the rights situation faced by childcare teachers at home daycare centers and to the social discourse on finding ways to realize the teachers' full rights as childcare professionals.

작업만족과 Ergonomics에 관한 개념적 고찰 (A Conceptional Review of Work Satisfaction & Ergonomics)

  • In this paper an attempt is tried to answer the following questions : What does ergonomics have to do with work satisfaction\ulcorner Is there more satisfaction when ergonomics have applied in the design of work\ulcorner Is ergonomics important for work satisfaction\ulcorner This paper is started by defining the concept of satisfaction and ergonomics which is still at a comparatively early stage of development, and the effect of this in practice is that the majority of ergonomics assignments involve research. And then there discussions difficult theories of motivation and satisfaction such as Maslow' theory and Horzberg's theory. And in this paper I'll try to formulate the logical consequences of those theories for the relation between ergonomics and satisfaction. Finally I'll conclude with some ideas about the significance of ergonomics satisfaction. The level of satisfaction experienced with one's work is a complete function of the degree to which different values connected with work and with its concomitant results are attained, the opportunities perceived for the attainment of these values, the relative advantages and disadvantages of the work situation compared with that of other people, and personality and cultural determinants. As for ergonomics, the ergonomist's comprehension will need in future to encompass more of the emotional, attitudinal and motivational facts of working people. Ergonomically - designed work will not produce high degrees of satisfaction, but absence of ergonomics in design will be connected with some dissatisfaction. So this paper suggest s that ergonomics has some significance for work satisfaction and that social Psychological efforts to enhance work satisfaction cannot easily succeed without taking into account human-factors principles.
