  • This paper proposes a new series-connected diode rectifier which draws sinusoidal input currents. The proposed rectifier system is configured by adding an auxiliary circuit to the conventional 12-pulse series-connected diode rectifier and employing a current injection technique. A low kVA (0.02Po (PU) ) active current source injects a triangular current results in near sinusoidal input current from the utility with less than 1% THD. The resulting system is suitable for high voltage and high power applications. Experimental results is provided from a 220VA rectifier system.

  • This paper investigates the varying characteristics of the performance degradation resulting from the different combination of wordlength in fixed-point implementation of recursive sinusoidal transform. The performance degradation is analytically derived in the form of noise-to-signal power ratio. The best wordlength combination is shown to be the equal length distribution of the given number of bits between the transform coefficients and the data. The analysis results are also verified through the computer simulations.

  • We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures subjected to sinusoidal harmonic excitation with pin-ends. In nonlinear dynamics, examining the characteristics of attractor on the phase plane and investigating the dynamic buckling process are very important thing for understanding why unstable phenomena are sensitively originated by various initial conditions. In this study, the direct and the indirect snap-buckling of shallow arches considering geometrical nonlinearity are investigated numerically and compared with the step excitation critical load.

  • In this paper A switched mode AC/DC three phase boost converter with high power factor and sinusoidal input current waveform is analyzed and simulated. The proposed converter retain high power factor and sinusoidal input current waveform even under electric arc welder load. It is shown that experimental result and simulation waveform yield a sinusoidal input current waveform at high power factor.

  • The equilibrium path of shallow sinusoidal arches supported by hinges at both ends is investigated. The displacement increment method is used to get the solution of the nonlinear differential equations for these structures and to plot the equilibrium paths by the results. Using the equilibrium paths, the relations between the position of buckling point and buckling type for the case of sinusoidal distributed loads are inferred. From the result that the buckling type changes according to the normalized rise of arch, it is also shown that the arch rise is the governing factor to stability regions

  • Sinusoidal current tracking inverters have substantial advantages in high performance acdrive systems and various control strategies for the inverter have been proposed by several researchers. This paper develops a sinusoidal current tracking inverter with neural networks. The neural network are trained to follow a set of reference current waveforms by erro back propagation algorithm and the trained neural networks are applied to the current control. We compare neural networks method with conventional current control methods (fixed band and sinusiidal band hystersis methods) and simulation results are presented.

  • According to recent researches, apparent power in a non-sinusoidal single phase system can be represented with geometric algebra. In this paper, the geometric algebra is applied to apparent power defined in a multi-line system having transmission lines with frequency-dependency under non-sinusoidal conditions.

  • In this paper, we want to implement a noise canceller by using FIR filter on DSP(Digital Signal Processor). The FIR filter was designed by Blackman window together with desired band width and center frequency. We adopt Motorola DSP56002 and Crystal CS4215 (A/D and D/A converter) for our purpose. we generate input sinusoidal signals and noises by differential equations and pseudo random sequences on DSP also. The input signal including sinusoidal and noise passes through the FIR filter. The FIR filer output is a sinusoidal signal with noise reduced.

  • This paper presents methods for the compensation of sinusoidal disturbances with unknown amplitude, phase, and time-varying frequency in nonlinear systems. In the previous disturbance accommodation methods, the sinusoidal disturbance with unknown time-invariant frequency was considered. In the proposed method, the disturbance with unknown time-varying frequency is compensated. As for the control structure, two control inputs are designed separately in such a way that one of them is designed for the nonlinear system control without considering the disturbance, and the other one uses the disturbance estimate obtained from the disturbance accommodating observer. The stability analysis is done considering the disturbance estimation error and the numerical simulation demonstrates the proposed approach.

  • An adaptive state observer is presented for a class of LTI systems that have a sinusoidal disturbance in the measurement output. Adaptation rules are developed for identifying the unknown sinusoidal disturbance signal from the system output. For the application of the identification result to the state estimation problem, the sinusoidal signal with arbitrary initial phase has been considered in this paper. In order to test the performance of proposed algorithm, comparative computer simulations have been carried out with an existing robust observer. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
