  • Today, much terminologies such as noise spectrum, Sharpness, contrast, MTF had been defined for Image quality revaluation of radiation Image. Since development of Xeroradiography In the 1970s, Digital radiation detector that use amorphous selenium was developed. The aim of this research is to analyze physical phenomenon of digital radiation detector that use amorphous selenium. Result of Monte Carlo simulations on amorphous selenium based on physical properties(creation of electron-hole pairs) by induced x-ray are described. From the simulation, intrinsic point spread function(PSF) was found and used to observe modulation transfer function(MTF). We investigated how PSF and MTF changed with various x-ray energy. This result can be used to design digital x-ray detector based on a-Se.

  • To study the effect of solvents and counterions in Z-DNA crystal of d(5BrC-G-5BrC-G-5BrC-G), we performed the local energy analysis and then molecular dynamics simulations. Since counterions raise serious caging problems in crystal simulations, it is very important to search for the possible positions before simulations. For this purpose, the local energy analysis was done for the whole crystal volume. It is shown from our simulation that counterions along with water molecules play a bridging role to bind adjacent oligomers so as to form the crystal. In this crystal, each water molecule bound to Gua-N2H, either directly or indirectly, hydrates the adjacent anionic phosphate oxygen, and thus assists Gua to be in a syn position. From the simulation, the average root-mean-square deviation of allthe DNA heavy atom coordinates from the X-ray data is $0.99{\AA}$ . The bases are less deviated from the X-ray positions than the phosphates. The temperature factors from the simulation are consistent with those from the X-ray refinement, showing that the phosphates are more mobile than the bases.

  • In this study, we develop a model of an open center and load-sensing system and for a main control valve to analyze system characteristics and efficiency using SimulationX. In order to analyze the operating characteristics of the pressure and flow of the main control valve of an open center system, a test was performed at each port. The reliability of the model was confirmed by comparing the similarity of the analysis results with the test results before analyzing the operating characteristics of the system. Development of the load sensing main control valve was performed by adding a flow sharing valve and a notched shape to the open center system based on it's the proven reliability. The authors performed the simulation under the same load conditions in order to compare the efficiency of the systems. Additionally, the combined operation performance was investigated by means of analyzing the characteristics of flow distribution under different load conditions.

  • This paper proposes a 2x oversampling method with a smart sampling for a clock and data recovery(CDR) circuit in a 2.5Gbps serial data link. In the conventional 2x oversampling method, the "bang-bang" operation of the phase detection produces a systematic jitter in CDR. The smart sampling in phase detection helps the CDR to remove the "bang-bang" operation and to improve the jitter performance. The CDR with the proposed 2x oversampling method is designed using Samsung 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ process parameters and verified by simulation. Simulation result shows the proposed 2x oversampling method removes the systematic jitter.e systematic jitter.

  • Performance test of servo control system that is used ultra-precision positioning system with single plane X-Y stage is performed by simulation with Matlab. Analyzed for previous control algorithm and adapted for modem control theory, dual servo algorithm is developed by minimum order observer, and stability priority on controller are secured. Through the simulation and experiments on ultra precision positioning, stability and priority on ultra-precision positioning system with single plane X-Y stage and control algorithm are secured by using Matlab with Simulink and ControlDesk made in dSPACE

  • In this study, actuator, sensor, guide, power transmission element and control method are considered for ultra-precision positioning apparatus. Through previous process, single plane X-Y stage with ultra-precision positioning is manufactured. Global stage for the purpose of materialization with robust system, is combined by using AC servo motor and ball screw and rolling guide. And ultra-precision positioning system is developed by micro stage with elastic hinge type and piezo element. global servo and micro servo for the purpose of materialization positioning accuracy with nm(nanometer) are controlled simultaneously by using incremental encoder and laser interferometer as displacement measurement sensor. Through previous process, ultra-precision positioning system(100mm stroke and $\pm$ l0nm positioning accuracy) with single plane X-Y stage are materialized.

  • This paper presents an accurate algorithm for geometric calibration of X-ray imaging system. Calibration is a very important process for improving an imaging system performance. There has been a lot of previous works using linear camera modeling technique, where lens distortion is neglected and/or center of distortion is assumed to be known. Geometrical distortion of image intensifier, however, is very large and its center of distortion should be calculated. This paper presents a new calibration method to estimate the intensifier position and orientation, scale factor, distortion coefficient, magnification factor, and center of distortion using the least square method. We investigate the properties of the algorithm by computer simulation. Simulation results show that the parameters can be estimated accurately using the proposed algorithm.

  • The temperature distribution in the weldment is not uniform because a weldment is locally heated. Thermal plastic deformation results from the local expansion and shrinkage by the heating and cooling of metal. Therefore, residual stresses and distortion occur in the weldment. In this study, we had conducted on the weld thermal cycle simulation that is supposed as the HAZ on SS400 steel and STS304 steel. The residual stresses that were obtained from the drawing and the weld thermal cycle simulation were estimated by X-ray diffraction. We also carried out ultrasonic test for the weld thermal cycle simulated specimens, and then conducted on nondestructive evaluation by the ultrasonic parameters obtained ultrasonic test. From the results, residual stresses of weld thermal cycle simulated specimens after the residual stress removal heat treatment are lower than that of the drawing.

  • 315Fr compressor motor exceeds vibration specifications. To find the reason, first a modal impact test with free-free condition is done. Second a modal test with fixed condition is done. Thereafter the test results are compared with FEM simulation results. Using free-free condition modal impact test, FEM simulation conditions (boundary, mesh..) are modified. The motor has rolling motion around 120Hz. FEM simulation also shows same result. FEM simulation will be used to develop other series compressor motors. Using this, manufacturing test model and doing test will be useless.

Analysis of Beam Hardening of Modulation Layers for Dual Energy Cone-beam CT (에너지 변조 필터로 구현한 이중 에너지 콘빔 CT의 에너지 스펙트럼 평가 연구)

  • Dual energy cone-beam CT can distinguish two materials with different atomic compositions. The principle of dual energy cone-beam CT based on modulation layer is that higher energy spectrum can be acquired at blocked x-ray window. To evaluate the possibility of modulation layer based dual energy cone-beam CT, we analyzed x-ray spectrum for various thicknesses of modulation layers by Monte Carlo simulation. To compare with the results of simulation, the experiment was performed on prototype cone-beam CT for 50~100 kVp with CdTe XR-100T detector. As the result of comparing, the mean energy of energy spectrum for 80 kVp are well matched with that of simulation. The mean energy of energy spectrum for 80 and 120 kVp were increased as 1.67 and 1.52 times by 2.0 mm modulation layer, respectively. We realized that the virtual dual energy x-ray source can be generated by modulation layer.
