The dynamics of the interaction between the wheel and rail must be considered when investigating the application of control strategy to a traction motor for high speed railway system. So this paper describes a dynamics model of the wheel rail adhesion characteristics and simple adhesion control strategy. Simulations are performed on the model of korea-high speed railway system using SIMULINK. With simple adhesion control strategy advanced characteristics of the system is showed in aspects of driveability.
Recently many studies have been performed for variable speed control of induction motor. Direct Torque Control(DTC) is emerging technique for variable speed control of PWM inverter driven induction motor. DTC allows the direct control of stator flux and instantaneous torque through simple algorithm. In this paper ASIC design technique using VHDL is applied to DTC based speed control of induction motor. ASIC for DTC based speed control is designed through the description of coordinate transformation, speed controller stator flux and torque estimator, stator flux and torque controller, stator flux position detector. FSM(Finite State Machine) and inverter voltage switching vector. Finally the above system has been implemented on the FPGA (XC4052XL-PG411). Simulation and experiment has been performed to verify the performance of the designed ASTC.
Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has the advantages of simple structure, low rotor inertia, and high poer rate per unit volume. However, position sensor isessential in SRM in order to synchronize the phase excitation to the rotor position. The position sensors increase the cost of drive system, and tend to reduce system reliability. This paper investigtes the speed control of sensorless SRM. The proposed system consists of position detection circuit, dwell angle controller, digital logic commutator, PI speed controller and 4-phase inverter. The performances in the proposed system are verified through the experiment.
Currently, switched reluctance motors are studied to increase energy efficient. The switched reluctance motor is possible to control higher speed and torque than the induction motors and composition is simple. Current and rotor speed are considered to install the switched reluctance motor. In this paper, Simulink model of the switched reluctance motor is suggested and the adaptive controller is applied to the model for the speed control. Asymmetry converter including the IGBT is concerned with real-time control and the speed of switched reluctance motor is controlled by installing adaptive controller.
Majority of industrial robots are controlled by a simple joint servo control of joint actuators. In this type of control, the performance of control is influenced greatly by the joint interaction torques including Coriolis and centrifugal forces, which act as disturbance torques to the control system. As the speed of the robot increases, the effect of this disturbance torque increases, and makes the high speed-high precision control more difficult to achieve. In this paper, the joint disturbance torque of robots is analyzed. The joint disturbance torque is defined using the coefficients of dynamic equation of motion, and for the case of a 2DOF planar robot, the conditions for the maximum joint disturbance torques are identified, and the effect of link parameters and joint variables on the joint disturbance torque are examined. Then, a solutioin to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque are examined. then, a solution to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque during a straight line motion. the proposed method is illustrated using computer simulation. the proposed solution method cna be applied to the class of robots that are controlled by independent joint sevo control, which includes the vast majority of industrial robots. By minimizing the joint disturbacne torque during the motion, the simple joint servo controlled robot can move with improved path tracking accuracy at high speed.

This paper describes a simple vector control scheme for the wound rotor type induction motors(WRIM) without the additional speed sensor in order to remove the external resistor bank which is usually adapted for the WRIM speed control. The motor angular speed is obtained indirectly from the slip angular speed is obtained indirectly from the slip angular speed and the slip angular speed is estimated by detecting the rotor currents only. Because the motor parameters are not included in the estimation algorithm, the proposed algorithm is free from the variation of the motor parameters and the robust sensorless vector control can be achieved. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified through the digital simulation.
The cold staring issue of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) is a chronic problem in the field of PMSM sensorless drives. A traditional starting method, called the I-F method, is widely adopted because of its simple structure. However, when using this method, the pre-defined magnitude and frequency of the starting current should be changed according to the condition of the load and machine inertia. In this paper, a smart and simple algorithm for the cold starting of PMSM is proposed. In the proposed method, an integrated control angle from the estimated electrical rotor speed is used for vector control such as the indirect vector control of the induction machine. Thus, very stable cold starting is performed regardless of the machine load condition or inertia changing.
Disk radial runout creates a periodic relative motion between the laser beam spot and tracks formed on an optical disk. While only focus control is activated, the periodic relative motion yields sinusoid-like waves in the tracking error signal, where one cycle of the sinusoid-like waves corresponds to one track. The frequency of the sinusoid-like waves varies depending on the disk rotational speed and the amount of the disk radial runout. If the frequency of the tracking error signal in the off-track state is too high due to large radial runout of the disk, it is not a simple matter to begin track-following control stably. It might take a long time to reach a steady state or tracking control might fail to reach a stable steady state in the worst case. This article proposes a simple method for reducing the relative motion caused by the disk radial runout in the off-track state. The relative motion in the off-track state is effectively reduced by a drive input obtained through measurements of the tracking error signal and simple calculations based on the measurements, which helps reduce the transient response time of the track-following control. The validity of the proposed method is verified through an experiment using an optical disk drive.
Single phase induction motor is used widely in various electronic appliances by advantage that is simple structure and a low-cost. As high starting torque characteristic is mostly used capacitor run single phase induction motor. In this paper, it is applied that speed controller of Capacitor run single phase induction motor of digital way used general microprocessor, and phase control method used average voltage. Torque get non-linearity to domain of low speed. Unstable domain of low speed is applied of integral cycle control. so it is wide that Speed control domain. Also, PID controller is used to improve characteristic of fast response. The validity of proposed method is verified from simulation and experiment result
This paper presents a fuzzy adaptive speed controller that guarantees a fast dynamic behavior and a precise trajectory tracking capability for surfaced-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs). The proposed fuzzy adaptive control strategy is simple and easy to implement. In addition, the proposed speed controller is very robust to system parameter and load torque variations because it does not require any accurate parameter values. The global stability of the proposed control system is analytically verified. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy adaptive speed controller, both simulation and experimental results are shown under motor parameter and load torque variations on a prototype SPMSM drive system.
