해수에서 철근콘크리트의 철근 방식에 대한 도료의 효과 (Effects of Different Paints on Steel Rods Anticorrosion of Reinforced Concrete in Salt Water)

  • The objectives of this paper were to measure the bond strengths of reinforced concrete in which the steel rods were coated with five different kinds of anticorrosion paints, and to compare their prevention effects in salt water. The paints used in the study were epoxy resin I . II . III, Z.R. P., and silicone resin, which were applied at rates recommended by the manufacturers. The bond strengths were measured on the 7-, 14-, and 28-th days after molding. Corrosion conditions of coated steel plate under fresh water, seawater, 10 % salt water, and 20% salt water, were inspected every month during four months test peoriods, respectively. The results obtained from tests are summarized as follows: 1. Paint-coating may reduce the bond strengths of reinforced concrete. Silicone resin paint showed some 20% reduction in the strength compared to those without the paint. However, the other paints seemed not to significantly affect the strength. 2. Picture analyses showed that epoxy resin I and II significantly prevented corrosion steel plates in seawater. Epoxy resin I and silicone resin coating did not do a good job in corrosion prevention. Z.R. P. paint was found to be moderate as preventive coating paint. 3. Varying soluble salt contents had little effects on the corrosion prevention of tested paints. 4. Epoxy resin I and II were found to be appropriate as a coating material to prevent the corrosion of steel rods in seawater. Z.R.P. may also be used for the purpose.

안료분산 및 희석용 실리콘/아크릴수지의 배합비에 따른 고내후성 물성비교 (Weatherability Comparison with Changing Mixing Ratios of Mill-Base and Let-Down Silicone/Acrylic Resins)

  • Three different weather-resistant coatings were fabricated with the various weight ratios of a mill-base silicone/acrylic resin to let-down silicone /acrylic resin at 2:8, 3:7, and 4:6 respectively. The prepared coatings were tested to investigate the effect of composition of weather-resistant coatings on the physical properties. The thermal stability, salt spray exposure, and weather-resistance were improved with the increased silicone content. It was concluded that the optimum retio of mill-base silicone/acrylic resin to let-down silicone/acrylic resin would be 2:8 and the coating with 30 wt% of silicone content would have high weather-resistance.

RTV 실리콘 고무의 표면열화와 내오손 특성과의 상관관계 (Relation between Surface degradation and Anti-pollution Characteristics in RTV Silicone Rubber)

  • In this paper we investigated the relation between the surface degradations and anti-pollution characteristics of Room Temperature Vulcanized(RTV) silicone rubber coating that has different roughness through immersing into saline water. We utilized several analytic techniques such as atomic force microscopy(AFM) scaning electron microscopy(SEM) contact angle Salt Deposit Density(SDD) and average leakage current under the condition of salt fog. It is found that the surface roughness of treated RTV silicone rubber increased and the hydrophobicity of sample surface decreased with increasing the duration o immersion into water due to the erosion of base polymer the melting down alumina trihydrate(ATH) and the diffusion of Low Molecular weight(LMW) fluid. Despite the roughness of surface had been increased by water immersion excellant anti-pollution and recovery characteristics were maintained and SDD saturated to 0.1~0.14mg/cm$^2$. The average leakage current under salt fog increased with surface roughness. Measurement of average leakage current will be helpful to investigate surface degradation and lifetime expectation of RTV silicone coating.

  • Room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber has been widely used to coat porcelain insulators to render water repellency to prevent formation of water film on the surface and thus to suppress the leakage current and consequently flashover. However, the electrical property and the hydrophobicity of RTV silicone rubber coating under outdoor condition may be influenced by many environmental factors. In this studyvarious treatments, such as salt-fog, salt water immerging and UV irradiation were applied to the samples to investigate the change of the electrical property and hydrophobicity. As a result the leakage current increased and contact angle decreased asthe degradation time is longer. But the degraded RTV silicone rubber has recovered its hydrophobicity during the drying time in ambient condition because LMW(Low Molecular Weight) silicone fluid diffused from the bulk to the surface.

  • The preparation, characterization, and bio-testing of biocide incorporated silicone coatings for marine applications have been conducted. Derivatives of the biocide, Triclosan (5-chloro-2-(2, 4-dichlorophenoxy) phenol), were used to covalently attach the biocide moiety to a silicone backbone. The synthetic process allowed for control of the resulting coating's mechanical properties as well as antifouling/fouling release performance in laboratory and ocean site testing. The test results showed significantly reduce macro fouling with sustained fouling release characteristics for the coatings produced.

증발 코팅법으로 증착된 광유와 실리콘 오일 윤활제의 마찰 저감 특성 (Friction Reduction Properties of Evaporation Coated Petroleum and Silicone Oil Lubricants)

  • As the size of mechanical components decreases, capillary forces and surface tension become increasingly significant. A major problem in maintaining high reliability of these small components is that of large frictional forces due to capillary action and surface tension. Unlike the situation with macro-scale systems, liquid lubrication cannot be used to reduce friction of micro-scale components because of the excessive capillary and drag forces. In this work, the feasibility of using evaporation to coat a thin film of organic lubricant on a solid surface was investigated with the aim of reducing friction. Petroleum and silicone oils were used as lubricants to coat a silicon substrate. It was found that friction could be significantly reduced and, furthermore, that the effectiveness of this method was strongly dependent on the coating conditions.

  • Optical characteristics including the view angle and color temperature uniformity of LED packages with an integrated lens fabricated by compression molding method are investigated according to lens shape, lens materials, and phosphor coating methods. Four types of lens shape are designed and their optical output power dependence on the refractive index of silicone encapsulant are evaluated. Also, spatial color temperature uniformities of packages fabricated with different phosphor coating methods-direct coating on a chip vs. uniformly mixed with silicone encapsulant- are compared at various view angles. As the result, it is found that phosphor coating method is more effective on color temperature uniformity than lens shape. The maximum color temperature difference of a package with direct coating of phosphor on a chip is 1,340K according to the view angle at the color temperature of 5,000K, and that of a package with uniformly mixed phosphor is 250K, which indicates 1,090K improvement of color uniformity for the latter case.

실리콘 코팅을 이용한 poly(ethylene naphthalate) 고온용 방열 필름의 제조 (Preparation of Poly(ethylene naphthalate) Film Coated with Silicones for High Temperature Insulator)

  • The surface of poly(ethylene naphthalate) film applicable to high temerature insulator for convection microwave oven was modified with silicone coating solutions in the presence of silane crosslinking agent. The structure and properties of the PEN films were investigated by using Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, viscometry, microscopy, and tensile tests. The experimental results showed that the coating with silicone enhanced thermal stability up to $200^{\circ}C$, and slightly lowered the tensile strength and elongation of the PEN films. Judging from dimensional stability results the silicone coated PEN films can not be used for higher temperature insulator above $230^{\circ}C$. Serious dimensional contraction of films was obtained during heat treatment at $250^{\circ}C$ even for 1h. However, the surface of those films still have same chemical structure of silicones. Therefore, If we use PEN film prestretched at $230^{\circ}C$ as base one it will be possible to prepare a high temperature insulator up to $230^{\circ}C$. Conclusively, a silicone coated PEN film can be suitable for the application to convection microwave oven door insulator at high temperature up to $230^{\circ}C$.

Compton 산란선을 이용한 아연계 전기도금강판 표면의 Slicone Resin Film 두께측정 (The Thickness Determination of Silicone Resin on Zinc Electroplated Steels using Compton Scattering)

  • X-ray Compton 산란선의 강도를 측정하여 내지문처리재(Anti-fingerprint Steel)의 표면에 Coating 되어 있는 Silicone resin film의 두께를 신속하게 측정할 수 있는 새로운 분석방법을 연구하였다. Silicone resin과 같은 유기수지들은 C, H, O, Si 등과 같은 경원소들로 구성되어 있어 compton 산란선의 강도가 높게 나타나는데 이러한 성질을 이용, X-ray tube로부터 발생된 RhK$_{\alpha}$ 선을 시료표면에 조사한 후 발생된 RhK$_{\alpha}$ compton 산란선의 강도를 측정하여 silicone resin film의 두께를 구하였다. 검량곡선 작성결과 0.2 ~ 5.0 ${mu}$m 범위에서 직선성을 나타냈으며 두께측정에 대한 정확도는 0.22 ${mu}$m 이었다.
