영상 기반 3차원 형상 추출 및 가시화 (Determination and Visualization of Three-Dimensional Shape Based on Images)

  • We propose an image based three-dimensional shape determination system. The shape, and thus the three-dimensional coordinate information of the 3-D object, is determined solely from captured images of the 3-D object from a prescribed set of viewpoints. The approach is based on the shape from silhouette (SFS) technique and the efficacy of the SFS method is tested using a sample data set. This system may be used to visualize the 3-D object efficiently, or to quickly generate initial CAD data for reverse engineering purposes. The proposed system potentially may be used in three dimensional design applications such as 3-D animation and 3-D games.

미니스커트의 실루엣과 길이변화에 따른 시각적 평가 (A Study on the Visual Evaluation of Changes in the Silhouettes and Length of Miniskirts)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the visual effects and images according to changes in the silhouettes and length of miniskirt. The silhouettes of the miniskirt were classified into two different categories according to side line, H-line and A-line. We altered the length of the miniskirt in five categories with changes in 25cm, 27.5cm, 30cm, 32.5cm, and 35cm. For the visual evaluation, 10 stimuli were placed in mannequins, and were estimated by the experts in the fashion design. For the visual evaluation according to changes in the silhouettes and length of the miniskirt, we used 13 pairs of items to find the visual effects, and 23 pairs of adjectives to measure the visual images. The stimuli and adjectives were randomly given to the evaluators and were evaluated by the 7-Point Likert Type Scale. The data have analyzed by frequency, t-test, factor analysis, anova, scheffe's test and the MCA method. According to the factor analysis of the visual effects of the miniskirt, the result was classified into 3 factors: the thickness of the lower body, the length of the lower body, and the shape of the lower body. According to factor analysis of the visual image of the miniskirt, the result was classified into 4 factor: personality, attraction, elegance, and activity. The silhouettes of miniskirt had more positive visual effects and images in A-Line than in H-Line. Among the visual effects of miniskirts, the length affected the thickness and length of the lower body more than the silhouette did and, the silhouette had more effects on the shape of the lower body than the length did. And shorter the skirts, stronger the image of personality. However, 32.5cm and 35cm miniskirts are estimated to be more attractive than excessively short skirts. There are many differences in the image of personality and activity according to the changes in the length of miniskirts.

바로크(Baroque) 양식 시대 서양 남성복에 나타난 남성의 몸 이미지 (Male Body Image Appearing on the Western Men's Costume in the Baroque Era)

  • This research seeks to analyze western men's costume in the Baroque era in relation to men's physical beauty from its most detailed and interesting perspective to fomulate a plausible reasoning related to the aesthetic sense of body as expressed in men's costume. This research used national and international books, theses and internet data upon which to base a literature review for a correct understanding of Baroque style and at the same time empirical research to analyze the body image expressed in men's costume. The Baroque style expressed in the 17th century costume offered a dynamic feeling through wavy curves, and its brilliant and colorful decorations created a passionate and charming mood resembling a flame. Accordingly, this research studied the body image as it appeared in the form of 17th century western men's costume by dividing it into the contact beauty of the human body and the manner of hiding the architectural beauty of the human body. First, the exposed silhouette by clothing coming into contact with the human body could be found mainly in upper-class men's costume in the first half of the 17th century. The shorter and tighter doublets and knee breeches could be analyzed in terms of erotic imagery that emphasized masculinity, aristocratic imagery that stressed a distinctive status, and geometric imagery that expressed a triangular pattern. Second, the constructive expression by hiding the human body could be found in upper-class men's costume starting in the mid-17 century. The wearing of the justaucorps could be studied in terms of how it came into contact with the beauty of the human body but also how this clothing style the hid the architectural beauty of human body.

조명과 배경에 강인한 동적 임계값 기반 손 영상 분할 기법 (An Illumination and Background-Robust Hand Image Segmentation Method Based on the Dynamic Threshold Values)

  • 본 논문에서는 조명과 배경에 강인한 동적임계값을 이용한 손 영상 분할방법을 제안한다. 먼저 시간단위 입력 차영상을 구하여 움직이는 물체에 대한 손의 실루엣을 추출한다 그 후, 추출된 손 실루엣에 해당하는 영상의 R,G,B 히스토그램 분석을 통하여 R,G,B 각각에 대한 임계구간을 동적으로 구한다. 마지막으로 획득된 동적 임계값을 이용하여 영상에서 손영역을 분할한 다음 모폴로지, 연결요소 분석, 플러드필 연산을 이용한 잡음 제거를 수행한다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제시하는 기법은 기존의 비전 기술을 통한 손 인식 기법들과 비교하여 별도의 고정임계값을 두지 않고 실행시간에 정확한 임계값을 추출 할 수 있으며, 다양한 배경과 조명에 대해서도 정확하게 손을 분할할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제안한 기법은 혼합 현실 응용을 위한 사용자 인터페이스로 사용될 수 있다.

An Approach to 3D Object Localization Based on Monocular Vision

  • Reconstruction of 3D objects from a single view image is generally an ill-posed problem because of the projection distortion. A monocular vision based 3D object localization method is proposed in this paper, which approximates an object on the ground to a simple bounding solid and works automatically without any prior information about the object. A spherical or cylindrical object determined based on a circularity measure is approximated to a bounding cylinder, while the other general free-shaped objects to a bounding box or a bounding cylinder appropriately. For a general object, its silhouette on the ground is first computed by back-projecting its projected image in image plane onto the ground plane and then a base rectangle on the ground is determined by using the intuition that touched parts of the object on the ground should appear at lower part of the silhouette. The base rectangle is adjusted and extended until a derived bounding box from it can enclose the general object sufficiently. Height of the bounding box is also determined enough to enclose the general object. When the general object looks like a round-shaped object, a bounding cylinder that encloses the bounding box minimally is selected instead of the bounding box. A bounding solid can be utilized to localize a 3D object on the ground and to roughly estimate its volume. Usefulness of our approach is presented with experimental results on real image objects and limitations of our approach are discussed.

밀리터리 패션에 나타난 성적 이미지 연구 - 1990년대 여성복을 중심으로 - (A Study on Gender Images Expressed in Military Fashion - Basis on a Women's wear in the 1990's -)

  • The purpose of this study is understanding modern woman's various aesthetic values and aesthetic sense through observing expression aspects of gender images in the 1990s military fashion and analyzing their aesthetic characteristics and formative factors. Gender images in military fashion have expressed the masculine image of authoritative image and offensive image and offensive image, and the feminine image of conservative image and ostentatious image, sensual image. The authoritative image showed authority and dignity of military uniform by using the classic military uniform's image. This spoke for desire of women to rise their position. Heroism and androcentrism affected as its formation factor. The offensive image destroyed original dignified image of military uniform by that resistance to authoritative image and existing gender identity appeared as way-out form and deconstructive expression. Anti-establishment spirit, resistance to gender identity, and deconstructionism affected as its formation factor. The conservative image expressed military fashion only with slim and soft silhouette, curved line, color, and simple details by magnifying feminity. Fallen man's authority affected as its formation factor. The ostentatious image expressed military fashion with magnifying accessories such as gold button and belt by women who wanted to display ostentatiously their social position and charm. The aspiration for class of elite affected as its formation factor. The sensual image intended to show erotic voluptuous beauty of woman's body by indirect and direct body exposure. Narcissism, desire to show, and sexual amusement affected as its formation factor.

섬유소재를 이용한 한국적 이미지의 문화상품 디자인개발 (A Cultural Product Design Development of Korean Image by the Use of Fabric Materials)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural products design of korean image using fabrics. The study is carry out in literature research methods and make sample product. We examine existing researches about cultural product design development to understand developed items, materials, and design directions. The brainstorming method and the established literature researches were used to obtain the design components of Korean image. A cultural products design was developed into the decorative structural details. The results can be summarized as follows: Korean image is pure, passive, gentle, small, and lasting life-force at weeds and wild flowers. Korean form is rounded curve and soft silhouette as streamy, not exaggerate. Korean color is not a finishing treatment, non-dyed natural color, or pastel, light greyish, and dull tone. Korean textile is a natural materials as linen, ramie, and coarse silk. Final sample products are table supplies, home goods and bed goods applying the sewing method of tuck, quilting, top-stitching, patch work, applique and embroidery.

열 영상에서의 걸음걸이와 얼굴 특징을 이용한 개인 인식 (Person Recognition Using Gait and Face Features on Thermal Images)

  • Gait recognition has advantage of non-contact type recognition. But It has disadvantage of low recognition rate when the pedestrian silhouette is changed due to bag or coat. In this paper, we proposed new method using combination of gait energy image feature and thermal face image feature. First, we extracted a face image which has optimal focusing value using human body rate and Tenengrad algorithm. Second step, we extracted features from gait energy image and thermal face image using linear discriminant analysis. Third, calculate euclidean distance between train data and test data, and optimize weights using genetic algorithm. Finally, we compute classification using nearest neighbor classification algorithm. So the proposed method shows a better result than the conventional method.

  • 본 논문에서는 CAVE$^{TM}$-like 시스템에서 시각 커뮤니케이션 지원을 위한 고화질 스테레오 비디오 아바타 생성 기법을 제안한다. CAVE$^{TM}$-like 시스템에서는 사용자를 둘러싸고 있는 스크린으로 투사되는 빛의 잦은 변화 때문에 비디오 아바타 생성에 필수적인 사용자 추출이 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 가시광선 차단 필터를 부착한 흑백 카메라로 획득된 적외선 반사 영상을 이용함으로써 스크린 상 빛의 변화를 차단하여 강건하게 사용자를 추출할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 사람의 양안차 간격으로 배치한 두 대의 컬러 카메라를 사용하여 삼차원 기하 정보의 재구성 없이 고화질 비디오 아바타를 빠르게 생성하고 입체 디스플레이 하기 위한 양안용 사용자 영상을 획득하였다. 획득된 영상에서 배경을 제거하기 위하여 적외선 반사 영상으로 정의된 실루엣 마스크와의 피팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 생성된 비디오 아바타 스테레오 영상은 가상공간 내 평면 상에 텍스처 매핑하여 프레임 순차 스테레오 방식를 이용하여 입체 디스플레이할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안된 방식은 기존의 3D 비디오 아바타보다 고화질의 결과를 빠르게 생성할 수 있으며, 2D 기반 방식에서 제공해주지 못하던 입체감을 제공해준다.

하나의 비디오 입력을 위한 모습 기반법과 모델 사용법을 혼용한 사람 동작 추적법 (Human Motion Tracking by Combining View-based and Model-based Methods for Monocular Video Sequences)

  • 사람의 동작을 믿을 수 있게 따라가는 것은 감시용 비디오나 사람과 컴퓨터간의 사용자 인터페이스 개발에 있어서 필수적이다. 이 논문은 모습 기반법(appearance-based method)과 모델 사용법을 혼용하여 사람을 추적하는 새로운 방법에 관한 논문이다. 하나의 비디오 입력이 화소 단위 및 물체 단위로 처리된다. 화소 단위의 처리에 있어서 개별 화소색을 분류하는 훈련방법으로, 가우스 혼합 모델(Gaussian mixture model)을 사용하였다. 물체 단위의 처리에 있어서 사람 몸에 대한 삼차원 모델링을 하고, 모델 몸체를 투사면(projection plane)에 투사시켰다. 투사된 몸체와 배경을 제외한 영상과 계산 기하 방법을 사용하여, 화소보다 작은 단위로 겹쳐지는 면적을 계산하였다. 우리의 방법은 정방향 기구학 (forward kinematics)을 사용하므로 역방향 기구학(inverse kinematics)을 사용하는 방법과 달리 계산 결함(singularity)을 갖지 않는다. 이 논문에서는 사람의 동작을 추적하기 위한 문제를 비선형 방정식 문제로 바꾸었다. 비선형 방정식의 비용 함수는 전경(foreground)의 영상 실루엣(silhouette)과 투사된 삼차원 모델 몸체의 실루엣의 겹쳐지는 면적이다. 화소 단위의 영상을 화소를 하나의 면적으로 계산함으로써, 겹쳐지는 면적에 대한 실수 단위의 계산은 계산 기하를 사용하였다. 이 논문의 방법은 다양한 사람 동작을 인식하기 위하여 사용되었다. 비디오에 나타나는 사람 동작 추적은 매우 우수하다.
