Child sexual abuse (CSA), under the age of 13, has increased over the past ten years, but research on the perceptions of perpetrators and victims have mainly focused on sexual violence against adults. Differentiating the age of the perpetrator into child, adolescent, and adult, the present study examined differences in perceptions of perpetrators and victims of child sexual abuse. The study also investigated differences by the gender of respondents, and examined the effects of Sexual Violence Myths (SVM) and Authoritarian Personality on perceptions of child sexual abuse. A total of 210 people in their 20s to 60s evaluated the degree to perpetrator blaming, perpetrator punishment, victim responsibility, and pain of the victim, and responded to the SVM scale and Authoritarian Personality scale. The correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA, independent samples t-test, and mediation analysis were conducted. The difference in the perception of perpetrator punishment by the age of the perpetrator was significant, indicating that respondents thought that adolescent perpetrators should be more severely punished than child perpetrators. Male respondents compared to female respondents were more likely to attribute the responsibility of sexual assault to the victim, to accept sexual violence myths and to be authoritarian. Sexual Violence Myths mediated the effects of the gender of respondents on the perception of victim responsibility, and Authoritarian Personality moderated these mediation effects. Finally, the limitations and implications of the study were discussed.
For the purpuse of gathering basic information to develop the education program for parent to become educators of young child for sexual abuse(YCSA) self-protection, 298 mothers of 4- to 6-years old children responded to a questionnaire to measure their needs for YCSA self-protection education and knowledge of characteristics related to YCSA. Results related to the needs of mothers showed that 30.4% of them were educated for YCSA protection and 64.6% had provided YCSA self-protection education to their children. However, it was also found that even mothers who had frequently been educated on protection skills regarding YCSA encountered problems as a result of insufficient information and materials concerning YCSA protection education. The mothers in the study subsequently recommended that from age 4 years young children should be educated about YCSA by parents and teachers together. And most of them expected young children to learn some skills to cope with YCSA, with parent education programs for YCSA also recommended by the mothers. Mothers' characteristics such as knowledge about YCSA, myths and stereotypes toward YCSA showed meaningful correlations with mother's demographic variables, not with children's variables. The study concludes that developing the requested parent education program should be done in consideration of parent's needs and characteristics related to the YCSA self-protection.

The questionnaire s were analyzed and composed of a frequency analysis and a cross-tabulations by using the tool SPSSWIN. The res ult was that the crime for child was often occurred nearby school and any effective prevention system.
This paper is a review of findings from studies that have used vignettes to identify salient characteristics that have been found to influence individuals' perceptions of child sexual abuse. Vignette studies finding avoid to unreliable and biased self-reports. A review of the literature revealed that factors influencing the perception process are divided into two groups. One group of factors relates to the details of the abuse situation including characteristics of sexual act (intrusiveness of the sexual act and the frequency of acts), characteristics of victim (age of victim, the gender of victim and victim resistance), and characteristics of perpetrator (age of perpetrator, gender of perpetrator and the relationship of the perpetrator to the child). The other group of factors focused on in research reflects individuals background variables that affect personal interpretations of the abuse situation. These factors include professional affiliation of the respondent and various other. demographics (e.g., gender of respondents, age, education, marital status, parental status, number of children, the length of experience, etc.), along with respondents own child sexual victimization experiences. Based on theses findings vignette studies have allowed researchers to learn how individuals vary their perceptions of various situational aspects of child sexual abuse situations, and how background characteristics of the respondents as observers may influence these perceptions.
This study, driven by the question of 'what the experience of healing of female sexual abuse victims is like,' explores the process the victims undergo as they heal from the traumas. Using the methods suggested by Strauss and Corbin's Grounded theory, it analyzes nine interviews taken from victims who have received counseling. The study found that the central phenomena that take place in the process of their healing is 'mental pain due to the damage caused by sexual abuse,' the causal conditions are 'the recognition of the sexual abuse' and 'desperation,' and the contextual conditions are 'the reaction of the close ones of the victims,' 'the preconception about sexuality,' and 'the incarceration and punishment of the offenders.' The victims have been intervened in the healing process by 'being supported' and 're-interpreting the meaning of the damage caused by sexual abuse,' and are found to utilize the interactive strategy among 'facing their emotions,' 'learning new coping strategies,' and 'hoping for the future.' They are also found, as a result of the healing, to 'live unafraid as survivors' and 'have structured their lives in a new way.' This study is of significance in systematically elucidating the healing process and the related elements found through the voices of the survivors of sexual abuse in the context of the Korean society and culture. The limits of this study and suggestions about the studies that should follow this one are included as well.
This study was conducted to evaluate a forecast model designed to describe a vocational high school for runaway students. The study included 2000 adolescents from the KEEP(Korean Education and Employment Panel). A Data mining decision tree model revealed that: (1) Suicide ideation was a risk factor for running away among smokers. (2) High self-evaluation was a risk factor for running away among individuals that smoked and had no suicide ideation. (3) Drinking was predicted as a risk factor for no smokers, while family life dissatisfaction was predicted as a risk factor among non-smokers that drank. (4) Negative relationship with mother was predicted as a risk factor among non-drinking non-smoking.
This study compared the effectiveness of various prevention methods(1-time video viewing; repeated video viewing; participation-enriched video viewing) used in delivering awareness of sexual abuse and coping skills to preschool children. All of the experimental groups performed better than the control group. The participation-enriched viewing group displayed higher levels of coping skills than the control and the 1-time viewing groups. Repeated viewing and participation-enriched viewing approaches were most effective in long-term understanding. The repeated viewing group showed superiority in long-term coping skills. Direct participation, interaction, and reinforcement by means of repetition are important for optimal results in sexual abuse prevention education.

Objectives: This study measures nursing students' ability to recognize child abuse and identifies the factors related to varying levels of recognition. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data were collected from 370 third and fourth year nursing students using a self-reported questionnaire during November 15-30, 2011. The measuring tool for child abuse recognition used in the study was developed by Ozasa (2011) and is composed of 44 items including physical, mental, and sexual abuse, and neglect. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, two sample t-tests, and regression analysis were evaluated with the SPSS/PC ver20.0 program. Results: Nursing students were concerned about child abuse(85.4%), but knew little about related laws and regulations(14.3%), and they had almost no formal education or training regarding how to recognize child abuse. They only 1.6% reported child abuse even if they encountered such incidents; however, they correctly recognized even infrequent incidents of child abuse. Recognition of sexual abuse ranked highest, while recognition of neglect ranked lowest. Those with higher levels of concern over child abuse showed higher recognition scores. Regression analysis revealed that physical abuse, mental abuse, and neglect had different related factors, while sexual abuse had none. Conclusion: Education and training on the subject of child abuse is strongly recommended in nursing curriculums so that nurses will be able to appropriately respond to and report suspected child abuse.

Objectives : This study aimed to examine current educational experiences, knowledge, intention to report, and requests for child abuse education in medical interns. Methods : A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2006 and 2007. The study sample consisted of 193 medical interns who served their internships at the university hospital. They answered 11 self-administered questionnaires related to child abuse. Results : Although respondents indicated a strong will to assist in eradicating abuse of children, about 90% had no educational experiences and knowledge of child abuse. Ignorance was a major factor for low reported cases of abused children. The preferred nominated reporting agency for child abuse was the National Child Protection Agency in 47.9% of female respondents, while 48.3% of males nominated Police Stations as their preferred option. In relation to sexual abuse, Police Stations were the preferred reporting agency by 49.2% of males and 37.0% of females. Medical school curricula were chosen by the majority of interns as the most appropriate stage where child abuse education should be introduced. Conclusion : This study found that medical graduates had limited experience and knowledge related to child abuse. The medical school curricula for child abuse needs to be further developed, implemented, and evaluated when appropriate.
