인버어터 구동에 의한 교류(交流) 서어보 전동기(電動機)의 운전특성 개선에 관한 연구 (Improved Performance characteristics of an inverter-fed ac servo motor drives)

  • The ac servo system using an induction motor is so strong and inexpensive that it is most suitable for today's drive systems. For controlled ac motor drives, but slip frequency vector control system have been put to practical use, it is difficult to perform control of wide range, the same as de motor. A study is presented on an adaptive current control scheme for induction type ac servo motor drives using PWM inverter. An analysis of the control scheme in operations is given and the characteristics are studied by simulation. The implementation of the control scheme using a microprocessor-based system is considered.

Modeling and testing for hydraulic shock regarding a valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device for ships

  • A valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device (short: VSSD) for ships was chosen as a study object, and its mathematic model of hydraulic shock was established on the basis of flow properties and force balance of each component. The influence of system structure parameters, changing rate of motor speed and external load on hydraulic shock strength was simulated by the method of numerical simulation. Experiment was designed to test the hydraulic shock mathematic model of VSSD. Experiment results verified the correctness of the model, and the model provided a correct theoretical method for the calculation and control of hydraulic shock of valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device.

보조 동력 장치 연료 공급용 서보밸브의 유동 특성 해석 (Flow Characteristics of the Servo Valve in the Fuel Supply System of APU)

  • In this paper, the authors benchmark a servo valve model for the fuel supply system of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) in the KHP helicopter. This valve is directly driven with a torque motor, and the size of small gap controlled by a flapper can make change of flow rate under given pressure drop between inlet and outlet. CFD analyses using a commercial code, ANSYS-CFX 10 are performed for the series of three-dimensional models at various openness conditions. The computational results on simplified models show that CFD can play a fine roll in the design of flow path as well as in the estimation of flow force due to its precision and good repeatability. Consequently, the CFD analysis helps valve designers to understand its flow characteristics from the basis of physical fundamentals.

  • Recently, methods of verification for electro-hydraulic servo controllers are various and the required number of testing controllers is continuously increasing in some specific systems. In this study, a PCB-based electronic simulator of hydraulic actuators is designed and developed to simplify test set-up for controllers and to facilitate alteration for characteristics of the simulator. Several features to reduce required time and manpower for verifying controllers are described. Especially, the simulator is considerably efficient to examine some controllers for different hydraulic actuators in a test. Response characteristics of the simulator are compared with those of real actuators to demonstrate validity of this method. Results reveal utilizing the designed simulator for inspecting controllers is equally effective as using hydraulic actuators.

  • The systematic function of the PLC (Programmable - Logic Controller) has been enhanced immensely due to the various special modules that consist of the conventional I/O control contants plus special function, which enables the flexible application to highly advanced systems. Position control module is one of the various PLC special module. In this paper, we proposed new synchronized operating method and implemented 8 - axis servo control system. The validity of proposed method is verified througth experimental results and it will be possible to expand 32 - axis servo control system by RS - 485 communication spec.

  • A novel phase error predictor is proposed for servo system in home-use VCRs. The multirate system in VCRs is converted into a single period sampling system with faster sampling time by using the proposed novel phase error predictor. And the disturbances can be measured much faster. From the experimental results, we can see that the performance of the control system is improved greatly. The phase lock time of the proposed servo system is ten times faster than that of the conventional system.

  • A servo gun welding system having a AC servo motor and a PC control system is presented for the improvement of quality control in the spot welding. The spot welding process is composed of the press stage, the weld stage, and the hold stage. The changes of gun press forces according to three stages in the spot welding process are controlled and measured through the load cell in order to know the influence on the welding quality.   • The dynamic characteristics of a load-sensing hydraulic servo system are complex and highly unstable. Another property of the system is that the setting value of pump compensator is closely related to energy efficiency as well as control performance of the system. This necessitates the development of an effective control algorithm which guarantees good control performance, stability and energy efficiency. This paper considers a suboptimal PID control for the velocity control problem of the load-sensing hydraulic servo system. The results of simulations studies and experiments show that the proposed suboptimal controller can produce much better control performance than nonoptimal controllers and give effective energy efficiency.

Feedforward actuator controller development using the backward-difference method for real-time hybrid simulation

  • Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) has emerged as an important tool for testing large and complex structures with a focus on rate-dependent specimen behavior. Due to the real-time constraints, accurate dynamic control of servo-hydraulic actuators is required. These actuators are necessary to realize the desired displacements of the specimen, however they introduce unwanted dynamics into the RTHS loop. Model-based actuator control strategies are based on linearized models of the servo-hydraulic system, where the controller is taken as the model inverse to effectively cancel out the servo-hydraulic dynamics (i.e., model-based feedforward control). An accurate model of a servo-hydraulic system generally contains more poles than zeros, leading to an improper inverse (i.e., more zeros than poles). Rather than introduce additional poles to create a proper inverse controller, the higher order derivatives necessary for implementing the improper inverse can be calculated from available information. The backward-difference method is proposed as an alternative to discretize an improper continuous time model for use as a feedforward controller in RTHS. This method is flexible in that derivatives of any order can be explicitly calculated such that controllers can be developed for models of any order. Using model-based feedforward control with the backward-difference method, accurate actuator control and stable RTHS are demonstrated using a nine-story steel building model implemented with an MR damper.

자율무인잠수정의 수중 도킹을 위한 비쥬얼 서보 제어 알고리즘 (A Visual Servo Algorithm for Underwater Docking of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV))

  • Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are unmanned, underwater vessels that are used to investigate sea environments in the study of oceanography. Docking systems are required to increase the capability of the AUVs, to recharge the batteries, and to transmit data in real time for specific underwater works, such as repented jobs at sea bed. This paper presents a visual :em control system used to dock an AUV into an underwater station. A camera mounted at the now center of the AUV is used to guide the AUV into dock. To create the visual servo control system, this paper derives an optical flow model of a camera, where the projected motions of the image plane are described with the rotational and translational velocities of the AUV. This paper combines the optical flow equation of the camera with the AUVs equation of motion, and deriver a state equation for the visual servo AUV. Further, this paper proposes a discrete-time MIMO controller, minimizing a cost function. The control inputs of the AUV are automatically generated with the projected target position on the CCD plane of the camera and with the AUVs motion. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the modeling and the control law of the visual servo AUV simulations on docking the AUV to a target station are performed with the 6-dof nonlinear equations of REMUS AUV and a CCD camera.
