Effective service description and modeling methodologies are essential for dynamic service composition to provide autonomous services for users in ubiquitous computing environments. In our previous research, we proposed a 'u-Service' as an abstract and structured concept for operations of devices in ubiquitous environments. In addition, we established the mechanism to structure u-Services as an ontology and the description specification to represent attributes of u-Services. However, it did not provide enough methods or standards to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the u-Service ontology in the design time. Since existing quality models for software products or computing systems cannot consider characteristics of ubiquitous services, they are not suitable for ubiquitous service ontology. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a quality evaluation model to design and modeling a good ubiquitous service ontology, based on our u-Service ontology building process. We extract modeling goals and evaluation indicators according to characteristics of ubiquitous service ontology, and establish quality metrics to quantify each quality sub-characteristics. The experiment result of the proposed quality evaluation model for u-Service ontologies which are constructed for our previous works shows that we can analyze the design of ubiquitous service ontology from various angles, and indicate recommendations for improvement.

As the number of internet users grows rapidly, the services which users required becomes various. However, for fulfilling these various user requirements, the existing passive network should be standardized for a long time. To resolve the delay on providing services, active network as a new technology was suggested. Its router or switch with DARPA as center has the program running ability, so user oriented network can be composed. However, active network's architecture can resolve the user required service using mobile code on the network node, but it is more complex, easy-to-attack, various than the passive network. Many researchers have tried to resolve this problem. So, this paper studied the mobile code security service in active network environment to provide user's convenience and accommodation, and introduced ANASP system as an alternative.

Network virtualization technology is a crucial research issue of Future Internet which pursues a service-oriented architecture so-called NaaS (Network as a Service) or SDN (Software Defined Network). Network virtualization is expected to play an important role in Future Internet researches as a network testbed technology which enables innovative protocols to be experimented independently on a common testbed environment. We propose a control framework in order to provide user defined topology and bandwidth services with network virtualization and to separate and manage multiple-user traffics in a small and medium scale - single domain research network. The proposed framework (VIMS; Virtual network Integrated control and Management System) supports testbed expansions without any changes of heterogeneous virtual network support equipments through accommodation of each equipment's control plane. The framework shows a feasibility through applied to KOREN and we describe the differences and further study directions for improvement the framework comparing with GENI control framework.
In ubiquitous computing environment, OSGi has applied to many areas such as digital mobile phones, vehicles, telematics, embedded appliances, residential gateways, industrial computers, desktop PCs, and high-end servers including mainframes. Therefore, interoperability is required for remote OSGi services which are built on various devices. In this paper, we proposed a method which was able to interoperate remote OSGi services using RMI paradigm. RMI is a representative middleware technology in distributed computing environment. The suggested method is based on the standard OSGi technology. It is possible to provide remote OSGi service registration, finding, and binding methods which were suitable for the OSGi service-oriented architecture. We also provided reliability of the dynamic remote OSGi services by maintaining consistent properties of them, and we could provide location transparency of the remote OSGi services by generating proxy bundles and proxy services dynamically.
Web services are the current most promising technology for service oriented architecture(SOA) implementations. However, in spite of the large scale acceptance of web services, they have been relegated to internal integration projects, and the grand vision of virtual enterprises where partners can be integrated on demand is yet to be realized. The main reason is that the current standards of web services are not very suitable for the dynamic web service discovery and integration. In this paper, we present a novel SemanticBPEL solution that merges the benefit of WS-BPEL, with the advantage of OWL-S for building a semi-automatic web service composition system. In particular, this work proposes a multi-phase search method for solving dynamic discovery and integration problems of web services. The proposed method is compared with the existing keyword based retrieval method. These comparisons show that our approach outperforms the existing method.
In this study, we typified the project for revitalizing the rural area through text analysis using news data, and analyzed the main direction and characteristics of the project. In order to examine the factors emphasized among the issues related to the revitalization of rural areas, we used news data related to 'tourism' and 'livelihood', which are the main keyword of the project to promote rural areas. In the analysis, text mining techniques were used. Topic modeling was conducted on LDA techniques for major projects in 'tourism' and 'livelihood' keyword. Based on this, this study typified the projects that are carried out for the activation of rural areas by topic. As a result of the analysis, it was fount that the topics included in the project were distributed in 11 sub-types(Tourism Promotion, Regional Specialization, Local Festival, Development of Regional Scale, Urban and Rural Exchange, Agricultural Support, Community Forest Management, Improve the Settlement Environment, General Welfare Service, Low Class Support, Others). The characteristics of the rural revitalization projects were examined, and it was confirmed that domestic projects were carried out by tourism-oriented projects. To summarize, the government is making projects to revitalize rural areas through related ministries. Within the structure where the project is spreading to the region, a lot of projects are being carried out. It is understood that the tourism and welfare oriented projects are being carried out in the revitalization project of the domestic rural area. Therefore, in order to achieve the goal of rural revitalization, it is believed that it will be effective to carry out a balanced project to improve the settlement environment of the residents.
According to the expansion of the Internet use and the utilization of e-business, there are an increasing number of studies of intelligent-based systems for the preparation of ubiquitous environment. In addition, expert systems have been developed from Stand Alone types to web-based Client-Server types, which are now used in various Internet environments. In this paper, we investigated the environment of development for web-based expert systems, we classified and analyzed them according to type, and suggested general typical models of web-based expert systems and their architectures. We classified the web-based expert systems with two perspectives. First, we classified them into the Server Oriented model and Client Oriented model based on the Load Balancing aspect between client and server. Second, based on the degree of knowledge and inference-sharing, we classified them into the No Sharing model, Server Sharing model, Client Sharing model and Client-Server Sharing model. By combining them we derived eight types of web-based expert systems. We also analyzed the location problems of Knowledge Bases, Fact Bases, and Inference Engines on the Internet, and analyzed the pros & cons, the technologies, the considerations, and the service types for each model. With the framework proposed from this study, we can develop more efficient expert systems in future environments.

Our daily lives are changing at a rapid pace and the concept of smart city is spreading, as the information communication technologies apply to various fields. However, efforts to prepare for changes in society due to technological evolution are insufficient in the field of landscape architecture. The purposes of this study are to explore the concept of smart parks, to investigate how smart technology has been applied to parks, and to identify the users' perception and satisfaction on smart park services. To this end, we conducted literature review, focus group interviews with experts, and a questionnaire survey with 180 users of the IoT See pilot smart park in Daegu. Smart parks can, as a result, be defined as sustainable parks that improve users' experience in parks and solve social and environmental problems faced by utilizing various high technology. Smart technologies introduced at the park so far have been mostly focused on safety and environmental areas, including AI CCTV, smart street lamp, and fine dust warning devices. The results of survey showed that not many users were aware of the smart services the park provided due to the lack of public communication as well as the nature of maintenance-oriented smart services. The survey also found that AR services for the education of historic parks were the least utilized, while solar power benches and WiFi service were most preferred by the park users. In conclusion, smart technologies need to be integrated with diverse park contents more centered user needs, providing services to enhance safety and environmental management in order to develop user-oriented smart parks.

In this paper, we propose an efficient network virtualization model in cloud computing environments. Virtualization is a key technology for the implementation of service-oriented architecture. It is a standardized framework that can be reused or integrated with changing business priorities through a IT infrastructure. Network virtualization has emerged as an important technical issues of the future virtualization technology in Internet. The concept of network virtualization and related technologies stay in ambiguous status since network virtualization is in its early stage. Thus, we propose a network virtualization model for cloud environment by analyzing the existing network virtualization technologies.
This paper describes the designs and the implementations of two H/W IPSec Systems, look-aside and inline, on TOE (Transport Offloading Engine). These systems aim for guaranteeing the security of datagram networks while preserving the bandwidth of gigabit networks. The TOE offloads a host CPU from network burdens, so that it makes the gigabit wire speed possible, and then deeper level security architecture of the IPSec guarantees the security of gigabit service network dominated by datagram packets. The focus of this paper is to minimize the TOE's performance degradation caused by the computation-oriented IPSec. The look-aside IPSec system provides a significant improvement in the CPU offload of the IPSec cryptography loads. However, the inline system completely offloads the host CPU from whole IPSec loads, providing significant additional cost saving compared to the look-aside system. In this paper, the implementations of TOE cards including commercial IPSec processors are presented. As the result of performance evaluation with the protocol analyzer, we can get the fact that the inline IPSec system is 8 times faster than the S/W system and 2 times faster than the look-aside system.
