직렬형 하이브리드 자동차에서의 폐열 회수에 대한 연구 (Study on the Heat Recovery System in Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In recent, there are tremendous requirements to improve the fuel economy of vehicle. For satisfaction of requirements, Hybrid Electric Vehicle or other technologies are suggested and implemented. However, it should be noted that almost 35% energy loss is occurred in the shape of exhaust gas as ever. For increase the efficiency of vehicle, it is certain that the exhaust gas energy should be recover, and generate energy. In previous studies, the technologies such as turbo-compound, thermoelectric and rankine cycle are suggested to recover the exhaust heat energy in vehicle. But, they focus on the conventional vehicle or parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle has advantage that the engine and drive shaft are de-coupled. It means that the engine can be operated in high efficiency area regardless with vehicle states. Therefore, if rankine cycle is applied to series hybrid electric vehicle, operating condition of that becomes almost steady. So, in this study, theoretical analysis on the efficiency of rankine cycle applied to series hybrid electric city bus is carried and the energy recovered from exhaust gas during vehicle drive cycle is calculated.

Complete collapse test of reinforced concrete columns

  • In this paper, experimental investigation into the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) columns tested under large lateral displacement with four different types of loading arrangements is presented. Each loading arrangement has a different system for controlling the consistency of the loading condition. One of the loading arrangements used three units of link mechanism to control the parallelism of the top and bottom stub of column during testing, and the remaining employed eight hydraulic jacks for the same purpose. The loading systems condition used in this investigation were similar to the actual case in a moment-resisting frame where the tested column was displaced in a double curvature. Ten model column specimens, divided into four series were prepared. Two columns were tested monotonically until collapse, and unless failure took place at an earlier stage of loading, the remaining eight columns were tested under cyclic loading. Test results indicated that the proposed system to keep the top and bottom stubs parallel during testing performed well.

  • This paper presents Building Integrated Photovoltaic system of the balcony type which is influenced by conditions such as irradiation, module temperature, shade and array arrangement. When architecture component, trees and cloud shade connecting array in series, total PV array current is reduced. So, before PV system design, a planner have to simulate many situations. And then array should be composed suitable for parallel and series modules. By the results, it is very important to develop optimal design of array considering shade effect for the balcony PV system.

  • This paper presents a method for establishing an initial value of redundancy optimization problem to maximize system reliability of multiconstraint mixed parallel-series system. The constraints not be linear. This paper proposes a new initial value which is near to optimal solution by considering the relative median rate of the unreliability and amount of consumed resources for each subsystem. To show the efficiency of this model. numerical example and comparison with Narasimhalu is illustrated in chapter 4.

  • This paper presents the log likelihood function for integrated models for ALT such as exponential-general Eyring, Weibull-temperature and specific heat, lognormal-temperature and specific heat. Additionally this paper estimates the system reliability and mean time to failure(MTTF) for series, parallel, k of n, and standby system using ALT linkage parameter. Lastly this study designs three variable reliability acceptance sampling(RAS) plans such as type I, II censored test, sequential test by the use of integrated models for ALT.

터널 사전보강 영역의 효과적 수치해석을 위한 등가 물성치 결정 기법 (Equivalent Design Parameter Determination for Effective Numerical Modeling of Pre-reinforced Zones in Tunnel)

  • 대단면 터널에서 시공되는 사전보강공법에 의한 보강영역의 보강효과를 수치해석적으로 모델링하기 위한 다양한 방법이 제시되고 있지만 실무자들은 공학적인 방법보다는 경험적인 방법과 문헌을 참고하여 설계를 수행하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 상용 프로그램에서 직접적으로 적용할 수 있는 사전보강 영역의 물성치 결정에 있어서 거시적 접근법의 개념을 기반으로 미시적 접근법을 적용한 등가 물성치를 결정하는 기법을 제시하고 3차원 수치해석을 통한 실제모델 해석결과와 다른 여러 미시적 접근법들과의 비교 분석을 수행하여 타당한 보강영역 물성치 결정기법을 제시하였다. 해석 결과 구근과 강관의 병렬연결 강성이 원지반과 직렬로 연결되는 사전보강영역의 직병렬 강성 시스템과, 구근과 강관의 직렬 강성 시스템이 실해와 가장 근사한 변위를 예측하였으나 후자의 경우 그 모델링 과정이 복잡하므로 본 연구에서는 간편법으로써 직병렬 강성 시스템을 제안한다. 직병렬 강성 시스템은 천단변위에 대해 풍화암 지반에서는 약간 안전측으로, 내공변위와 지표면 변위에 대해서는 정밀모델의 결과와 거의 동일하게 거동하는 것으로 분석되었으며 풍화토와 풍화암 지반에서 동일한 변위 경향성을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서 제시된 사전보강영역의 직병렬 강성 시스템은 실제모델로 대표되는 보강지반의 거동 메카니즘을 효과적으로 나타내는 것으로 분석된다.

  • In this paper, a novel 3-DOF hybrid robot with enlarged workspace is presented for high speed applications. The 3-DOF hybrid robot is made up of one linear actuator and 2-DOF planar parallel robot in series. The actuation consists of one ball-screw to make one linear motion and two rotary ball-screws to transmit rotational motion to 2-DOF parallel robot. The workspace can be enlarged according to ball-screw stroke and the moving inertia can be reduced due to locating all the heavy actuators at the fixed base. The inverse kinematics and workspace analyses are presented. The robot prototype and PC-based control system are developed.

  • Presented in this paper is an algorithm to obtain the intersections of a polyhedral surface composed of triangle facets with a series of parallel planes for extracting machining information from the surface. The change of the topology of the intersection curves is caused by characteristic points of the surface when sectioning the surface with parallel planes. The characteristic points are internal maximum, internal minimum, internal saddle, boundary maximum, boundary minimum, boundary max-saddle, and boundary min-saddle points. The starting points of the intersects are found efficiently and robustly using the characteristic points. The characteristic points as well as the intersection contours can be used to evaluate the machining information for process planning, and to generate NC tool path in CAD/CAM system.

An Improved Topology for the Current Fed Parallel Resonant Half Bridge Circuits Used in Fluorescent Lamp Electronic Ballasts

  • An improvement in the current fed parallel resonant half bridge (CFPRHB) circuits used in fluorescent lamp electronic ballasts is provided in this paper. The CFPRHB belongs to the self-oscillating family which includes the current fed push-pull and series resonant inverters, most of which are used in instant-start applications. However, many failure modes are related to the bypass capacitor according to an analysis of failed samples. In this paper, the operating functions of the existing topology in the steady state are analyzed and the main root cause of failure modes has been found. Comparisons between the two topologies are conducted in terms of the voltage stress of the bypass capacitor as well as the thermal and performance of the ballasts to verify the advantages of the proposed topology. It is found that the improved topology is capable of enhancing the reliability and reducing the cost of products without having a negative influence on the system performance.
