힘과 온도 측정을 위한 생체모방형 촉각센서 감지부 설계 (Design of sensing .element of bio-mimetic tactile sensor for measurement force and temperature)

  • This paper describes a design of a tactile sensor, which can measure three components force and temperature due to thermal conductive. The bio-mimetic tactile sensor, alternative to human's finger, is comprised of four micro force sensors and four thermal sensors, and its size being 10mm$\times$10mm. Each micro force sensor has a square membrane, and its force range is 0.1N - 5N in the three-axis directions. On the other hand, the thermal sensor for temperature measurement has a heater and four temperature sensor elements. The thermal sensor is designed to keep the temperature. $36.5^{\circ}C$, constant, like human skin, and measure the temperature $0^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$. The MEMS technology is applied to fabricate the sensing element of the tactile sensor.

  • In this paper, we proposed real-time relative radiometric calibration processing method for SWIR(Short Wavelength Infra-Red) sensor using 'Hyper-Spectral Imager'. Until now domestic research for Hyper-Spectral Imager has been performing with foreign sensor device. So we have been studying hyper spectral sensor device to meet domestic requirement, especially military purpose. To improve detection & identify capability in 'Hyper-Spectral Imager', it is necessary to expend sensing wavelength from visual and NIR(Near Infra-Red) to SWIR. We aimed to design real-time processor for SWIR sensor which can control the sensor ROIC(Read-Out IC) and process calibrate the image. To build Hyper-Spectral sensor device, we will review the SWIR sensor and its signal processing board. And we will analyze relative radiometric calibration processing method and result. We will explain several SWIR sensors, our target sensor and its control method, steps for acquisition of reference images and processing result.

  • A new silicon micro flow sensor with multiple temperature sensing elements was proposed and fabricated in considering wide range flow velocity measuring device. Thermal mass flow sensor measures the asymmetry of temperature profile around the heater which is modulated by the fluid flow. A micro mass flow sensor was normally composed of a central heater and a pair of temperature sensing elements around it. A new 2-D wide range micro flow sensor structure with three pairs of temperature sensing elements and a central heater was proposed and numerically simulated by Finite Difference Formulation to confirm the feasibility of the wide flow range sensor structure. To confirm the simulation result, the new flow sensor was fabricated on silicon substrate and the basic flow sensing properties of the sensor were measured.

  • As technologies related to sensor network are currently emerging and the use of GeoSensor is increasing along with the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, spatial query processing systems to efficiently process spatial sensor data are being actively studied. However, existing spatial query processing systems do not support a spatial-temporal data type and a spatial-temporal operator for processing spatialtemporal sensor data. Therefore, they are inadequate for processing spatial-temporal sensor data like GeoSensor. Accordingly, this paper developed a spatial-temporal query processing system, for efficient spatial-temporal query processing of spatial-temporal sensor data in a sensor network. Lastly, this paper verified the utility of System through a scenario, and proved that this system's performance is better than existing systems through performance assessment of performance time and memory usage.

  • 최근 환경 감시용 센서장치, 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크, 지능형 로봇의 센서와 같이 다양한 분야에서 센서를 이용한 감지, 검출 시스템이 날로 증가하고 있다. 센서 데이터는 센서의 물리적 상태 변화나 화학적 반응을 통하여 측정하게 된다. 하지만 센서의 노후화나 다양한 측정 환경으로 인하여 데이터 오류가 발생할 문제점이 있다. 따라서 센서 데이터의 신뢰성 확보가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다양한 센서에 적용 가능한 신뢰성 있는 센서 신호 처리 플랫폼을 제안하고자 한다. 신뢰성 확보를 위하여 다수의 동일 센서를 복수의 어레이 구조로 배치하고 사용하였다. 여러 센서의 측정된 데이터의 시간적 상관관계와 공간적 상관관계를 이용하는 신호처리 알고리즘을 이용하여 센서 데이터를 보정함으로써 센서 데이터의 신뢰성을 향상 시켰다. 또한 다양한 환경에서 센서의 이상 유무 확인 및 데이터를 확인하기 위하여 플랫폼 구성요소 간 통신을 위한 전용 프로토콜을 개발하였다.

An Adaptive Transmission Power Control Algorithm for Wearable Healthcare Systems Based on Variations in the Body Conditions

  • In wearable healthcare systems, sensor devices can be deployed in places around the human body such as the stomach, back, arms, and legs. The sensors use tiny batteries, which have limited resources, and old sensor batteries must be replaced with new batteries. It is difficult to deploy sensor devices directly into the human body. Therefore, instead of replacing sensor batteries, increasing the lifetime of sensor devices is more efficient. A transmission power control (TPC) algorithm is a representative technique to increase the lifetime of sensor devices. Sensor devices using a TPC algorithm control their transmission power level (TPL) to reduce battery energy consumption. The TPC algorithm operates on a closed-loop mechanism that consists of two parts, such as sensor and sink devices. Most previous research considered only the sink part of devices in the closed-loop. If we consider both the sensor and sink parts of a closed-loop mechanism, sensor devices reduce energy consumption more than previous systems that only consider the sensor part. In this paper, we propose a new approach to consider both the sensor and sink as part of a closed-loop mechanism for efficient energy management of sensor devices. Our proposed approach judges the current channel condition based on the values of various body sensors. If the current channel is not optimal, sensor devices maintain their current TPL without communication to save the sensor's batteries. Otherwise, they find an optimal TPL. To compare performance with other TPC algorithms, we implemented a TPC algorithm and embedded it into sensor devices. Our experimental results show that our new algorithm is better than other TPC algorithms, such as linear, binary, hybrid, and ATPC.

센서 네트워크를 위한 XMDR-DAI 기반의 USN 메타데이터 관리 에이전트 (USN Metadata Managements Agent based on XMDR-DAI for Sensor Network)

  • 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN) 환경에서 센서 및 센서 노드, 그리고 센서 네트워크들은 서로 이기종으구성되며, 각 구성의 특성 또한 매우 다양하다. 그러므로 센서 및 센서 노드들 사이에 상호운용성을 위하여 단일의 메타데이터를 정의, 관리하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 이를 위해서 센서를 모델링 하기 위한 표준 언어로 SensorML(Sensor Model Language)이 있다. 본 논문에서는 센서 장치, 센서노드 그리고 센서 네트워크 정보를 응용 단에서 기술하기 위한 XMDR-DAI 기반의 USN 메타데이터를 정의한다. 그리고 제안된 XMDR-DAI 기반의 USN 메타데이터를 효과적으로 저장하고 검색하기 위한 방법은 에이전트 기술을 이용한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 센서 메타데이터는 SensorML 기반으로써 USN 환경에서 상호운용성을 유지할 수 있을 것이며, 메타데이터 관리 시스템은 USN 미들웨어나 응용에서 메타데이터 관리를 위해 직접 활용 될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 객체의 인식률을 높이고 객체 검출 품질이 보장되며, 환경에 강건한 3차원 공간 스캔용 ToF-Stereo 융합 센서 시스템을 제안한다. ToF-Stereo 센서 융합 시스템은 ToF 센서와 Stereo RGB 센서의 센싱 값을 융합하는 방식을 사용하며, 하나의 센서가 동작하지 않더라도 다른 하나의 센서를 이용하여 계속해서 객체를 검출해 나갈 수 있다. ToF 센서와 Stereo RGB 센서의 센싱 거리, 센싱 해상도, 빛 반사도 및 조도 등에 따른 품질이 달라지므로, 신뢰도 추정에 기반하여 센서의 기능을 조절할 수 있는 모듈을 두었다. ToF-Stereo 센서 융합 시스템은 ToF 센서와 Stereo RGB 센서의 센싱 값을 결합하고, 신뢰도를 추정한 후 신뢰도에 따라 센서의 기능을 조절하여 두 센싱 값을 융합하므로 3차원 공간 스캔의 품질을 향상할 수 있다.

PMFBG 센서를 이용한 횡방향 변형률 측정 (Measurement of Transverse Strain Using PMBG Sensor)

  • PMFBG sensor was fabricated using phase mask and Excimer laser. The reflected wavelength of PMFBG sensor had dual peaks due to intrinsic birefringence. To discover the polarization axes, peak sensitivity was measured under compression test. The signal characteristics of PMFBG sensor were also examined in embedding condition. The embedded PMFBG sensor in epoxy block was loaded for the transverse strain measurements. Experiments showed that the PMFBG sensor could successfully measure the transverse strain. This PMFBG sensor is useful for the structures that require measuring transverse stram.

  • In the case of using sensor in the industrial control systems, the location of sensor is not close to the system which utilizes the sensor data. Two main functions of intelligent sensor are data processing and communication. In this paper, we will show that the developed result of intelligent sensor, which process the sensor data inside of the sensor module, except for the communication function. For this, we refered to the Profibus and Fieldbus Foundation standard.
