  • Topology may described a pattern of existence of elements of a given set X. The family ${\tau}(X)$ of all topologies given on a set X form a complete lattice. We will give some topologies on this lattice ${\tau}(X)$ using a fixed topology on X and we will regard ${\tau}(X)$ a topological space. Our purpose of this study is to comparison new topologies on the family ${\tau}(X)$ of all topologies induced old one.

  • In this paper, rings in which essential maximal right ideals are GP-injective are studied. Whether the rings with this condition satisfy von Neumann regularity is the goal of this study. The obtained research results are twofold: First, it was shown that this regularity holds even when the reduced ring is replaced with π-IFP and NI-ring. Second, it was shown that this regularity also holds even when the maximal right ideal is changed to GW-ideal. This can be interpreted as an extension of the existing results.

  • $H_2O$ maser emission at 22 GHz in the circumstellar envelope is one of the good tracers of detailed physics and kinematics in the mass loss process of asymptotic giant branch stars. Long-term monitoring of an $H_2O$ maser spectrum with high time resolution enables us to clarify acceleration processes of the expanding shell in the stellar atmosphere. We monitored the $H_2O$ maser emission of the semi-regular variable R Crt with the Kagoshima 6-m telescope, and obtained a large data set of over 180 maser spectra over a period of 1.3 years with an observational span of a few days. Using an automatic peak detection method based on least-squares fitting, we exhaustively detected peaks as significant velocity components with the radial velocity on a $0.1kms^{-1}$ scale. This analysis result shows that the radial velocity of red-shifted and blue-shifted components exhibits a change between acceleration and deceleration on the time scale of a few hundred days. These velocity variations are likely to correlate with intensity variations, in particular during flaring state of $H_2O$ masers. It seems reasonable to consider that the velocity variation of the maser source is caused by shock propagation in the envelope due to stellar pulsation. However, it is difficult to explain the relationship between the velocity variation and the intensity variation only from shock propagation effects. We found that a time delay of the integrated maser intensity with respect to the optical light curve is about 150 days.

  • Moored floating platforms have great potential in ocean engineering applications because a mooring system is necessary to keep the platform in station, which is directly related to the operational efficiency and safety of the platform. This paper briefly introduces the technical and operational details of an optical sensor for measuring the tension of mooring lines of a moored platform in waves. In order to check the performance of optical sensors, an experiment with a moored floating platform in waves is carried out in the wave tank at Changwon National University. The experiment is performed in regular waves and irregular waves with a semi-submersible and triangle platform. The performance of the optical sensor is confirmed by comparing the results of the tension of the mooring lines by the optical sensor and tension gauges. The maximum tension of the mooring lines is estimated to investigate the mooring dynamics due to the effect of the wave direction and wavelength in the regular waves. The significant value of the tension of mooring lines in various wave directions is estimated in the case of irregular waves. The results show that the optical sensor is effective in measuring the tension of the mooring lines.

  • The eXtensible Markup Language(XML) is emerging as a standard format of data representation and exchange on the Internet. There have been researches about storing and retrieving XML documents using the relational database which has techniques in full growth about large data processing, recovery, concurrency control and so on. Since in previous systems same structure information and fundamental operation are used for processing of various kinds of XML queries, only some specific query can be efficiently processed not all types of query. In this paper, we propose a flexible query processing system. To process query efficiently, the proposed system analyzes regular path expression queries, and uses $\theta$-join operation using region numbering values to check ancestor-descendent relationship and equi-join operation using parent's region start value to check parent-child relationship. Thus, the proposed system processes efficiently XML regular path expressions. From the experimental results, we show that proposed XML query processing system is more efficient than previous systems.

  • We generalize the idea of (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy ordered semi-group and give the concept of (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup. We show that (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy left (right, two-sided) ideals, (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals, (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy interior ideals and (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy (1, 2)-ideals need not to be coincide in an ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup but on the other hand, we prove that all these (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy ideals coincide in a left regular class of an ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup. Further we investigate some useful conditions for an ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup to become a left regular ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup and characterize a left regular ordered $\mathcal{LA}$-semigroup in terms of (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy one-sided ideals. Finally we connect an ideal theory with an (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy ideal theory by using the notions of duo and (${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy duo.

  • To prove the effct of semi-rigid fixation which utilize wire and rigid fixation which utilizes miniplate toward cranio-facial growth and development of growing children for teenagers, 28 rabbits-6 weeks, about 1.5kg-were experimented. They were classified three groups the semi-rigid group was 12 rabbits which were fixed with 26 gauge stainless steel wire to cross a fronto-nasal suture, the rigid group was the other 12 rabbits which were fixed with miniplate and screw, the control group was 4 rabbits which were get rid of only periosteum. The sample of fronto-nasal of rabbits which were sacrified after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks of the operation were investigated and made a comparative study with the light microscops. 1. At the control group, the central part of bony suture was connected with colagen bundle, the osteoblastic layer was investigated at the bony ending, new bone which covered the inside and outside faces of the bone suture was formed between periosteum. 2. Two weeks later from the experiment, ran slightly irregularly the collagen bundle which connects both bony endings of the rigid group. 3. Four weeks later from the experiment, collagen bundle of bone surface were arranged parally a little and comparing to the semi-rigid group, newly formed woven bone of surface of the adjacent bone was made obviously a little. 4. Eight weeks later from the experiment, collagen bundle which is located between both bony ending become close. Both the semi-rigid group and the rigid group showed significant formation of new bone at the periosteum and the bone surface. 12 weeks later from the experiment, both the semi-rigid group and the rigid group showed the regular running in the collagen bundle and smooth, dense periosteum. Then they assumed a similar aspect of the control group. I think that it does not give the influence to the cranio-facial growth of children or teenager to utilize a rigid fixation for a short period. Because as the time goes on, the surface of the bone suture was recovered and adjacent bone surface of the miniplate fixation showed compensatory growth, although both the semi-rigid group which utilized wire and rigid group which utilized a miniplate brought about the change of the area of the bone suture at the early period.

  • Let K be a nonempty closed convex subset of a Banach space E. Suppose $\{T_{n}\}$ (n = 1,2,...) is a uniformly asymptotically regular sequence of nonexpansive mappings from K to K such that ${\cap}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ F$\(T_n){\neq}{\phi}$. For $x_0{\in}K$, define $x_{n+1}={\lambda}_{n+1}x_{n}+(1-{\lambda}_{n+1})T_{n+1}x_{n},n{\geq}0$. If ${\lambda}_n{\subset}[0,1]$ satisfies $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}{\lambda}_n=0$, we proved that $\{x_n\}$ weakly converges to some $z{\in}F\;as\;n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$ in the framework of reflexive Banach space E which satisfies the Opial's condition or has $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ differentiable norm or its dual $E^*$ has the Kadec-Klee property. We also obtain that $\{x_n\}$ strongly converges to some $z{\in}F$ in Banach space E if K is a compact subset of E or there exists one map $T{\in}\{T_{n};n=1,2,...\}$ satisfy some compact conditions such as T is semi compact or satisfy Condition A or $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}d(x_{n},F(T))=0$ and so on.

  • The purposes of this study are 1) to investigate the employment status of the elderly(i.e., whether the elderly is employed or not) in Ulsan, 2) to analyze the differences in household economic life between employed and unemployed old People, and 3) only for the employed old people, to compare the monthly earnings and job satisfaction by the work time of per day and by the regular employee or temporary employee. for this study, semi-structural questionnaires were distributed to 500 old people in Ulsan, in September, 2006. The results indicated that only 25% of the respondents were employed, and the employment status of the elderly was related to sex, age, education level, marital status, household composition, number of dwelling persons, and number of children. for household economic life, employed old people had higher household income and monthly allowances than unemployed old people, while they spent more on clothing, but less on food than unemployed old people. Regular old employees had higher monthly earnings and job satisfaction than temporary old employees. And the old employees working for more than 8 hours per day had higher monthly earnings than those working for less than 8 hours, but there was no significant difference in job satisfaction between the two groups.

  • Very Large Floating Structures (VLFS) are one among the solution to pursue an environmentally friendly and sustainable technology in birthing land from the sea. VLFS are extra-large in size and mostly extra-long in span. VLFS may be classified into two broad categories, namely the pontoon type and semi-submersible type. The pontoon-type VLFS is a flat box structure floating on the sea surface and suitable in regions with lower sea state. The semi-submersible VLFS has a deck raised above the sea level and supported by columns which are connected to submerged pontoons and are subjected to less wave forces. These structures are very flexible compared to other kinds of offshore structures, and its elastic deformations are more important than their rigid body motions. This paper presents hydroelastic analysis carried out on an innovative VLFS called truss pontoon Mobile Offshore Base (MOB) platform concept proposed by Srinivasan and Sundaravadivelu (2013). The truss pontoon MOB is modelled and hydroelastic analysis is carried out using HYDRAN-XR* for regular 0° waves heading angle. Results are presented for variation of added mass and damping coefficients, diffraction and wave excitation forces, RAOs for translational, rotation and deformational modes and vertical displacement at salient sections with respect to wave periods.
