In this paper, minimizing of a parabolic edge planar monopole antenna by scaling method is presented. With the aid of a matching step and discontinuous CPW, the antenna easily adjusts the impedance matching. We used an FR4 dielectric substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. The dimensions of the antenna are $26mm{\times}31mm{\times}1.6mm$. A return loss value of more than 10dB was found in the 2.37GHz to 10.52GHz (8.15GHz) range of the antenna fed by the discontinuous CPW. The radiation pattern is about the same as that of the dipole antenna at all frequencies. Configuration elements of the antenna except feed part were reduced into the same rate. So, the size of the antenna was decreased and a broadband property was maintained. Therefore, the self-complementary characteristic of the antenna was confirmed. While satisfying the UWB band, having the smallest size in the antenna miniaturized by scaling;when scale was 0.6. The dimensions of the antenna are $15.6mm{\times}18.6mm{\times}1.6mm$. The return loss was more than 10 dB of the measured result in the range of 3.07GHz to 12.59GHz (9.52GHz).
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes toward and practice of oral health management among adults in the Gumi area. Health behavior especially drinking and smoking have been proven to affect the tissues around the teeth and increasing in importance. Thus the study set out to examine oral management according to drinking and smoking to suggest a need for education about oral health and provide basic data for oral health education. Methods : Total 226 subjects, who consist of 141 male adults and 85 female adults, in Gumi were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire on October 24, 2009. Their answers to the items about general characteristics, health behavior, and oral health behavior were analyzed with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results : 1. As for the frequency of visiting a dental clinic(hospital) for the last year, the non-movement group recorded higher frequency than the movement group, and the drinking group also did than the non-drinking group(p<0.05). 2. As for the experience and frequency of scaling, the female subjects were higher in the experience and frequency of scaling than their male counterparts. The older they got, the more they tended to have scaling. The married respondents had more experiences of scaling than the singles, and the non-drinking group was high in the experience of scaling(p<0.05). 3. As for the number, time, and method of toothbrushing a day, more women answered they brushed teeth three times or more per day than men; those who were in their forties were the highest in terms of the roll method, and those who were in their twenties were the highest in terms of toothbrushing time. The married group and the non-smoking group answered they brushed teeth in the roll method three times or more per day in higher percentage. And the non-drinking group was high in the roll method, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). 4. As for use and kinds of auxiliary oral hygiene devices, the female respondents used them more than their male counterparts. The older they became, the more they used them. The married group, the non-smoking group, and the non-drinking group used such devices a lot. The smoking group used dental floss most, and the non-smoking group used more kinds of such devices than the smoking group, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion : Oral diseases can be prevented by adopting healthy and right oral management behavior. Using the findings of the study, more diverse programs about actual oral health education should be activated so that people can change their bad oral management and behavior and develop a habit of the right oral management attitude.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the oral health behavior of oral prophylaxis clients and some residents in a community to their simplified oral environment index. Methods : The subjects in this study were 520 people who had their teeth cleaned in the oral prophylaxis practice lab in the department of dental hygiene at J health college. A survey was conducted from March 23 to June 3, 2010, by way of the self-reported questionnaire. The data materials are analyzed by general characteristics frequency and ratio, the relationship of oral health behavior and sex, age, scaling experience, simplified oral hygiene index $x^{2}$ test analysis. Results : 1. Concerning links between gender and oral health behavior including daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest group of the respondents brushed their teeth three times a day(p<0.05). As to educational experiences on toothbrushing method and the use of oral hygiene supplies, the women had more educational experiences than the men(p<0.05). 2. Regarding connections between age and oral health behavior involving daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest number of the respondents brushed their teeth three times a day in every age group (p <0.001). As for educational experiences on toothbrushing method, those who were in their 50s and up(64.7%) learned about that, and they had more educational experiences with age(p<0.05). As for scaling experiences, the older respondents had their teeth scaled more often (p<0.001). 3. As to relationship between scaling experiences and oral health behavior, there were differences in toothbrushing frequency according to scaling experiences(p <0.05). Regarding educational experiences on toothbrushing method, those who had their teeth cleaned received more toothbrushing education(p<0.001). Concerning smoking, the nonsmokers had more experiences to get their teeth cleaned (p<0.001). 4. As for links between simplified oral environment index and oral health behavior including a time for toothbrushing, the respondents who did toothbrushing after every meal(80.4%) had good simplified oral environment indexes(p<0.05). 5. In regard to relationship between simplified oral environment index and oral health behavior, oral environment index had a positive correlation to the use of oral hygiene supplies( r=0.129**), toothbrushing time(r=0.116**) and educational experiences on toothbrushing method (r=0.099**). Smoking(r=-0.092**) had a negative correlation to that. Conclusion : The above-mentioned findings illustrate that oral health behavior is one of crucial factors to affect oral health status and oral environment care. Therefore oral prophylaxis practice lab visitors should receive education on the right toothbrushing method and the use of oral hygiene supplies to promote their oral health, and an incremental oral health care system that involves regular scaling should be introduced.

This paper proposes a new quickly convergent pattern search quasi-Newton algorithm that employs the multi-step version of the Symmetric Rank One (SRI). The new algorithm works on the factorizations of the inverse Hessian approximations to make available a sequence of convergent positive bases required by the pattern search process. The algorithm, in principle, resembles that developed in [1] with multi-step methods dominating the dervation and with numerical improvements incurred, as shown by the numerical results presented herein.
I develop a transfer matrix algorithm for computing the geometric quantities of a square lattice polymer with nearest-neighbor interactions. The radius of gyration, the end-to-end distance, and the monomer-to-end distance were computed as functions of the temperature. The computation time scales as ${\lesssim}1.8^N$ with a chain length N, in contrast to the explicit enumeration where the scaling is ${\sim}2.7^N$. Various techniques for reducing memory requirements are implemented.

In this article, we evaluated the structural merits and the validity of a partially insulated MOSFET (PiFET) through the fabrication of prototype transistors and an 80 nm 512M DDR DRAM with partially-insulated cell array transistors (PiCATs). The PiFETs showed the outstanding short channel effect immunity and off-current characteristics over the conventional MOSFET, resulting from self-induced halo region, self-limiting SID shallow junction, and reduced junction area due to PiOX layer formation. The DRAM with PiCATs also showed excellent data retention time. Thus, the PiFET can be a promising alternative for ultimate scaling of planar MOSFET.
The classical Geometric Brownian motion (GBM) model for the price of a risky asset, from which the huge financial derivatives industry has developed, stipulates that the log returns are iid Gaussian. however, typical log returns data show a distribution with much higher peaks and heavier tails than the Gaussian as well as evidence of strong and persistent dependence. In this paper we describe a simple replacement for GBM, a fractal activity time Geometric Brownian motion (FATGBM) model based on fractal activity time which readily explains these observed features in the data. Consequences of the model are explained, and examples are given to illustrate how the self-similar scaling properties of the activity time check out in practice.
In this paper, we present a new, easy-to-generate system that is capable of creating virtual 3D tree models and simulating a variety of growth processes of a tree from a single, real tree image. We not only construct various tree models with the same trunk through our proposed digital image matting method and skeleton-based abstraction of branches, but we also animate the visual growth of the constructed 3D tree model through usage of the branch age information combined with a scaling factor. To control the simulation of a tree growth process, we consider tree-growing attributes, such as branching orders, branch width, tree size, and branch self-bending effect, at the same time. Other invisible branches and leaves are automatically attached to the tree by employing parametric branch libraries under the conventional procedural assumption of structure having a local self-similarity. Simulations with a real image confirm that our system makes it possible to achieve realistic tree models and growth processes with ease.
In this talk, I will present a theoretical and numerical framework for self-regulation of the star formation rates (SFRs) in disk galaxies. The theory assumes (1) force balance between pressure support and the weight of the interstellar medum (ISM), (2) thermal balance between radiative cooling in the ISM and heating via FUV radiation from massive young stars, and (3) turbulent energy balance between dissipation in the ISM and driving by momentum injection of SNe. Numerical simulations show vigorous dynamics in the ISM at all times, but with proper temporal and spatial averages, all the expected balances hold. This leads to a scaling relation between mean SFRs and galactic gas and stellar properties, arising from the fundamental relationship between SFR surface density and the total midplane pressure.
There can be two methods in control systems: one is to use a linear controller, the other is to use a nonlinear controller. The PID controller and the fuzzy controller can be said to belong the linear and the nonlinear controller respectively. In this paper, a new hybrid controller which is consist of the linear PID controller of which the gain is tuned and the nonlinear self tuning fuzzy controller is proposed. In the PID controller, an algorithm which parameterizes the proportional, the intergral, and the derivative gain as a single parameter is used to improve the performance of the PID controller. In the self tuning fuzzy controller, an algorithm which changes the shape of the triangle membership function and changes the scaling factor which is multiplied to the error and the error change. The evaluation of the performance of the suggested algorithm is carried on by the simulation for the Rhino XH-2 robot manipulator with 5 links revolute joints.
