Due to the limitation of the bandwidth resource and capture resolution of depth cameras, low resolution depth maps should be up-sampled to high resolution so that they can correspond to their texture images. In this paper, a novel depth map up-sampling algorithm is proposed by exploiting the fractal internal self-referential feature. Fractal parameters which are extracted from a depth map, describe the internal self-referential feature of the depth map, do not introduce inherent scale and just retain the relational information of the depth map, i.e., fractal transforms provide a resolution-independent description for depth maps and could up-sample depth maps to an arbitrary high resolution. Then, an enhancement method is also proposed to further improve the performance of the up-sampled depth map. The experimental results demonstrate that better quality of synthesized views is achieved both on objective and subjective performance. Most important of all, arbitrary resolution depth maps can be obtained with the aid of the proposed scheme.
Benthic macro invertebrate communities were collected at six different sampling sites in the Musucheon stream in Korea from July 2006 to July 2007, and ecological exergy values were calculated based on five different functional feeding groups (collector-gatherer, collector-filterer, predator, scrapper, and shredder) of benthic macro invertebrates. Each sampling site was categorized to three stream types (perennial, intermittent and drought) based on the water flow condition. Exergy values were low at all study sites right after a heavy rain and relatively higher in the perennial stream type than in the intermittent or the drought stream type. Self-Organizing Map (SOM), unsupervised artificial neural network, was implemented to pattern spatial and temporal dynamics of ecological exergy of the study sites. SOM classified samples into four clusters. The classification reflected the effects of floods and droughts on benthic macroinvertebrate communities, and was mainly related with the stream types of the sampling sites. Exergy values of each functional feeding group also responded differently according to the different stream types. Finally, the results showed that exergy is an effective ecological indicator, and patterning changes of exergy using SOM is an effective way to evaluate target ecosystems.
Seawater sampling is the primary task for the study of the marine environmental parameters that require shipboard or laboratory experiments for their analyses, and is also required for the calibration of some instruments for in situ measurement. A new automatic bottle (AUTTLE) is developed for seawater sampling at any desired time and water depth by self-triggering. Both any type of single or assembled mooring for 15 days and manual actuation by using a remote messenger as existing instantaneous single point water samplers are possible. Its sampling capacity and the resolution of time setting are 2 liters and 1 second, respectively. The result of a field experiment with an optical backscattering sensor (OBS) and a total of 14 AUTTLES for the in situ calibration of the OBS shows that the AUTTLE must improve our understanding on the behavior of the sand/mud mixtures in the environments with high waves and strong tides. The AUTTLE will serve as a valuable instrument in the various fields of oceanography, especially where synchronized seawater sampling at several sites is required and/or the information in storm period is important.
In order to enhance the competitiveness of tourism destinations, it is important to manage tourist products considering the characteristics of tourist destinations and the characteristics of tourists. In this study, we divided Seoul's tourism products into four parts (shopping, food, culture, and natural landscape) to explore if there are some direct connections between tourism product involvement, self-congruity, and functional congruity. The other research question is if the degree of tourism product involvement reaches a certain intensity, will the place attachment be generated and the destination satisfaction be fulfilled. The survey was the focus on the international visitors in smart city, Seoul by using the random sampling and convenience sampling and collected 250 data. Finally, we found that destination personality significantly affects both self-congruity and functional congruity. If self-congruity and functional congruity are formed, tourism product involvement will be stimulated which will finally satisfy tourists and arouse their place attachment. The implications of these findings contribute to destination marketers to develop more effective destination management.
The major purpose of this study is to examine how the perfectionism of dance majors affect self-efficacy and performance satisfaction. The sampling of this study was done in 2009, by using purposive sampling method with the subjects who are currently the students of an arts high school and dance majors of a college in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do. Specifically, by dividing the district in Chungnam and Daejeon, one arts high school and one college were selected from each district, and 75 dance majors from 4 schools respectively, total 300 students were examined for the study. Among these 300 students, the number of students' questionnaires used in the final analysis is 274, excluding the questionnaires containing inadequate answers. The adequacy of the questionnaire was verified by factor analysis, and the reliability of the questionnaire by reliability analysis. In the matter of reliability, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ turned up to be over .602. In this study, factor analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis, and course analysis were done by using SPSS16.0. With the above research method and results, I could come to a conclusion as following. Above all, perfectionism affects the subordinate variable of self-efficacy, the self-control efficacy. That is, with the higher self-oriented perfectionism and the other-oriented perfectionism, self-efficacy increases more as well. Secondly, perfectionism affects performance satisfaction. In other words, the higher self-oriented perfectionism, the higher performance satisfaction. Thirdly, self-efficacy affects performance satisfaction. That is, higher self-control efficacy makes the performance satisfaction higher. Lastly, perfectionism affects self-efficacy and performance satisfaction either directly or indirectly. Now it is obvious that self-efficacy is the variable that intermediate performance satisfaction.
The purpose of this study is to identify differences in processes of change, decision making, and self-efficacy by exercise behavioral stages and determine variables significantly affecting the older people's participation in exercises. The subjects of this study included 299 people aged 65 or over who were residents of G and S districts in Busan Metropolitan City. They were selected through purposive quota sampling at colleges and centers for old people and homes in order that they could be evenly distributed over stages of pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance. Data were analyzed using descriptive, ANOVA, Logistic Regression. Variables that discriminate between participants and non-participants in exercise include self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy. Thus if variables that discriminate between participant and non-participation in exercise such as self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy are fully considered in designing nursing interventions for inducing old people to become exercise participants, it would provide guidelines for nursing intervention programs as appropriate for the people's exercise stages. This study was to identify the relationship among self-management, economic stability, self-esteem, self-achievement and predictor of the self-achievements in elders. Methods: A total of 294 subjects aged between 60 and 92 were selected through convenient sampling. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire from May to June, 2008. Collected data were analysed by the SPSS/WIN 15.0 program. Results: Self-management, economic stability, self-esteem, self-achievement were positively correlated. The most significant predictor of self-achievement in elders were self-management and self-esteem. Conclusion: These findings suggest that self-achievement is influenced by self-management and self-esteem and needed for aged well

Sampling gears for collecting fish are diverse, and the community of fish varies according to the selection and characteristics of the sampling gears. The present study compared the characteristics of fish communities in Yedang reservoir using four sampling gears (kick net, cast net, gill net, and fyke net). The kick net and cast net were inefficient in collecting the number of individuals. However, they increased the species diversity of fish inhabiting the waterfront. Although not many individuals were collected, the gill net mainly collected large fish. The largest number of individuals was collected in the fyke net, and the dominance was high due to the high species selectivity. Through Self-Organizing Map (SOM) analysis, large fish were collected in the gill net, whereas small fish were collected in the fyke net. The characteristics and efficiency of the fish differed depending on the sampling gears. It is expected that researchers will need to use it appropriately according to the characteristics of the sampling gears when investigating the fish community.
The purpose of this study is to closely examine the effect of exercise behavior change of casino securities on their Self-efficacy. This observation takes place in casino enterprises in the whole country. Within these areas, we set the selected employees as the targeted sampling unit, we extracted the specimen, using the stratified cluster random sampling with the quota sampling, putting a weigh on the specimen of focused areas. Among 420 persons sampling unit, we have excluded 47 copied which seem to be insincere, and actually used 373 copies in this study. Evaluation forms are used as a study method; each form consists of continuance 5 points Likert scales and nominal/proportional scaling and used after excluding a test through the analysis of validity and reliability. After encoding and inputting the framing completed data along with each purpose, it was computerized by computer process, making use of SPSS 15.0 version.
