  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of agriculture on the career adaptation and career decision by measuring the job value and the subjective norm of agriculture. Conclusions based on the study results can be suggested as follows. First, career decision self-efficacy and subjective norm were significant variables in career adaptability of agriculture major college students. Therefore, the belief that one can plan and practice career goals and the affirmation of career plans and decisions in the vicinity are important factors in career adaptability. Second, Self-Realization and social recognition were significant variables in career decision self-efficacy of college students majoring in agriculture. In other words, it can be judged that social recognition such as honor and honor of others in a career choice has a positive effect on the career decision self-efficacy which is self-esteem in career selection. Lastly, An important variable for the subjective norms of agricultural college students was social recognition. This can be said that the positive perception of the surrounding people is very important as the value of social recognition is more important.

The Impact of Psychological Climate and Self-Resilience on Employee Performance During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • The study aims to investigate the impact of psychological climate, self-resilience, Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) and job stress on employee performance during Covid-19 pandemic. This paper also attempts to find out the mediating role of OCB and job stress in this context. A confirmatory survey was conducted on 316 employees of several institutions in Indonesia who worked from home during Covid-19 for a minimum period of 2 months. The research revealed that 1) PC has significant and positive influence on OCB and performance; 2) Self resilience have positive and significant influence on performance; 3) PC and self-resilience have a negative influence on job stress; 4) there are insignificant relationship between self-resilience on OCB; OCB and job stress on performance; 5) PC and self-resilience have no indirect influence on performance through OCB and job stress. The findings of this study reveal that organizations expected to have strategic approach in order to handle Covid-19 pandemic in different work patterns that are required to carry out routine office tasks from home, including handling stress as a fast adaptation for both employees and organizations that have a routine task from home.

고령운전자의 자기-평가 안전운전행동, 운전이동성 및 주관적 안녕감 사이의 관계 (The Relationship Between Older Driver's Self-Report Safe Driving Behavior, Driving Mobility & Subjective Well-Being)

  • 본 연구에서는 고령운전자의 자기-평가 안전운전행동과 운전이동성(이동량, 안전운전능력, 상황적응능력 및 사회활동) 그리고 주관적 안녕감(삶의 만족, 긍정 정서 및 부정 정서) 사이의 상호관련성을 살펴보았다. 65세 이상의 남녀 고령운전자 142명을 대상으로 한국형 자기보고식 노인 안전운전행동 척도, 고령자 이동성 척도, 그리고 두 가지의 주관적 안녕감 척도(삶의 만족, 긍정 정서/부정 정서 척도)를 이용한 면대면 설문조사를 실시한 후 수집된 자료를 상관분석과 경로분석을 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기-평가 안전운전행동 점수가 높은 고령운전자는 주관적 안녕감도 높았다. 둘째, 자기-평가 안전운전행동 점수가 높은 고령운전자들은 운전이동성 전체 점수뿐만 아니라 물리적 이동량을 제외한 모든 운전이동성 하위요인에서의 점수도 높았다. 셋째, 물리적 이동량을 제외한 운전이동성의 하위요인 점수들, 그리고 운전이동성 전체점수가 높을수록 삶의 만족이나 정적 정서 점수는 높은 반면 부적 정서 점수는 낮았다. 넷째, 자기-평가 안전운전행동과 주관적 안녕감 사이의 관계에서 운전이동성의 전체점수와 이동성의 하위요인 중 물리적 이동량을 제외한 안전운전능력, 상황적응능력, 사회활동의 매개효과가 유의하였는데, 구체적으로 안전운전능력과 상황적응능력은 삶의 만족과 긍정 정서를 정적으로 완전매개한 반면, 안전운전능력과 사회활동은 부정 정서를 부적으로 완전매개하였다. 본 연구의 시사점과 추후 연구 방향에 대해 기술하였다.

미국 거주 한국인의 식생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인 및 식습관 변화 (Factors of Food Adaptation and Changes of Food Habit on Koreans Residing in America)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors of food adaptation and the changes of food habit on Koreans residing in America. The subject was 89 Koreans residing in Knoxville, TN. The survey was undertaken from October to December of 1995. Demographic characteristics, food behavior, composite adaptation score(CAS), composition of Korean and American foods in 1 day, and frequence and preference changes of foods was determined. The results were summarized as fellows : The mean CAS for all subjects was 17.6 with individual scores ranging from 9 to 23. The CAS were significantly different in residing age, American friends, English speaking ability, eat with Koreans, American food experience before, American food experience now, breakfast type in weekday, breakfast type in weekday, and self-food habits change at p<0.05. No significant differences in CAS could be attributed to sex, marital status, children, and job. Food consumption patterns for breakfast was Korean style 58%, American style 39.3%. For lunch both style was almost same, and for supper Korean style was 78.2%. The intake of food most frequent was rice, and then Kimchee. The preference of Korean foods was increased, though the frequence was decreased. The preference and frequence of American foods were increased respectively.

다문화가정 한국인남편의 적응역량 강화 과정에 관한 연구 - 근거이론방법을 적용하여 - (Study of empowerment Factors of husbands in multicultural families in Korea - based on Grounded theory -)

  • This study set out to examine the adaptation capabilities of husbands in multicultural families and further identify strengths to maintain a healthy multicultural family based on the grounded theory. For those objectives, the investigator had an ongoing interview with ten husbands that had a child in the setting of multicultural family and were judged to maintain a healthy family. Question analysis through the method of Strauss & Cobin and the abstraction and categorization process among similar concepts identified total 89 concepts, 24 subcategories, and 11 categories. In a paradigm model according to the axial coding results, the causal condition was "having an international marriage with the spouse"; the contextual conditions were "crisis in the development of multicultural family" and "general family conflicts"; the mediating condition was "positive self-rationalization"; and the central phenomena were "family-oriented value" and "cultural tolerance." The operation and interaction strategies for them were "forming communicative couple relationships," "cultivating cultural sensibility," and "utilizing unofficial external resources." The adaptation capabilities were "satisfaction with family life" and "pride in building a healthy multicultural family."

Successful Aging Theory (SAT)에 근거한 여성노인의 성공적 노화 예측요인 (Predictors of Successful Aging in Korean Older Women Based on Successful Aging Theory (SAT))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore predictors of successful aging in older Korean women based on a recent mid-range nursing theory, the Successful Aging Theory (SAT). Methods: This study utilized a descriptive correlational design. The convenience sample was composed of 174 older women living in the community. Successful aging was measured using the Successful Aging Inventory (SAI). Transcendence was measured using the Self-transcendence Scale (STS). Adaptation was measured using the Coping behavior scale. Stepwise multiple regression was used to identify significant predictors of successful aging. Results: Transcendence, adaptation, and religion were shown to be predictive of successful aging. This regression model explained 56% of the variance in successful aging. The factor with the highest influence was transcendence which explained 52% of the variance. Conclusion: Gerotranscendence-promoting interventions can be an important consideration in caring for older Korean women. Adaptation and spirituality should be included in a holistic aging care.

  • Purpose: This study was to compare degree of stress, stress coping, adaptation and job satisfaction between Type A and Type B of new graduate nurses'personality. Methods: Seventynine new graduate nurses employed 2003 in an university hospital located in Gyeonggi-do were participated. Data for self-reported questionnaire were collected base on 5 point of time, 1st week and 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th Month after their employment. Results: New Graduate Nurses' Stress were persistently increased. The statistically significance of positive correlations between stress and coping showed, but their correlations were getting reduced during 1 year. Type B was higher than Type A in stress and adaptation for 12 months. But, Type B of coping was higher up to 9th month, yet abruptly Type A was higher at 12th months. In Job Satisfaction, Type A was higher at 3rd and 6th months, but it was reversed from 9th months. Conclusion: Socialization education for new graduate nurses should be done in organization since their stress were continually increased and their job satisfaction was decreased after 9 months after employed.

남자 간호사의 실무 적응 경험 (The Male Nurses′ Experiences of Adaptation in Clinical Setting)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identified the male nurses' encounter in adapting themselves in the hospital settings dominated by the female nurses in number. Method: Data were collected through the in-depth interview of 16 male nurses and analysed through the grounded theory methodology. Result: The behaviors of have made tremendous for job-adaptation can be summarized as a series of struggles to consolidate their own ground. They have made tremendous efforts to hold their own ground in the nursing profession composed of a large numbers of female nurses, while they have experienced many difficulties and problems as minorities. They have struggled to adapt themselves professionally through efforts such as; challenging the social and professional barriers, identifying the job identity, empowering themselves through self-development and dedication, expanding their influence among colleagues. In spite of these efforts, they had the perception that nursing is not a lifelong occupation for them. Thus, they had tendency to find outlets of change to occupations. Conclusion: A specific strategy is needed to provide an environment that is helpful for males in integrating into and adapting to the nursing profession.

부모의 성격 및 자녀의 성격과 자녀의 심리적 적응 간의 관계 (The Relationship between Parent's and Offspring's Personality and Offspring's Psychological Adaptation)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between personality of parent and offspring, and offspring's psychological adaptation. Methods: We examined temperament and character of 65 parents and their offspring (measured using the Junior Temperament and Character Inventory and Temperament and Character Inventory) and offspring's internalizing (anxiety, depression) and externalizing (delinquency, hyperactivity) problems. Results: The internalizing problems of offspring were positively associated with harm avoidance (HA) of offspring and parent, and negatively associated with self-directedness (SD) of offspring and parent. The externalizing problems of offspring were positively associated with novelty seeking of offspring, and were predicted by SD of parent. The interaction between parent's HA and offspring's HA predicted higher levels of anxiety of offspring. Conclusion: The association between the offspring's personality and internalizing and externalizing problems can depend on the personality of the parent.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and verify the effectiveness of a group art therapy program to help children from multicultural families adapt to school life by using Kinetic School Drawing(KSD). The result of this study showed that the group art therapy program of the multicultural family's children may have a positive effect in aiding their school life adaptation. The results showed considerable and statistical outcome in the fore and after drawing inspection of the dynamic KSD. Also, the size of the self-image became bigger and their expressions has been increased. The qualitative analysis also showed a huge change in dynamistic personal relationships due to the relationship with their peers with the same aged and the tutor. This study emphasizes the importance of the group art therapy program to be applied before children are admitted to school because of growing recognition of concern about the maladjustment of rapidly growing multicultural family's children. It is also suggests that the group art therapy program of growing multicultural family's children should be viewed with an ecological point of view.
