  • This paper investigates the security of constant weight countermeasures, which aim to produce indistinguishable leakage from sensitive variables and intermediate variables, assuming a constant Hamming distance and/or Hamming weight leakages. To investigate the security of recent countermeasures, contrary to many related studies, we assume that the coefficients of the simulated leakage models follow a normal distribution so that we may construct a model with approximately realistic leakages. First, using our simulated leakage model, we demonstrate security holes in these previous countermeasures. Subsequently, in contrast to the hypotheses presented in previous studies, we confirm the resistance of these countermeasures to a standard correlation power analysis (CPA). However, these countermeasures can allow a bitwise CPA to leak a sensitive variable with only a few thousand traces.

  • Today, with the wide use of mobile devices, the amount of business transactions conducted through such devices is increasing drastically. However, there are several limitations in the area of authentication for mobile use, which requires strong authentication mechanisms to satisfy security and convenience requirements. The proposed model and application system provide a framework to ensure the security and reliability of the flow of biometric information for telebiometric applications using mobile devices. We also specify protocols for each model and implement a mobile telebiometric application to improve security vulnerabilities compared to storage in a microSD match on card (MOC) based on the proposed model. As a consequence of this implementation, we propose substantial guidelines for security countermeasures from both technical and managerial perspectives in order to establish a safe mobile environment for the use of telebiometric systems.

  • According to the development of information system, many information system and application soft-ware are develop. However, cyber attack and incident have more increased to the development of them. To defend from cyber attack and incident, many organizations has run information security systems, such as Intrusion Detection System, Firewall, VPN etc, and employed information Security person till now But they have many difficulty in operating these information security component because of the lack of organizational management and analysis of each role. In this paper, We propose the formal Cause-Effect Model related with the information security system and administrative mission per each security. In this model, we regard information system and information system operator as one information component. It is possible to compose the most suitable information component, such as information system, human resource etc., according to the analysis of Cause-Effect Model in this paper. These analysis and approaching methodology can make effective operation of each limited resource in organization and effective defense mechanism against many malicious cyber attack and incident.

  • As Korea's industrial competitiveness and technological prowess increase, collaboration and technical exchanges with contracting companies are increasing. In an environment where cooperation with the contracting company is unavoidable ordering companies are also striving to prevent leakage of technologies through various security systems, policy-making and security checks. However, although the contracting companies were assessed to have a high level of security management the leakage of technical datas are steadily increasing. Issues are being raised about the effectiveness of the security management assessment and the actual security management levels. Therefore, this study suggested a security management system model to improve security management efficiency in the general contract structure. To prove this, analyze the efficiency of 36 contractor companies for the technical datas security management system using the DEA model. The results of the analysis are reflected in the assessment results. Lastly, suggestions for improving the effectiveness of the technical datas security system are proposed.

  • Although organizations are providing information security policy, education and support to guide their employees in security policy compliance, accidents by non-compliance is still a never ending problem to organizations. This study investigates the factors that influence employees' information security policy compliance behavior using elements of Triandis model. We analyzed the relationships among Triandis model's factors using PLS(Partial Least Squares). The result of the hypothesis tests shows that organization can induce individual's information security policy compliance intention and behavior by information security policy and facilitating conditions that support it, and proves the importance of members' expected value, habit and affect about information security compliance. This study is significant in a way that it applies Triandis model in the field of information security, and presents direction for members' information security behavior, and will be able to provide measures to establish organization's information security policy and increase members' compliance behavior.

  • For the risk analysis and risk assessment techniques to be effectively applied to the field of information technology (IT) security, it is necessary that the required activities and specific techniques to be applied and their order of applications are to be determined through a proper risk management model. If the adopted risk management model does not match with the characteristics of host organization, an inefficient management of security would be resulted. In this paper, a risk management model which can be well adapted to Korean domestic IT environments is proposed for an efficient security management of IT. The structure and flow of the existing IT-related risk management models are compared and analysed, and their common and/or strong characteristics are extracted and incorporated in the proposed model in the light of typical threat types observed in Korean IT environments.

  • ESM(Enterprise Security Management) is representing domestic security management, and there is requirement to enhance it. This paper will evaluate quality of ESM products, understand its quality level, and derive method to improvement so as to develop security evaluation model and test methodology which can support quality enhancement. In addition, it presented the performance test cases and evaluation method to measure product's security quality, and to perform research on the judgement method for the results based on appropriate criteria. Developed quality evaluation model is expected perform important role in evaluating and enhancing the quality of intrusion prevention system.

  • Cyber security is an important issue in the field of nuclear engineering because nuclear facilities use digital equipment and digital systems that can lead to serious hazards in the event of an accident. Regulatory agencies worldwide have announced guidelines for cyber security related to nuclear issues, including U.S. NRC Regulatory Guide 5.71. It is important to evaluate cyber security risk in accordance with these regulatory guides. In this study, we propose a cyber security risk evaluation model for nuclear instrumentation and control systems using a Bayesian network and event trees. As it is difficult to perform penetration tests on the systems, the evaluation model can inform research on cyber threats to cyber security systems for nuclear facilities through the use of prior and posterior information and backpropagation calculations. Furthermore, we suggest a methodology for the application of analytical results from the Bayesian network model to an event tree model, which is a probabilistic safety assessment method. The proposed method will provide insight into safety and cyber security risks.

  • emerging. And it shows numerous possibilities and tremendous potentials in the virtual world. This metaverse is not limited to one type, but it is evolving and developing into a service in the form of a virtual convergence economy by breaking down boundaries. As a result, various security issues in metaverse are emerging. Metaverse performs all activities in the virtual space, so various problems such as privacy infringement, virtual asset theft, or fraud can occur. In this paper, a service security model is proposed to provide safe services on metaverse. To this end, we analyze security threats in the metaverse framework and propose a security service model to prevent threats. By evaluating the security of the proposed model, it was shown that safe services are effectively possible on the metaverse.

  • The limitations of previous research on improving security vulnerabilities in power generation control systems were analyzed, and as an alternative, a cyber security information sharing model is proposed. Understanding the operational characteristics of power generation control systems, we examined the concepts and policies of cyber security information sharing, analyzing practical implementation cases. We presented effective policies and technological approaches that can be applied to power generation control systems, and their efficacy was verified through a model evaluation to validate their impact.
