  • Recently, to use the evaluated firewall is recognized as a solution to achieve the security and reliability for government and organizarions in Korea. Results of firewall evaluation using ITSEC(Information Technology Security Evaluation Criteria) and CCPP(Common Criteria Protection Peofile)have been announced. Because there are problems to apply ITSECor CCPP for the firewall evaluation in korea environment, korea government and korea Information security Agency (KISA) decided to develop our own security dvaluation critrtia fir firewalls. As a result of the efforts, Korea firewall security evaluation criteria has been published on Feb. 1998. In this paper, we introduce Korea security evaluation criteria for firewalls. The ceiteria consists of functional and assurance requirements that are compatible with CC Evaluation Assurance Levels(EALs)

  • Security Policy Model is a structured representation using informal, semiformal or formal method of security policy to be enforced by TOE. It provides TOE to get an assurance to mitigate security flaws resulted from inconsistency between security functional requirements and functional specifications. Therefore, Security Policy Model has been required under an hish evaluation assurance level on an evaluation criteria such as ISO/IEC 15408(Common Criteria, CC). In this paper, we present an evaluation method for security policy model based on assurance requirements for security policy model in Common Criteria through an analysis of concepts, related researches and assurance requirements for security policy model.

  • To ensure PKI systems' reliability, the security for PKI systems evaluation is required. But, unfortunately, the systematic security evaluation and certification of PKI systems is insufficient. In Korea, Firewall and intrusion detection system's security evaluation and certification has been enforced, but research of PKI systems’ evaluation is insufficient. This paper provides a PKI system evaluation criteria. This paper specifies a 7 level of the functional and assurance security requirements for a PKI system. And this PKI system evaluation criteria provides a compatibility with CC(Common Criteria) and KISES(Korea Information Security Evaluation Systems).

  • Recent increase of commercial network Integration to World Wide Web(WWW) shifts an ordinary commerce to electronic environment. This draws more people to examine re-assurance of their secure transaction. This study investigates current status of security methodology for Electronic Payment System and extracts important axis of security level for electronic payment. Using these axis as security evaluation criteria, the research proposes a security matrix which consists of four different level of security granularity, hence allowing evaluation of a nation-wide credit card based payment system. Feasible usage of this matrix contributes to security analysis of the electronic system as whole, hence providing better secured electronic environment.

  • This paper analyzes the side channel attacks for smartcard devices, and proposes the smartcard suity evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks. To setup the smartcard security evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks, we analyze similar security evaluation criteria for cryptographic algorithms, cryptographic modules, and smartcard protection profiles based on the common criterion. Futhermore, we propose the smartcard security evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks. It can be useful to evaluate a cryptosystem related with information security technology and in addition, it can be applied to building smartcard protection profile.

  • IT developed countries since the late 1980s are used to develop IT security evaluation criteria to ensure safety and reliability of information protection products. Currently a variety of products used for the evaluation based on CC and it takes a long period of product evaluation is required to reduce the developers and users. In this paper refer to the published standard evaluation schedule for the EAL4 calculation model offers a trial period. In addition, based on this commitment by adjusting the number of evaluaters to evaluate the applicant in the evaluation period to minimize the position offers.

  • Cloud computing provided as a service type by sharing IT resources cannot be activated unless the issue of information security is solved. The enterprise attempts to maximize the efficiency of information and communication resources by introducing cloud computing services. In comparison to the United States and Japan, however, cloud computing service in korea has not been activated because of a lack of confidence in the security. This paper suggests core evaluation criteria and added evaluation criteria which is removed the redundancy of the security controls from existing ISMS for Korean cloud computing through a comparative analysis between domestic and foreign security controls of cloud certification scheme and guidelines and information security management system. A cloud service provider certified ISMS can minimize redundant and unnecessary certification assessment work by considering added evaluation criteria.

  • For the verification of the security level against a IT product development environment, we should analyze the vulnerability and the various threatening factors which exists in the IT product development environment. Also we need the evaluation criteria and tools for the evaluation and improvement of the level of information security. For that, we need evaluation indices and the standard it will be able to improve the evaluation methodology in the actual IT product development environment which will reach it will be able to apply must be researched. In this study, our aims are the development of verification tools for the security level of IT product development environment.

  • Common Criteria(CC) was announced in June, 1999 in order to solve a problem which be happened by applying a different evaluation criteria among nations. Currently, a official version is v2.2 and v3.0 is a draft version. Because an evaluation demand is increased in the inside and outside of the country, an evaluation market growth is expected. Also, It needs methodology and work automation and project management for evaluation. In this paper, we propose A CC based Security Evaluation Management System(CC-SEMS) that is managing evaluation resources(deliverables , evaluation criteria, evaluators) and is useful in evaluation environment efficiently. CC-SEMS is to have integrated project management, workflow management, process management and is composed of deliverables, Evaluation Activity Program(EAP), Management Object(MO), Evaluation Database(EDB), Evaluation Workflow Engine(EWE).
