Tampering involves illegally removing technologies from a protected system through reverse engineering or developing a system without proper authorization. As tampering of a weapon system is a threat to national security, anti-tampering measures are required. Precedent studies on anti-tampering have discussed the necessity, related trends, application cases, and recent cybersecurity-based or other protection methods. In a domestic situation, the Defense Technology Protection Act focuses on how to prevent technology leakage occurring in related organizations through personnel, facilities and information systems. Anti-tampering design needs to determine which technologies are protected while considering the effects of development cost and schedule. The objective of our study is to develop methods of how to select target technologies and determine counter-measures to protect these technologies. Specifically, an evaluation matrix was derived based on the risk analysis concept to select the protection of target technologies. Also, based on the concept of risk mitigation, the classification of anti-tampering techniques was performed according to its applicability and determination of application levels. Results of the case study revealed that the methods proposed can be systematically applied for anti-tampering in weapon system development.

Objectives : This study investigated the effects of social support and chronic medical conditions on depressive symptoms in elderly people living alone in a rural community. Methods : Sociodemographic information on 173 subjects aged 65 years or older who lived alone in a rural community and were recipients of National Basic Livelihood Security was collected and analyzed. All participants completed the Korean Form of the Geriatric Depression Scale and the Lubben Social Network Scale. Additionally, the current prevalence of chronic medical conditions that interfere with the activities of daily living was examined. Multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the associations of social support and chronic medical conditions with depressive symptoms. Results : Social support(odds ratio: OR, 0.96; 95% confidence interval: 95% CI, 0.92-0.99) and chronic medical conditions(OR, 1.59; 95% CI, 1.23-2.05) were significantly associated with depressive symptoms in all subjects. When analyzed by gender, social support served as a protective factor against depressive symptoms in elderly men only(OR, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.83-0.99), and chronic medical conditions increased the risk of depressive symptoms in elderly women only(OR, 1.74; 95% CI, 1.26-2.40). Furthermore, osteoarthritis and lumbar pain were risk factors for depressive symptoms in all subjects(OR, 2.24; 95% CI, 1.10-4.56 and OR, 2.10; 95% CI, 1.08-4.12) and in elderly women(OR, 4.07; 95% CI, 1.68-9.84 and OR, 3.34; 95% CI, 1.47-7.57), respectively. Conclusion : This study indicates that improving the social support and managing the chronic medical conditions of elderly people living alone are important for the prevention of depression in this population. Additionally, the present results suggest that it is necessary to establish different depression-prevention strategies for elderly men and women living alone.

In this paper, we analyzed that the user authentication scheme for TMIS(Telecare Medicine Information System) proposed by Al-Saggaf et al. In 2019, Al-Saggaf et al. proposed authentication scheme using biometric information, Al-Saggaf et al. claimed that their authentication scheme provides high security against various attacks along with very low computational cost. However in this paper after analyzing Al-Saggaf et al's authentication scheme, the Al-Saggaf et al's one are missing random number s from the DB to calculate the identity of the user from the server, and there is a design error in the authentication scheme due to the lack of delivery method. Al-Saggaf et al also claimed that their authentication scheme were safe against a variety of attacks, but were vulnerable to password guessing attack using login request messages and smart cards, session key exposure and insider attack. An attacker could also use a password to decrypt the stored user's biometric information by encrypting the DB with a password. Exposure of biometric information is a very serious breach of the user's privacy, which could allow an attacker to succeed in the user impersonation. Furthermore, Al-Saggaf et al's authentication schemes are vulnerable to identity guessing attack, which, unlike what they claimed, do not provide significant user anonymity in TMIS.
Controversy continues over the offensive nature of China's naval strategy to become a maritime power. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of China's naval strategy to become a maritime power by using the three elements of strategy and predict China's military actions in the future. For this purpose, research was conducted by considering the three elements of strategy and the distinct characteristics of naval strategy, and it was found that China's naval strategy was overall aggressive, but there was an imbalance in the pursuit of aggression between each strategic element. Offensive nature was prominent in terms of the methods, but there were limitations in the goals and means, such as the need to cooperate with neighboring countries to become a maritime power and the lack of military technology and operational continuity. The prospects for China's future military actions derived from the imbalance between these strategic elements are as follows. ① The risk of all-out military conflict with the US is low for now. ② China may use its naval power to force or cause limited military clashes against neighboring countries within the first island chain. ③ Accidental military conflicts with the US and neighboring countries may occur over naval confrontation over territorial disputes.
The contemporary practices of Big-Data based automated decision making algorithms are widely deployed not just because we expect algorithmic decision making might distribute social resources in a more efficient way but also because we hope algorithms might make fairer decisions than the ones humans make with their prejudice, bias, and arbitrary judgment. However, there are increasingly more claims that algorithmic decision making does not do justice to those who are affected by the outcome. These unfair examples bring about new important questions such as how decision making was translated into processes and which factors should be considered to constitute to fair decision making. This paper attempts to delve into a bunch of research which addressed three areas of algorithmic application: criminal justice, law enforcement, and national security. By doing so, it will address some questions about whether artificial intelligence algorithm discriminates certain groups of humans and what are the criteria of a fair decision making process. Prior to the review, factors in each stage of data mining that could, either deliberately or unintentionally, lead to discriminatory results will be discussed. This paper will conclude with implications of this theoretical and practical analysis for the contemporary Korean society.

An electronic attack (EA) system is an essential weapon system for performing electronic warfare missions that contain signal tracking and jamming against multiple threats using electromagnetic waves, such as air defense radars, wireless command and communication networks, and guided missiles. The combat effectiveness can be maximized, and the survivability of militarily protecting combat power can be enhanced through EA mission operations, such as disabling the functions of multiple threats. The EA system can be used as a radio frequency jamming system to respond to drone attacks on the core infrastructure, such as airports, power plants, and communication broadcasting systems, in the civilian field. This study examined the criteria for classification according to the electronic attack missions of foreign EA systems based on an aviation platform. The foreign R&D trends by those criteria were investigated. Moreover, by analyzing the R&D trends of domestic EA systems and future battlefields in the domestic security environments, this paper proposes technological development plans of EA systems suitable for the future battlefield environments compared to the foreign R&D trends.
This study analyzes how workers become impoverished and have their jobs less stabilized after they suffer from non-job-related sickness. Given that South Korea lacks sickness benefits, which most of OECD member states legislate and implement except US and Switzerland, this study examines its impact on laborers' job stability and povertization in Korea. The researchers have conducted in-depth interviews with nine former or present laborers who have the experiences and four experts on the issue in July-September, 2017 for the qualitative analysis. It is found that laborers, after becoming aware of their sickness, at first endure their pain without informing their employers not to lose their jobs. The attititude is observed especially among non-standard laborers, because sickness more often leads to job loss for them than for standard laborers. After workers have to leave their jobs due to their sickness in the end, they have no choice but to keep working in less stable jobs to compensate for income losses. They become gradually impoverished with their social capital like family bond declining. We observe laborers who are eligible for industrial accident insurance compensation could not benefit from the system because some employers refrain from the legal reporting duty. Due to this illegal practices, some industrial accident victims unduly lose their jobs due to "non-job-related sickness". Second, some employers report to the authority that their sick laborers have left their jobs 'voluntarily' even when they have quitted it without their volition, in which case the newly unemployed are not eligible for unemployment benefits. Large holes in Korea's safety nets for those suffering from multiple risks of sickness and unemployment.
Because of the global warming, the Arctic Ocean is expected to be ice-free by the year 2035. When the Arctic Ocean will be opened, a number of national interests will become more salient as experiencing a shortened sailing distance and decreasing navigation expense, possibility of natural resources transport by sea from Arctic Circle, and indirect-profit making by building a herb port in Asia. To secure the national interests and support the free activities of people in this region, R.O.K government is trying to make advanced policies. In order to carry out the naval tasks in the Arctic Ocean, using the operational characteristics(mobility, flexibility, sustainability, presence of capabilities, projection) is necessary. To this end, ROK Navy should analyze the operational environment (O.E.) by its capability(weakness and strength), opportunity, and threat. R.O.K. Navy should make an effort over the following issues to implement the tasks in the Arctic Ocean: first, Navy needs to map out her own plan (Roadmap) under the direction of government policies and makes crews participate in the education·training programs in home and abroad for future polar experts. Third, to develop the forces and materials for the tasks in cold, far operations area, Navy should use domestic well-experienced shipbuilding skills and techniques of the fourth industrial revolution. Next, improving the combined operations capabilities and military trust with other countries in the Arctic region to cover the large area with lack of forces' number and to resolve the ports of call issues. Lastly, preparation in advance to execute a variety of missions against military and non-traditional threats such as epidemics, HA/DR, SOLAS, in the future operation area is required.
In this study, a practical model for health information management education using the EMR education system at universities for nurturing health care information managers was studied. Currently, there is no practical training course for health care information management in the standards for evaluation and certification of health care information management education introduced to strengthen the job competency of health care information managers. Accordingly, the program was constructed so that the practice program suggested as an educational environment in the Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation and Certification Manual can be practiced in the EMR education system. In addition, a practical model that can be performed according to the on-site practice guidelines for health and medical information management for each program was studied. Using the health care information management education EMR system, master data management, patient registration, doctor prescription, medical cost calculation, health insurance claim management, form management, discharge registration, cancer registration, unrecorded management, health care data management, health care statistics, A practice model was studied so that practice on information protection/security management can be performed. It will be possible to play a role as a health care information management expert by raising the quality level of health care information management education through systematic and standardized health care information management practice courses at universities. Accordingly, it is necessary to cultivate health care information management experts who develop and manage medical services based on medical data analysis through practical training of health care information managers.
Background: The selection of an occupation is typically based on individuals' personalities and the characteristics of occupations, which significantly affect occupational consciousness. The present study aimed to enhance the occupational achievement level of and provide fundamental data for student counseling in order to develop competitive professional workers by understanding the occupational consciousness of freshmen and motivating them as dental hygienists with career development plans, as freshmen majoring in dental hygiene eventually play a significant role in the field of dentistry as dental hygienists. Methods: The surveys were distributed to 160 freshmen in the dental hygiene department and were subsequently collected. The data from 142 surveys were used for analysis, as 18 surveys were excluded due to insincere responses. The survey contents included questions related to major selection and satisfaction, including motives for selecting a dental hygiene major, prior knowledge on a dental hygiene major and a career as a dental hygienist, satisfaction level of the major, and reasons for dissatisfaction in cases if applicable, as well as questions related to occupational consciousness, including career prospects for dental hygienists, opinions on the occupation, and conditions of job selection. Results: High employment rate with good salary level ranked highest (43.7%) among motives to apply the dental hygiene major, followed by the desire to be a professional worker (21.1%) and recommendation by acquaintances. Of those who responded, 50.7% indicated a normal level of satisfaction with the major, and 69.9% responded that they had prior knowledge regarding the dental hygiene major and/or field of dental hygiene. These results may be due to youth unemployment and the occurrence of job preparation immediately after students enter university, which is a result of the difficulty in job seeking. In terms of career prospects, 48.6% of students responded with "growing a little bit," followed by "growing a lot" (28.9%), "no difference from now" (21.1%), and "other" (1.4%). Regarding opinions on the occupation, 65.5% responded that occupation was an tool with which to make and income or a living, 23.2% responded that occupation was for dreams and self-realization, and 11.3% responded that occupation was for success in life and maintaining social status. Regarding the conditions of job selection, the responses included that the workplace had good working conditions (39.4%), good interpersonal relationships (21.8%), and a higher salary (18.3%). This may reflect the change in work ethics among university students, according to the trend of the times. Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, we found that educational guidance to enhance the level of satisfaction with the major, and career guidance to understand and apply the clear vision and long-term job security are necessary.
