In this paper, the light screen sensing system is introduced and testified to detect small grains such as seeds or electronic chips of uneven sized. Two modules composed of transmitter-receiver sensor array and microprocessor-based sensor signal processing system are developed to realize the proposed system. Experimental results showed that the sensing signal was relatively clear and its counting performance was very stable.

Differential sensing methods are more effective in alleviating panel noise than single-line sensing, and thus have been increasingly used in the touch screen industry. However, they have a drawback: they tend to cancel out multiple touches and need touch position recovery algorithms. This paper introduces a novel algorithm of touch position recovery for differential sensing, which is a low-complexity but high-accuracy approach for determining multiple touch positions. We have implemented the proposed method in a touch screen controller system on a chip. In the simulation experiments using realistic touch screen models and a differential sensing circuit, the algorithm exhibited a high detection performance of a signal-to-noise ratio gain of up to 52.21 dB. Therefore, we can conclude that the proposed method is substantially more accurate than the previous method. Further, the proposed method incurs little or no overhead in terms of the detection speed and the chip size.

In this paper, we present a rotating auto-zeroing offset cancellation technique, which can improve the performance of touch screen sensing circuits. Our target touch screen detection method employs multiple continuous sine waves to achieve a high speed for large touch screens. While conventional auto-zeroing schemes cannot handle such continuous signals properly, the proposed scheme does not suffer from switching noise and provides effective offset cancellation for continuous signals. Experimental results show that the proposed technique improves the signal-to-noise ratio by 14 dB compared to a conventional offset cancellation scheme. For the realistic simulation results, we used Cadence SPECTRE with an accurate TSP model and noise source. We also applied an asymmetric device size (10% MOS size mismatch) to the OP Amp design in order to measure the effectiveness of offset cancellation. We implemented the proposed circuit as part of a touch screen controller system-on-chip by using a Magnachip/SK Hynix 0.18-µm complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process.

In this paper, we propose a novel tangible interface system whose system does not use the expensive hardware is introduced. This proposed tangible interface is used on the table top capacitive multi touch-screen. The tangible interface apparatus which is called smart puck has sanguine arduino compatible board. The board has a Cds photo-sensing sensor and the EPP8266 WiFi module. The Cds sensor decodes the photometric PWM signals from the system and sends corresponding information to the system via TCP/IP. The system has a server called MT-Server to communicate with the smart pucks. The tangible interface shows reliable operation with fast response that is compatible to the expensive traditional devices in the market.

A multi-screen environment provides a new opportunity for digital signage applications, where various irregularly shaped screens are employed as an effective means for advertisements and information. A formation method applicable to numerous irregularly shaped screens is proposed to provide a new perspective on digital signage applications. The crucial part of the proposed method comes from the geometric sensing of each screen and the formation of a virtual screen where geometrically aligned content extraction and encoding are employed for content transmission to each screen. In addition, a software-based synchronization method for the proposed system is proposed to address the frame-level synchronization between screens. The experimental results of the proposed method show an improved performance of the frame-level synchronization, where the inconsistency between frames is not identified.

A current subtraction technique with parallel operation system is proposed to remove excessive current in touch screen application. The proposed current subtraction remove the current which go into the input node of charge amplifier. The value of subtraction current is same with current when touch screen is not touched. As a result, charge amplifier output is only proportional to variation of mutual capacitor, which make dynamic rage is increased. Also, Transmitter (Tx) driving signal and subtraction driving signal are out of phase each other. Thus, noise generated in Tx is cancelled. The proposed IC is implemented in a mixed-mode 0.18-um CMOS process. Overall system is designed for touch screen panel (TSP) with 16 driving lines and 8 sensing lines. 5-V supply voltages are used in the proposed circuits. For multiple Tx driving signal, Walsh codes are used and signal frequency is 300 khz. By using proposed technique, dynamic rage is improved 36 dB.

The objective of this paper is to provide an automatic color image testing system capable of synthetically testing a color element like a color tone and a luminance for a color image displayed on the screen, using a CCD camera and a microprocess. The system consists of a CCD camera, a line conveyor, a camera driving part, a remocon, a remote sensing part, a display and a PC including a color vision board and a CPU board. By applying the system to a process, reliability for a testing result can be improved and the absolute criterion to judge a part can be made.

The overuse of pesticides in agricultural sectors exposes people to food contamination. Pesticides are toxic to humans and can have both acute and chronic health effects. To protect food consumers from the adverse effects of pesticides, a rapid monitoring system of the residues is in dire need. Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) on a screen-printed electrode (SPE) is a leading and promising electrochemical sensing approach for the detection of several residues including pesticides. Despite the huge development in analytical instrumentation developed for contaminant detection in recent years such as HPLC and GC/MS, these conventional techniques are time-consuming and labor-intensive. Additionally, the imprinted SPE detection system offers a simple portable setup where all electrodes are integrated into a single strip, and a more affordable approach compared to MIP attached to traditional rod electrodes. Recently, numerous reviews have been published on the production and sensing applications of MIPs however, the research field lacks reviews on the use of MIPs on electrochemical sensors utilizing the SPE technology. This paper presents a distinguished overview of the MIP technique used on bare and modified SPEs for the detection of pesticides from four recent publications which are malathion, chlorpyrifos, paraoxon and cyhexatin. Different molecular imprint routes were used to prepare these biomimetic sensors including solution polymerization, thermal polymerization, and electropolymerization. The unique characteristics of each MIP-modified SPE are discussed and the comparison among the findings of the papers is critically reviewed.
Linear array imaging sensors are widely used in remote sensing satellites. The final products of an imaging sensor can only be used when they are geometrically, radiometrically, and spectrally calibrated. Therefore, at the first stages of sensor design, a detailed calibration procedure must be carefully planned based on the accuracy requirements. In this paper, focusing on inherent optical distortion, a step-by-step procedure for laboratory geometric calibration of a typical push-broom satellite imaging sensor is simulated. The basis of this work is the simulation of a laboratory procedure in which a linear imager mounted on a rotary table captures images of a pin-hole pattern at different angles. By these images and their corresponding pinhole approximation, the correction function is extracted and applied to the raw images to give the corrected ones. The simulation results illustrate that using this approach, the nonlinear effects of distortion can be minimized and therefore the accuracy of the geometric position of this method on the image screen can be improved to better than the order of sub-pixel. On the other hand, the analyses can be used to proper laboratory facility selection based on the imaging sensor specifications and the accuracy.

The purpose of this paper is to implement a smart touch image output system based on ICT. The image output system here uses a pen-touch type screen coordinate recognition type to minimize the error because there is a difference in the resolution of the motion pattern between the image screen and the actual image using the image sensing reaction sensor. To do so, we built a smart image output system that can output image data by using ICT based technology and can be operated remotely without a PC, laptop, monitor, keyboard and mouse by using wireless method and smart touch function instead of the existing wired method. The result of this study is that the image can be output only if there is a wall, and the pen can be operated on the output image without the screen.
