Activation of Elementary School Library Festivals in Seoul (초등학교도서관 축제의 활성화 방안 - 서울지역을 중심으로 -)

  • This study surveyed and analyzed school library festival that is being carried out in elementary schools of Seoul region. In doing so, it carried out questionnaire and interview survey targeting people in charge of library and students who are participating in the school library festival. The findings can be summarized with such components as follows. Major characteristics of the programs of the school library festival, the impact of Decimal Classification on the festival, change of participants' interest in book, the satisfaction of library staff and students are included. Based on the findings, major suggestions were made on activation of the school library festival.

  • As the public reading campaign has been popular, the book festival, a sociocultural event in relation to the book and reading, becomes a growing public interest. The book festival which could be diversified by each community and its environment would be understood in the perspective of the performance of public library, the diffusion of public reading campaign and the sociocultural togetherness of the community. In that, this study focuses on the book festival of Seongbuk-Gu, Seoul, held in 2015. Specifically, this study looks into the theoretical underpinnings and the background of book festival, examines the case of the '2015 Seongbuk-Gu Book Festival' systematically, and analyzes the factors that influence the book festival, in order to enhance our understanding of the book festival in general.

Examining the Impact of Local Attachment, Prior Knowledge, and Involvement in International Music Festival on Destination Image, Attitude and Support (국제 음악축제의 지역 애착도, 사전지식, 관여도가 지역 이미지, 축제에 대한 태도 및 지지도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose - This study examined the relationship between local attachment, prior knowledge and involvement in the festival, and local image, attitudes toward and support for the festival among people who have visited the Incheon Pentaport Music Festival, the largest music festival in Korea. Design/methodology/approach - A total of 250 samples were used for the final analysis, and SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used to analyze the data. The structural equation model analysis was conducted to test the hypotheses of this study. Findings - As a result of the analysis, first, only local attachment was found to have a positive and significant effect on local image. On the other hand, prior knowledge or involvement in the Incheon Pentaport Music Festival was found to be unrelated to local image. Second, local attachment and involvement were found to have a significant effect on attitude, but prior knowledge was not significant. Last, this paper examined the influence of festival area image and attitude toward the festival on festival support, and found that both have a positive and significant effect on support. Research implications or Originality - This study expands the scope of research on music festivals and is expected to contribute to tourist attraction and marketing strategies for the revitalization of music festivals in the future.

  • The purpose of the study is to be interested in medical tourism after the COVID-19 endemic. In particular, it aims to present a revitalization plan through the analysis of the current status of tourism festivals, one of the forms of tourism for healing. In this life, festivals are becoming an important valuable activity, and more systematic structural relationships of festivals should be analyzed. As a result, it provided very important implications in that the factors influencing regional development by hosting festivals related to healing were empirically presented through verification affecting festival quality, festival trust, festival satisfaction, and word of mouth effects.

  • The concept of visitor satisfaction and service quality are notably two important concepts in marketing. Two concepts are important in addressing theoretical as well as practical issue for marketers and consumer researchers. The study aims to identify the factors influencing visitor satisfaction in local folk festival. Data were collected from 432 residents of festival visitors through structured survey questionnaires. Results showed that whereas program contents and staff were more like positively to affect visitor satisfaction, accommodation and amenity affected visitor satisfaction negatively. Therefore, in order to visitors' satisfaction, practitioners and policy makers need to develop program contents and staff ability.

  • This study is in order to promote agricultural products sold in the rural village festivals direct transaction marketplace and enabled by a comprehensive user evaluation of the rural village festivals direct transaction marketplaces in universal design perspective, provide a design plan for your care and comfort of a rural village festival Direct Deals Marketplace there is a purpose. Thus, redefining the principles of universal design suitable for direct transactions rural village festival marketplaces, and to do this by reclassifying the design elements of the farmstand-type in a framework was developed 30 questions to evaluate items for Universal Design Evaluation. And, the selection of three villages along the rural village festivals scale and conducted a survey of Universal Design Rating. As a result, the overall assessment was positive for B villages of rural village festival marketplaces direct transactions, there was a significant difference with the other village. In particular, there was a notable difference in the fairness, efficiency, promotional, safety and hygiene. And, there was a significant difference in design elements for directing atmosphere by selling space, product display, hygiene. This paper presents the design suggestions about a rural village festivals farmers' market aspects of universal design for improvement of the marketplace as following, 1) placement for differentiation the markerplace and around sites in the festival place, 2) to build the operating systems of sustainable management for arrangement and organization during the festival, 3) to install the device for maintaining agricultural products freshness 4) to separate the sale of local specialty products and general food products, and 5) to locate the suitable space considering the visitors tour route in the festival place for large-scale festival.

Evaluation and Analysis of Local Festival Satisfaction - based on the Rose Festival in the Seoul Grand Park (지역 축제 만족도 평가와 분석 - 서울대공원 장미원 축제를 기준으로)

  • In this paper, the factors that affect the festival satisfaction level were investigated by using the visitors of the 2016 Seoul Rose Festival as study subjects, and by understanding the factors that have high satisfaction levels, the satisfaction levels were evaluated and analyzed through data mining so as to allow an assessment of future festival satisfaction levels. Surveys were conducted on the visitors of the festival and a regression analysis was performed in order to test the goodness of fit of the collected data. Afterwards, data mining was used to analyze the assessment. As a result of the regression data, amenities were identified as affecting the festival satisfaction levels the most; and the data mining analysis results, as well, showed that the most important category affecting the festival satisfaction level was amenity, similar to the regression analysis.

  • This is a study on the ways of improving the current Kwangju Kimch Festival. The Festival has many resources for attracting visitors. 'nevertheless. it has been criticized for marketing tools. including lack of publicity, institutional inertia. etc. A new approach for improving Kwangju Kimch Festival is needed to satisfy the needs not only for residents but also for visitors. especially japan tourists. the best way of improving the current Kwangju Kimch Festival might be the development of the product(for exemple, effective linkage system with tourist attractions) and promotion(advertising. publicity).

Market Segmentation and Satisfaction according to the Motives of Food Festival Attendants - Focusing on the Case of Seoul Food Festival - (푸드 페스티발 참가자의 동기에 따른 시장세분화 및 만족의 차이 - 서울푸드페스티발을 중심으로 -)

  • The motives of festival attendance have been used as a valuable marketing tool for promotion and understanding segment characteristics. This study attempted to segment the food festival market based on delineated motives and find the difference of characteristics and satisfaction among the segments. The study also explored the influence of motivation factors on satisfaction. The results are as follows : (1) Derived factors of the motivation of food festival attendance were 'food', 'information', 'education', 'cultural events', and 'experience'. (2) A cluster analysis identified two segments for five motivation factors. Two segments named 'utilitarian motivation group' and 'hedonic motivation group' were found to be different according to age, occupation, income, company, information source. (3) Two groups show the difference on satisfaction about festival programs. Utilitarian motivation group was more satisfied with 'holiday food performance' and 'food performance', whereas hedonic motivation group presented more satisfaction with 'cocktail show'. (4) Three(cultural events, food and information) out of five motivation factors had significant influence on satisfaction.

Ecotourism Study on the Chunsuman Bay Birdwatching Festival (생태문화관광 축제연구 : 천수만 철새 축제 사례)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate visitors' environmental attitudes of educational tourism, environmental preservation, and regional economic benefits satisfaction through the Chunsuman Bay Birdwatching Festival. The results of this study were as follows: First, the degree of educational satisfaction was high and this festival provided environmental preservation mind for visitors and local residents as well. The festival participants had a positive attitude toward migratory birds. Especially, the residents who had negative perceptions toward migratory birds due to physical harms of agricultural crops was positively changed after visiting this festival. So there should be prepared for more strategic approaches for residents' visiting and participating this birdwatching festival. Second, while the number of tourists was increased, it did not make a practical contribution to residents' income Particularly, farmers' satisfaction was low. So there should be more strategic programs to improve residents' economic rewards for sustainable development.
