This paper focuses on issues in the convergence of library and information science and communication studies. Common research topics in both fields include scholarly communication, knowledge gaps, invisible colleges, diffusion of innovations, human interaction with communication technologies, information-seeking behavior, information theory, and the information society. To consider these two disciplines in this broader context, this paper compares these two discipline's paradigms, suggests four models of convergence, and traces bibliometric studies performed. This study may be of use to those studying scholarly communication or bibliometrics, to faculty constructing curricula in either of the disciplines, to communication and information science scholars seeking new areas of research, and to collection development librarians in drawing the boundaries of these disciplines.

To determine factors affecting scholarly web database service quality, this research is to investigate factors of web academic information service quality, and analyze how these factors influencing on web academic information service quality satisfactions. As a results, three dimensions were identified namely, information retrieval, ease of use and interaction. The scholarly web database service management has more critical problems than information service in these days. It indicates that the qualitative aspect is becoming more important than quantitative in web academic information service management.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest a pilot model of knowledge organizing system which reflects the knowledge structure of research papers, using a case analysis on the "Korean Research Memory" of the National Research Foundation of Korea. In this paper, knowledge structure of the research papers in humanities and social science is described and the function of the "Korean Research Memory" for scholarly sense-making is analysed. In order to suggest the pilot model of the knowledge organizing system, the study also analysed the relation between indexed keyword and knowledge structure of research papers in the Korean Research Memory. As a result, this paper suggests 24 axioms and 11 inference rules for an ontology based on semantic relation of the knowledge structure.

Recently, Global Shale gas development has expanded, increasing shale gas production has transformed the energy market.As a result of the reduction of energy facilities, in order to overcome the management deterioration of domestic casting valve industry and enter the enlarged shale gas plant, tried to confirm the SWOT factor through the second questionnaire based on the questionnaire survey of related industry experts and previous studies. As a strength-strategy, presented three factors besides collaboration with domestic companies, suggested four factors including product development specialized in shale gas plant as a weakness complement. This study investigates research trends on the Convergence of Chinese and Western Medicine (中西醫匯通, CCWM), by first defining the concepts and the scope of this emerging field, identifying different types of convergence, and suggesting methods to evaluate the process. The author investigates the relationship of CCWM to the Self-Strengthening Movement and the doctrine of Zhongtixiyong (中體西用). Lessons that Korean Medicine (KM) can learn from this approachto help establish relationship between Korean and Western Medicine, are investigated. Proponents of CCWM suggest different types of convergence such as Zhongzhongcanxi (衷中參西), Zhongxizhezhong (中西折衷), and ZhongyiKexuehua (中醫科學化), to accommodate the change in the power dynamics between Chinese and Western medicines. The rigid dual medical system in Korea significantly hinders the potential for convergence. The current system is based on the relativistic model in which the scope of practice for the KM doctor and the Western Medicine doctor are mutually exclusive. Philosophically, the convergence of East-West medicine can be supported by pluralism and monism, while relativism sees it as impossible. A conservative pluralistic model might consider Bogu (補救) of Eastern Medicine, while a more progressive pluralistic model might build a New Medicine which combines the knowledge and techniques of Eastern and Western medicines. An example of monistic model is CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine), which aims to scientifically verify the efficacy and safety of the Eastern therapeutic practices and integrate them into Western medicine. This article proposes that as communication and fusion between medical disciplines are essential virtues of contemporary scholarly development, a change that enables the convergence of East-West medicine is needed.

Although the business model(BM) patents act as a creative bridge between technology and the marketplace, limited scholarly attention has been paid to the content analysis of BM patents. This study aims to contextualize converging BM patents by employing topic modeling technique and clustering highly marketable topics, which are expressed through a topic-market impact matrix. We relied on BM patent data filed between 2010 and 2022 to derive empirical insights into the commercial potential of emerging business models. Subsequently, nine topics were identified, including but not limited to "Data Analytics and Predictive Modeling" and "Mobile-Based Digital Services and Advertising." The 2x2 matrix allows to position topics based on the variables of topic growth rate and market impact, which is useful for prioritizing areas that require attention or are promising. This study differentiates itself by going beyond simple topic classification based on topic modeling, reorganizing the findings into a matrix format. T he results of this study are expected to serve as a valuable reference for companies seeking to innovate their business models and enhance their competitive positioning.

Under the knowledge-based economy in 21C, the convergence and complexity in science and technology are being more active. Interoperability between heterogeneous domains is a very important point considered in the field of scholarly information service as well information standardization. Thus we suggest the systematic solution method to flexibly extend classification scheme in order for content management and service organizations. Especially, This paper shows that automatic method for interoperability between heterogeneous scholarly classification code structures will be effective in enhancing the information service system.

Business intelligence (BI) is a process for turning data into insights that inform an organization's strategic and tactical decisions. BI aims to give decision-makers the information they need to make better decisions Patient safety analysis, illness surveillance, and fraud identification are just a few healthcare decision-making processes that can be supported by data mining. Thus, the purpose of the current research is to outline the need if BI as an essential factor in the healthcare sector by reviewing various scholarly materials and the findings. The present author conducted one of the most famous qualitative literature approach which has been called as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. The selecting criteria for eligible prior studies were estimated by whether studies are suitable for the current research, identifying they are peer-reviewed and issued by notable publishers between 2017 and 2022. According to the result based on the PRISMA analysis, BI plays a vital role in the healthcare sector and there are four business intelligence factors (Data, Analytic, Reporting, and Visualization) that will ensure that the healthcare sector provides the right healthcare services to the customers to be addressed in this section include; data, analytics, reporting, and visualization.

Nowadays, people share and discuss scientific papers on social media such as the Web 2.0, big data, online forums, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and scholar community, etc. In addition to a variety of metrics such as numbers of citation, download, recommendation, etc., paper review text is also one of the effective resources for the study of scientific impact. The social media tools improve the research process: recording a series online scholarly behaviors. This paper aims to research the huge amount of paper reviews which have generated in the social media platforms to explore the implicit information about research papers. We implemented and shown the result of text mining on review texts using R language. And we found that Zika virus was the research hotspot and association research methods were widely used in 2016. We also mined the news review about one paper and derived the public opinion.

Andrew Niccols's movie Gattaca (1997) inspired the formulation of the "Gattaca Argument" concerning the negative outcome of biotechnology, which has since been critiqued especially in the context of transhumanism and posthumanism. According this argument the development of genetic enhancement will produce a genetic discrimination and lead us to serious form of inequality. However, in particular transhumanists deny that here are reasons to worry and advocating instead the transformation of human condition in terms of genetic enhancement. Moreover, they question that genetic enhancement will necessarily lead to social inequality. In what follows, we will reexamine the Gattaca Argument and its critiques based on the movie in order to reassess the role the movie plays in the subsequent scholarly discussion. We will argue that existing critiques fall short of capturing the problem posed in the movie - the problem of the inhumane. Based on a hermeneutic approach to the movie we will both reconstruct the arguments and evaluate the transhuman counterarguments in terms of modern history of philosophical ideas.
