This study examines the factors that influence the subjective quality of life for Korean, Chinese-Korean, and Chinese women who are both married and employed, and it offers suggestions based on this examination for how to improve these women's quality of life. In particular, we employ both empirical and comparative research to explore the causal relationship in these three groups of women between variables such as cultural orientations, life satisfactions and the perceived quality of life. For these objectives, 263 Korean women, 265 Chinese-Korean women and 280 Chinese women were surveyed. The research can be summarized as follows: First, when we consider subjective quality of life as the dependent variable and factors such as self-esteem, cultural inclination and life satisfactions as independent variables, we find that most of variables record relatively higher than middle score. Comparisons among the three groups find that every variable shows meaningful differences among the groups except for the non-economic reasons for employment. Second, in examining the relative influence of the different variables on the subjective quality of life, we observe that both job satisfaction and family-life satisfaction have a significant influence on the quality of life for women in all groups. For Korean and Chinese women, job satisfaction has a greater influence on the quality of life than family-life satisfaction.
The purpose of this study was to examine the differences between spouses and the relationship of irrational belief and marital satisfaction of newly married couples. The data were collected from 121 pairs of newly married couples by using self-administered questionnaire method. Results of paired t-tests showed that the degrees of irrational belief of wives were higher than those of their husbands, and that wives'marital satisfaction were lower than their husbands'. Correlational analyses indicated that irrational belief of both husbands and wives were negatively correlated with marital satisfaction of them, respectively. It was also found that marital satisfaction were significantly different across the differences in irrational belief between spouses. These results were discussed in terms of implications for the family life education for newly married couples and/or premarital couples.

The purpose of this study is to propose measures for social work practice to enhance the happiness of middle-aged married men and women by identifying the effects of family stress and social support resources (formal and informal support resources) on marital satisfaction among mid-life married couples. Subjects were selected through purposive sampling among married men and women aged between 40 and 59 and living in Seoul City and Gyeonggi province. The study results are follows. First, the average score of family stress was 3.06 points (SD=.56), slightly higher than the median value of 3 points. Of all subscales of family stress, the subjects experienced the most stress from family relationships, followed by financial problems, health and loss of families, and work-family compatibility. In regard to social support resources, the mean value of all social support resources categories was greater than the median. Among the subscales, informal support (family support and support from other people) was found to be higher than formal support. The level of marital satisfaction was higher than the median, and the score was 3.21 points (SD=.78). Second, in order to explore differences in marital satisfaction according to family stress and social support, differences in marital satisfaction were analyzed by grouping subjects who scored high, middle, and low levels of marital satisfaction. According to the results, marital satisfaction was statistically significantly higher in the group that experienced less family stress (F=6.25, p<.01). With respect to social support, marital satisfaction was statistically significantly higher in the group that received high social support (F=29.68, p<.001). Third, according to the analysis of factors affecting marital satisfaction in middle-aged married men and women, subjective economic status, family relationship stress, economic stress, and family support showed statistical significance. The higher the subjective economic status and the lower the family relationship stress and economic stress levels, the higher the marital satisfaction among middle-aged married men and women. In addition, the greater the family support, the higher the marital satisfaction. The results of this study underscore the need to improve family relationships in middle-aged married couples and to distribute family life education programs that can strengthen family support resources. For example, family relationship enhancement programs are currently performed, including "Family School for Middle-Aged Baby Boomers" and others as part of the Healthy Family Support Work regarding the promotion of marital satisfaction of middle-aged couples. In addition, continuing effort is warranted to include content on strengthening family support resources, maximizing the effectiveness of programs, and promoting service accessibility.

This study examines health and life satisfaction of the married female production workers(Mfpw). The data of 370 Mfpw in manufacturing sector in Taegu are collected by using questionares in August, 1995. Health scale measured by Todai Health Index is composed physical health and mental health. There are three satifsfaction areas-individual life satisfaction, family life satisfaction, and job satisfaction-in the overall life satisfaction scale. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) Mfpw’s total health conditions are poor. Especially physical health is worse than mental health. Physical health is influenced by age and purpose of attaining job, while mental health is influenced by purpose of attaining job. Mfpw who get the job for family financial needs have poor physical and mental health. 2) The overall life satisfaction level of Mfpw is lower than middle point : their family life satisfaction level is the heigest and their individual life satisfaction level is the lowest. Family income, purpose of attaining job and work place environment have effect on the level of overall life satisfaction. Mfpw who have the higher family income, get the job by non-economic motivations and work in good work place environment show the higher life satisfaction level.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of personal, family, and job characteristics on married male postal delivery workers' overall life satisfaction. For this purpose, we surveyed 263 married male postal delivery workers between October 1st to 21st, 2008, and analyzed the data with multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, postal workers earned a low level of income, and their quality of health was not good relative to their age. They had severe work-family conflict, but could support and communicate with colleagues well. Second, even though they felt little opportunities and difficulties in lives, they moderately satisfied with everyday lives. Third, 43% of their satisfaction was explained by personal, family, and job related variables. Levels of workfamily conflict (${\beta}=-.31^{***}$), work support with colleagues (${\beta}=.25^{***}$), family sharing time (${\beta}=.14^*$), and health (${\beta}=.12^*$) were especially important variables affecting their satisfaction.

This study examined the effects of self-differentiation on family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction, and investigated the mediating effects of conflict-managing behavior. The participants in the present study were 196 married employees. LISREL was employed to test this hypothetical structural model. The results of this empirical study demonstrated that self-differentiation had positive effects on both family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction, which was mediated by the conflict-managing behavior but did not have a direct effect on either family-life satisfaction or job satisfaction. This study verified that conflict-managing behavior had mediating effects on the relationships among self-differentiation, family-life satisfaction, and job satisfaction. The results indicated that the higher the level of self-differentiation was, the more effective conflict-managing behavior was. And the more effective conflict-managing behavior was, the higher the levels of family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction were.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of physical and social servicescape of apartment community facilities on residential satisfaction and quality of life among newlyweds who have been married for less than 7 years. Methods: In this study, a survey was conducted among 361 Newlywed Hope Town residents who have been married for 7 years or less, and frequency analysis, reliability, validity, and hypothesis testing were conducted using SPSS 22.0. Results: The results of this study are as follows. First, the physical service environment (spatiality, convenience, aesthetics, and comfort) has a significant effect on residential satisfaction. Second, social service landscape (human service, customer similarity, customer suitability) has a significant effect on residential satisfaction. Third, the physical service landscape has a significant effect on quality of life. Fourth, the social service landscape had a significant impact on quality of life. Finally, residential satisfaction has a significant effect on quality of life. Conclusion: This study found that community facilities in Newlywed Hope Town, an apartment complex for newlyweds who have been married for less than seven years, affect residential satisfaction and quality of life in both the physical and social environments. The significance of the study is that the community of the Newlywed Hope Town apartment was approached as a physical environment such as spatial organization and facilities and a social environment of human services, and the relationship between the effects on residential satisfaction and quality of life was examined. In the future, it is necessary to study the effects of communities for young couples such as the Newlywed Hope Town apartment on residential satisfaction and quality of life.

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and the impact of it on the education satisfaction a positive change in life after the education according to education participation motive types in married immigrant women. By the regression, education participation motive types(${\beta}$=.16) affected on the women's the education satisfaction significantly but it's effect(${\beta}$=.16) on the a positive change in life through the education affected insignificantly. By the ANOVA analysis, the activity-oriented among the education participation motive types were highest in the level of education satisfaction, self-esteem, marital satisfaction, the length of residence in Korea, and age. By the logistic regression, only the length of residence in Korea affected on the activity-oriented significantly.

In the near future, the multicultural families are expected to be the majority of population living in the rural area, which is an aged and small-scaled society. Moreover, they are expected to have an important role in sustaining the culture of agriculture and a rural community. Therefore, it is very important for them to adjust and settle urgently as well as to develop a policy and social services for the adjustment and settlement. The purpose of this study is to identify different aspects of the participation in agricultural, social, and job activities of married immigrant women in a Korean rural area as well as to investigate the change of life satisfaction resulting from the l activities. The following findings were established from this study. First, married immigrant women participate in local social and agricultural activities in a Korean rural area more frequently than in their own country. However, the frequency of their participation in job activity in a Korean rural area is lower than in their own country. Second, the main factor that prevents married immigrant women from participating in agricultural activity in a Korean rural area is to carry out childcare, household chores, and farming at the same time. Their low participation in social activity and job activity mostly results from their lack of fluency in Korean. Third, married immigrant women score higher in the change of life satisfaction after participating in social activity and job activity than in agricultural activity.
The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among the identity, lifestyle and satisfaction with family resources of rural married persons. The subjects of this study were 435 married women and men in Ansung. The major findings were as follows: 1. The identity of rural married persons was significantly different depending on their gender and educational level. 2. Their lifestyle was significantly different depending on their gender, educational level, job, the type of dwelling, and family income. 3. Their satisfaction with family resources was significantly different depending on their educational level, job, the type of dwelling, and family income. 4. There was positive correlation among their identity, lifestyle and satisfaction with family resources of the rural married persons.
