  • Purpose: As part of the government's national policy agenda, one of the key initiatives in the Rural Convergence Industry is the selection and cultivation of certified operators. This study aims to specifically analyze the business performance of certified operators, first selected in 2015, based on their characteristics, and to propose improvement measures for the Rural Convergence Industry based on the analysis results. Methods: Data were collected from the certification (renewal) records of the Gyeongnam Sixth Industry Support Center from 2015 to 2023. The R program (R Core Team 2023) was used for data analysis. Results: The performance and role of certified operators are receiving attention to spread and increase awareness of the Rural Convergence Industry. While the location, gender of the representative, type of certified operator, type of convergence industry (6th industry), and main product did not have statistically significant effects on the sales and job changes of certified operators, the sales growth rate according to the management period of certified operators was found to have a statistically significant effect. Conclusion: It was observed that the longer the management period of the certified operator, the more sales increased, with a significant rise in sales growth rate at the early stage of the certified operator. This suggests that to revitalize and successfully promote the Rural Convergence Industry, it is necessary to strengthen the operator certification system and continuously implement various projects to enhance the capabilities of certified operators.

  • This study was conducted to confirm the relationship between the proactive accounts receivable management of SMEs on credit sales decision making and business performance, and to derive effective accounts receivable management plan and systematic credit sales decision making plan. Based on 455 copies of data collected through a survey targeting SMEs, it was confirmed through factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and model fit verification, and the research hypothesis was verified with a structural equation model. As a result of the verification, credit rating had a positive effect on financial performance, sales performance and credit sales decision, while credit control had a positive effect on financial performance, while negative effect on sales performance and credit sales decision. In the mediating effect hypothesis test, credit sales decision had a positive effect between credit rating and business performance and a negative effect between credit control and business performance. The study suggests that if small and medium-sized enterprises improve their business performance through effective accounts receivable management, they can create a synergistic effect in enhancing the business performance of companies if they simultaneously improve their proactive accounts receivable management and credit sales decision ability. Future research is required to study the impact of factors such as segmentation of research subjects and credit transaction motives and accounts receivables management.

  • Purpose : Promoting startups has increased in importance in labor market policies since the economic crisis. In Korea, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is also seeking to revitalize youth startups and traditional markets by moving young stores into idle spaces in traditional markets through 'Project to Support the Activation of Youth Mall'. Research into startups in traditional markets is very limited. Therefore, this study looks at the differences between the management performance of young merchants and senior merchants, and looks at the impact of the business period. Research design, data and methodology : It was divided into youth startup and senior startup based on the age of 40 and startup and nonstartup. Based on these criteria, the company intends to compare and analyze sales and margin rates by setting the sales and margin rates with the management performance of the startup and senior startups. In particular, to look at the feasibility of government funded projects for young merchants, the company will look at the changes in sales and margin rates of young merchants and senior merchants over the period of operation. In this study, the analysis was based on the raw data of the Statistics of traditional market in 2017, and the ANCOVA was used. Results : First of all, the sales volume of stores operated by young merchants, was higher than those operated by senior merchants. Next, the margin ratio does not differ from that of stores that are for young people and those. These findings suggest that the profit structure of stores in traditional markets is similar between young merchants and senior merchants. Third, if you look at the performance of new startups based on one year of business period in more detail, it turns out that young startups have improved in sales and margin rates since startups, while senior startups have no difference. Conclusions : While it means that management performance can be improved through support for young startups, it suggests that there is a limit to supporting senior startups. Therefore, this research indicates that the government support projects centered on youth can contribute to the revitalization of traditional markets.

  • The purpose of this study is to forecast the sales of convenience store flagship products with nonlinear characteristics and time series characteristics. According to the results, the sales of 'Ice Cup' began to increase from March, reached the highest value in summer, especially July and August, and then decreased, revealing a seasonal pattern. Cigarettes showed a seasonal pattern of higher sales in summer and lower sales in winter and was predicted to decrease in sales in the future. This study provides an academic implication in that it focused on the top-selling products that affected an increase in financial performance in a specific convenience store, a method that has been hardly adopted by the existing studies.

  • Propose: The expansion of the delivery market in franchise business is a positive means of advertising and promotion for franchisees and contributes to substantial sales growth for stores. However, unrestricted and uncontrolled delivery sales and business activity of franchisee directly lead to encroachment of business territory between franchisees, resulting in increased operating costs of franchisees and conflicts between franchisees over rights and interests on franchise business. Moreover, in relation to the restrictions on the opening of competitors, it is incapacitating the law intent of prohibiting unfair encroachment of business territory, in the issue of the Fair Franchise Act in regard to guarantee of exclusive sales and business activity rights of franchisee. This study aims to point out major problems arising out of franchisee's infinite competition on delivery sales and business activity that are not restricted or controlled and then suggest legal supplements, policy tasks, and practical implications for improvement on the issues. Literature Review: In franchising business transactions, vertical restraints are associated with the exclusive territory establishment, control of transaction area, restriction of intangible sales and business activity of franchisee. Therefore, in the franchise business, it is necessary to take positive interpretation and application on e-commerce, the area of e-commerce, and delivery trading area and find proper and practical ways, by virtue of constructive attitude of each actor, to reduce the encroachment of business territory and various conflicts caused by unrestricted delivery trading area. Conclusion and suggestion: The finding shows that unrestricted or uncontrolled delivery sales and business activity of franchisees cause encroachment of business territory and many conflicts among franchisees. And this matters also weaken the legislation of the law on the protection of the business territory and can be negative factors that disrupt the protection of identity and sound development of the franchise industry in the long run.

  • This study aims to analyze whether facilities linked to the inside and outside of the station affect the revitalization of commercial spaces inside the station where individual rental stores are clustered. Rent, which can replace sales, was set as the determining factor for revitalization. In addition to the variables related to sales, culture, office work/residential, public institutions, and transportation facilities, the independent variables were the number of daily passengers, which is a location factor of the station, and the product sales business, which accounts for the largest number of industries in the commercial space inside the station. As a result of regression analysis, it was proved that rent has an effect on product sales business, linked sales facilities, transportation facilities, and the number of passengers on board. These results indicate that the formation of sales products that can increase purchasing power and the direction of facility linkage that can increase the inflow population into the station are needed to revitalize commercial spaces in the station. In this study, the establishment of a living-friendly SOC for residents' convenience daily life was suggested as a policy management plan for stations with a high vacancy rate due to reduced vitalization.

  • Does servitization improve manufacturing firms' performance, and in what condition? Following the seminal work of Crozet and Milet (2017), this study analyzes disaggregated firm-level data that covers 40,000 South Korean manufacturing firms surveyed by the Survey of Business Activities of Korea. We compute firm-level servitization intensity with available sales data of each firm by two-digit SIC sub-sectors. We find two novel empirical regularities: Korean servitization intensity distribution shows a very different shape from the French benchmark; Servitized firms tend to perform higher profitability and higher productivity than non-servitized firms.

  • This study aims to examine the antecedent factors of debt policy on the influence of firm growth on firm value. There was a total of 19 companies involved accounting for 95 observational data from a population of 169 companies listed on the Kompas 100 Index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2018. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, classic assumption tests, multiple regression, and hypothesis testing. The results prove that the firm growth, proxied by asset growth or sales growth, did not have a significant influence on the debt policy. Further, there was no significant influence of debt policy on firm value when using debt ratio and also dividend policy as a control variable. In contrast, there was a positive and significant influence on the firm value when using debt to equity ratio proxy, both with or without using the control variable. Therefore, the debt policy was not proven as an antecedent on the influence of firm growth on firm value. This finding implies that there was a tendency for the company management to adopt the policy, which would increase the debt ratio to increase the investors' confidence in the stock market and investors neglect the company's dividend policy.

  • This article analyzes the spillover effects by dividing the weekly rate of return on apartment prices in 70 si-gun-gu (local area) in the Capital Region into three periods: the entire period (April 2008~August 2021); the period before the price surge (April 2008~October 2018); and the period of price surge (November, 2018~August 2021), based on a consideration of the cycle of fluctuations in apartment sales prices and the timing of the current government's policy interventions. The results obtained from this analysis are summarized as follows. First, the analysis of the spillover effects is similar to or different from the results of existing work depending on the period. The analysis of the spillover effects on the entire period and the period before the price surge shows that the 'Gangnam' effect exists in the apartment market in the Capital Region. On the other hand, the analysis of the spillover effects on the period of price surge reveals different results than before. The spillover effect index calculated through the analysis of the rolling sample decreases during the decline in the cycle of apartment sales prices, while the opposite trend is shown during the upward period. Looking at the timing between the peak of the spillover effect index and policy interventions, it appears that the government's policy interventions took place after the peak of the spillover effect index in 2017, before the peak in 2018 and 2019, and around or after the peak after 2020.
