  • We purpose a decision model to select the optimal facilities for the Decision Making problems with multiple characteristics(nominal-is-best characteristics, larger-is -better characteristics, smaller- is -better characteristics). Using this model, concept of the loss function is used in this comprehensive method of for select the optimal preferred facilities. To solve the issue on the optimal preferred facilities for multiple characteristics, this study propose the loss function with cross-product terms among the characteristics and derived range of the coefficients of the terms.

  • Many firms have applied flexible manufacturing systems as a means of increasing productivity, profitability, and quality. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to develop the more efficient justification model through an analytical scoring model with the quantitative factors, flexibility factors, and safety factors under uncertainty. In this paper, the three factors for properly comparing and evaluating of flexible manufacturing systems are presented. Especially, this paper has emphasized the flexibility and safety factor; the one consists of organization assessment, process treatment function, products and products quantity, useful life assesment, and software function, the other presents risk assesment, Y2K problem, safety device analysis, total productive management system, safety management. Finally, a normalized scoring model by the new flexibility and safety factors can be used in real fields for flexible manufacturing systems project selection under uncertainty.

원전 안전필수 계측제어시스템의 주기적 자동고장검출기능에 따른 고장허용 평가모델 (The Fault Tolerant Evaluation Model due to the Periodic Automatic Fault Detection Function of the Safety-critical I&C Systems in the Nuclear Power Plants)

  • This study suggests a generalized availability and safety evaluation model to evaluate the influences to the system's fault tolerant capabilities depending on automatic fault detection function such as the automatic periodic testings. The conventional evaluation model of automatic fault detection function deals only with the self diagnostics, and supposes that the fault detection coverage of self diagnostics is always constant. But all of the fault detection methods could be degraded. For example, the periodic surveillance test has the potential human errors or test equipment errors, the self diagnostics has the potential degradation of built-in logics, and the automatic periodic testing has the potential degradation of automatic test facilities. The suggested evaluation models have incorporated the loss or erroneous behaviors of the automatic fault detection methods. The availability and the safety of each module of the safety grade platform have been evaluated as they were applied the automatic periodic test methodology and the fault tolerant evaluation models. The availability and safety of the safety grade platform were improved when applied the automatic periodic testing. Especially the fault tolerant capability of the processor module with a weak self-diagnostics and the process parameter input modules were dramatically improved compared to the conventional cases. In addition, as a result of the safety evaluation of the digital reactor protection system, the system safety of the digital parts was improved about 4 times compared to the conventional cases.

세포벽 분해효소 처리에 의한 연잎 추출물의 항산화 및 tyrosinase 저해 활성 (Anti-oxidant and Whitening Effects of Cell Lytic Enzyme-treated Lotus Leaf Extract)

  • The effects of cell lytic enzyme treatment on total phenolic content, antioxidant and antityrosinase activities of lotus leaf were investigated. The dried lotus leaves were hydroyzed by cell lytic enzymes such as Promozyme, Ceremix, Pectinex, Ultraflo, Celluclast, Pentopan, Tunicase, Viscozyme at their optimum pHs (pH 5-8) at $50^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs. Depending on the enzymes used, total phenolic compounds content was measured as $1,079-1,476{\mu}g$/mL, and antioxidant activities and whitening activities were increased by 5~10% and 20%, respectively Among the tested hydrolytic enzymes, Promozyme (pullulanase) was selected as the most suitable enzyme for the extraction of total polyphenol from lotus leaf. The optimal dosage of Promozyme were found to be 1-2% (w/w). By Promozyme treatment, total phenolic compounds content of the lotus extract significantly increased compared to the extraction without enzyme treatment.

나노리포좀을 이용한 astaxanthin의 안정화 (Stabilization of Astaxanthin Using Nanoliposome)

  • 본 연구에서는 이중결합을 가진 불포화화합물로 제조나 저장 시 열과 산화 (빛)에 의해 쉽게 파괴되어 활성이 감소하여 응용범위에 한계가 있는 아스타잔틴의 안정성 향상을 위하여 나노리포좀 제형기술을 이용하였다. 제형안정성 평가를 통하여 리포좀 제조조건 및 조성비를 확립하였고, 포접나노리포좀을 제조하여 포접전의 아스타잔틴과 안정성을 비교 검토하였다. 아스타잔틴을 포접하여 포접나노리포좀 제조 시포접전의 아스타잔틴에 비해 열에 대한 안정성이 2배 정도 향상되고, UV 안정성 또한 3배 향상된 것을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 아스타잔틴을 포접한 포접나노리포좀은 안정성이 우수한 기능성 원료로서 산업적으로 용도를 넓히고 부가가치를 더욱 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Potential of an Interactive Metaverse Platform for Safety Education in Construction

  • The construction industry is considered the most hazardous industry globally. Therefore, safety education is crucial for raising the safety awareness of construction workers working at construction sites and creating a safe working environment. However, the current safety education method and tools cannot provide trainees with realistic and practical experiences that might help better safety awareness in practice. A metaverse, a real-time network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection, was created for more interactive communication, collaboration, and coordination between users. Several previous studies have noted that the metaverse has excellent potential for improved safety education performance, but its required functions and practical applications have not been thoroughly researched. In order to fill the research gap, this paper reviewed the potential benefits of a metaverse based on the current research and suggested its application for safety education purposes. This paper scrutinized the metaverse's key functions, particularly its information and knowledge sharing function and reality capture function. Then, the authors created a metaverse prototype based on the two key functions described above. The main contribution of this paper is reviewing the potential benefits of a metaverse for safety education. A realistic and feasible metaverse platform should be developed in future studies, and its impact on safety education should be quantitatively verified.

FMVSS 226 Ejection Mitigation Impact Test의 시험품 단순화에 따른 인자들의 상관 관계에 대한 연구 (Study on Ejection Mitigation Impact Test about correlation between Vehicle and B.I.W(Body In White) Condition)

  • FMVSS226 Ejection Mitigation Impact Test is usually performed by real vehicle. But it is necessary to perform the test using by Reinforced B.I.W. with considering vehicle developing timing and roof rail airbag (RRAB) supplier capacity. We sometimes need tendency (quick data) instead of slow accurate data to fix RRAB design as proper timing. Test with Reinforced B.I.W. is helpful saving time and cost. But it should be confirmed how much different between vehicle conditioned test result and Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned test result. There are some points to be improved even in the test with vehicle. Understanding of deviation of Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned test result from vehicle conditioned test result is needed to get benefits with using Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned in the test.

Gender-related Factors Associated with Upper Extremity Function in Workers

  • Objectives: This study aimed to find gender distinctions in terms of the sociology of the population; to determine work-related factors; to analyze gender differences in daily living, work, sports, and art performances; and to identify gender-related factors that limited performance of daily living and work activities. Methods: A questionnaire was designed that included disabilities of the arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH), accident history, disease history, work duration at current workplace, marital status, job satisfaction, job autonomy, and physical demands of the job. Out of 1,853 workers surveyed, 1,173 questionnaires (63.3%; 987 males, 186 females) included responses to DASH disability and DASH optional work and were judged acceptable for analysis. Results: Upper extremity functional limitation during work and daily living was higher for females than males. The limitations for males increased according to their household work time, accident history, work duration, job satisfaction, physical demand, and job autonomy. Meanwhile, female workers' upper extremity discomfort was influenced by their disease history, job satisfaction, and physical demands. In addition, the size of the company affected male workers' upper extremity function, while marriage and hobbies influenced that of female workers. Conclusion: This study addressed sociodemographic factors and work-related factors that affect each gender's upper extremity function during daily living and working activities. Each factor had a different influence. Further studies are needed to identify the effect that role changes, not being influenced by risks at work, have on musculoskeletal disorders.

USNCAP에 대응하는 반응표면법을 이용한 조수석 안전구속장치 최적화 (Optimization of Passenger Safety Restraint System for USNCAP by Response Surface Methodology)

  • Safety performance of a new car is evaluated through USNCAP and their results in the star rating are provided to the consumers. It is very important to obtain high score of USNCAP to appeal their performance to consumers. Therefore the car companies have made the effort to improve their car safety performance. These efforts should satisfy the demand not only to get high score but also to pass the FMVSS, NHTSA regulations on safety. Huge numbers of car crash tests have been conducted on these bases by car companies. However physical tests spend too much cost and time, as an alternative way, the simulation on the car crash could be a solution to reduce the cost and time. Therefore the simulations have been widely conducted in car industry and various researches on this have been reported. In this study, restraint system had been optimized to minimize the injury of female passenger. Belted $5^{th}%ile$ female frontal crash test was selected from various test methods of USNCAP for the study. Initial velocity of the test was 56km/h. The combination injury probability of USNCAP was selected as an objective function and the injury limit value, which was defined in FMVSS, was set to an optimization constraint. Many researches that were similar to this study had been conducted, however most of them had limitation that interaction between airbag and safety belt had not been considered. Contrary to these researches, the interaction was considered in this study.

  • 본 연구에서는 열차운행의 안전을 보장하기 위하여 철도사고 위험사건에 대응한 안전기능 분석과 열차의 운영, 관리상의 안전요건 검토를 수행하였고, 도시철도 열차의 안전운행 보장에 필수적인 안전원칙 및 안전 기능과 같은 전제조건과 열차 구성요건을 명확히 제시하였다. 제안된 열차 구성요건을 기반으로 도시철도운전 규칙의 합리적인 개정을 제안하며, 이는 철도의 사고예방과 지속적인 운행안전 개선에 기여할 것이다.
