Modeling of the Maglev Vehicle Running over the Elevated Guideway Using Flexible Multibody Dynamics (유연다물체 동역학을 이용한 자기부상열차 동역학 모델링 연구)

  • In general, the Maglev vehicle is ran over the elevated guideway consisted of steel or concrete structure. Since the running behaviour of the vehicle is affected by the flexibility of the guideway, the consideration of the flexibility of guideway is needed for evaluation of dynamics of both the vehicle and guideway. A new technique based on flexible multibody dynamics is proposed to model the Maglev vehicle, levitation controller, and guideway into a coupled model. To verify the technique, an urban Maglev vehicle is analyzed using the technique and discussions are carried out.

Numerical Analysis of Accumulated Sliding Distance of Pre-Stressed Concrete (PSC) Bridge Bearing for High-Speed Railway for Ubiquitous Technology (유비쿼터스 기술을 위한 고속철도상 Pre-Stressed Concrete(PSC) 교량받침의 누적수평이동거리에 관한 수치해석)

  • Numerical analysis of PSC box bridge bearings for high speed KTX train vehicles has been carried out as a virtual simulation for Ubiquitous Technology. Improved numerical models of bridge, vehicle and interaction between bridge and train are considered, where bending and torsional modes are provided, whereas the exist UIC code is applied by the simplified HL loading. Dynamic and static analysed results are compared to get Dynamic Amplification Factors (D. A. F.) for maximum deflections and bending stresses up to running speed of 500 km/h. Equation from the regression analysis for the D. A. F. is presented. Sliding distance of the bearings for various KTX running speeds is compared with maximum and accumulated distances by the dynamic behaviors of PSC box bridge. Dynamic and static simulated sliding distances of the bearings according to the KTX running speed are proved as a major parameter in spite of the specifications of AASHTO and EN1337-2 focused on the distance by temperature variations.

  • The Operational Deflection Shape designates the motion pattern by which a structure vibrates under a specific operating condition. Modal Analysis is usually tested under test bench, but Operational Deflection Shape can be measured directly under real operating condition. It provide useful information for trouble-shooting and aid understanding and evaluation of the absolute dynamic behaviour of a machine or component. In this paper, It is analysed Excavator Upper Frame using Operating Deflection Shape.

  • In this paper, main effects of bridge vibration were investigated by arranging static and dynamic test data on 30 highway bridges. The test were conducted using displacement transducers and strain gages attached at midspan of each bridges over which a heavy test vehicle was running. Then, vibrational characteristics of the bridges were obtained in the time domain analysis by distinguishing the forced and free vibration state. The results obtained in this paper will be used properly to simulate the vibrational behaviour of the bridges which is in the state of the beginning in the domestic.

  • It is very important that establishing the valve train equations and representing the behavior of the valve train parts. To maintain the specific efficiency of running engine, the cam profile of valve train has more specific influence on the adequate behavior of the valve train than a valve clearance, heat-resistance and durability of parts. The polynomial cam, the multipol cam and polydyne cam profie are widely used to represent cam behaviour. In this study, using polydyne cam design profile equations which is more adequate for representing high speed engine, the geometrical modeling and mathmatical variable analysis are established to analysis the valve behaviour.

  • This paper presents a comprehensive approach to the evaluation of macroscopic material parameters for natural stone and quarry masonry. To that end, a reliable non-linear material model on a meso-scale is developed to cover the random arrangement of stone blocks and quasi-brittle behaviour of both basic components, as well as the impaired cohesion and tensile strength on the interface between the blocks and mortar joints. The paper thus interrelates the following three problems: (i) definition of a suitable periodic unit cell (PUC) representing a particular masonry structure; (ii) derivation of material parameters of individual constituents either experimentally or running a mixed numerical-experimental problem; (iii) assessment of the macroscopic material parameters including the tensile and compressive strengths and fracture energy.

  • This occurs when the unbalanced rotating body is inconsistent with the mass center line axis geometric center line. Wheelsets are assembled by a single axle with two wheels and a rotating body of a running railway vehicle. Owing to non-uniformity of the wheel material, the wear, and error of the wheel and axle assembly may cause an imbalance. Wheelsets will suffer the effects of vibrations due to the unbalanced mass, which becomes more pronounced due to the thin and high-speed rotation compared to the shaft diameter This can affect the driving safety and the running behavior of a rail car during high-speed running. Therefore, this study examined this unbalanced wheel using a railway vehicle multibody dynamics analysis tool to assess the impact of the dynamic VI-Rail movement of high-speed railway vehicles. Increasing the extent of wheel imbalance on the analysis confirmed that the critical speed of a railway vehicle bogie is reduced and the high-speed traveling dropped below the vehicle dynamic behaviour. Therefore, the adverse effects of the amount of a wheel imbalance on travel highlight the need for management of wheel imbalances. In addition, the static and dynamic management needs of a wheel imbalance need to be presented to the national rail vehicles operating agency.

  • This paper deals with the magnetic properties under the rotational magnetic field on the electrical steel sheet by using Single Sheet Tester with two excitation coils. Actually, the magnetic flux of stator cores in running motors have the behaviour of rotating and alternating flux. In order to improve motor characteristics, it is require to estimate these magnetic properties. When the magnetic field vectors are rotating around in the plane of the sheet during one period of cycle, the magnetization properties and the core loss are measured and then, the results are compared with the magnetic properties obtained by the alternating magnetic fields.

High Temperature Creep-Fatigue Behavior of 25Cr-13Ni Stainless Steel (25Cr-13Ni 스테인리스강의 고온 크리프-피로거동에 관한 연구)

  • The low cycle fatigue (LCF) and creep-fatigue (hold time tension fatigue, HTTF) tests were performed on the modified 25Cr-13Ni cast stainless steel, which was selected as a candidate material for exhaust manifold in automotive engine. The exhaust manifold is subjected to an environment in which heating and cooling cycle occur due to the running pattern of automotive engine. Several types of fatigue behaviour such as thermal fatigue, thermal mechanical fatigue and creep-fatigue are belong to the main failure mechanisms. High temperature tensile test was firstly carried out to compare the sample with the traditional cast steel for the component. The low cycle fatigue and HTTF tests were carried out under the strain controlled condition with the total strain amplitude from ${\pm}0.6%$ to ${\pm}0.7%$ at $800^{\circ}C$. The hysteresis loops of HTTF tests showed significant stress relaxation during tension hold time. With the increase of tension hold time, the fatigue life was remarkably deceased which caused from the formation of intercrystalline crack by the creep failure mechanism.

A Study on the Strengths Model-based Parenting Experience of the Children with ADHD (강점관점으로 본 ADHD 아동 어머니의 양육 경험에 관한 연구)

  • This study was aimed to seek the essential meaning of the Strengths Model based experience of the mothers of the children with ADHD. To achieve such goal, a phenomenological study was carried out from April 2010 to April 2011 covering about 12 months in the way of 2~3 times of interviewing with 14 mothers of the children with ADHD. As a result, the essence of the experiences of those mothers was interpreted as 'the running of unwanted marathon struggling themselves to complete it'. The joining in the unwanted marathon turned out to have led 'me' the mother of the children with ADHD into miserable pain, but that is the 'energy' for 'my child' to endure the world. The essence of those mothers' experiences were divided into eight processes by timely constitution. They firstly experience 'a serial confusion' by their children's odd behaviour which turns out to be 'a semiconscious feeling by the diagnosis with 'ADHD' but then they make full efforts for their children accepting their 'maternal fate'. In that process, they participate in the unwanted marathon with the feeling of misery and gratitude for the 'sayings of teachers which play the roles of shot and grace'. The process was expressed as 'marathon like pain'. They make a resolve to live positively in the midst of lonely struggle unable to give up toward the finish line for 'my child and myself'. They encourage themselves for their children, but that's not easy process. Nevertheless, they gain enduring energy supported by their child, family and specialists. Those mothers keep running today also for their 'beloved doves enduring the ongoing hardship' from the raising of abnormal child toward the finish line of the marathon they have to run for even though the 'finish line' may turn into' 'starting point' again'. This researcher submits here the maternal experiences above as the task to practice social welfare for the mothers of the children with ADHD and the children themselves.
