  • In this research, an effective technique was examined to improve the drift running performance. Concretely, the driver model by which the counter steer was done was assumed to the model by which the vehicle body slip angle (and the vehicle body slip angle velocity) was feed back. Next, the effectiveness of the system which added the assist steer angle corresponding to the steering wheel angle velocity to a front wheel steer angle was clarified as a drift running performance improvement technique of the vehicle. As a result, because the phase advances when the differentiation steer assistance is added, it has been understood to be able to cover the delay of the counter steer when the drift running. Therefore, it has been understood that the drift control does considerably easily. Moreover, it has been understood that the differentiation steer assistance acts effectively at the drift cornering by which the drift angle is maintained in cornering and the severe lane change with a drift at a situation. That is, it was understood to be able to settle to the drift angle of the aim quickly at the time of the drift cornering because the delay of the control steer angle of the counter steer was improved. Moreover, it was understood for the transient overshoot of the vehicle tracks to be able to decrease, and to return to the state of stability quickly at the severe lane change.

  • In this paper, a regeneration inverter is proposed using 3-level inverter. Electric regeneration means regeneration brake in electric railway vehicles. Induction motors, generally used with railway vehicles, convert the electric energy to the movement energy when vehicle is running. When the vehicle stop, the induction motor convert the movement energy to the electric energy. Usually, this energy is used with another running vehicle in the same section. If there is no vehicle around when the regeneration is occurred, regeneration energy is consumed by heat energy with resistors. The proposed inverter is capable of reuse this regeneration energy in another place.

  • Long-span bridges with high flexibility and low structural damping are very susceptible to the vortex-induced vibration (VIV), which causes extremely negative impacts on the ride comfort of vehicles running on the bridges. To assess the ride comfort of vehicles running on the long-span bridges subjected to VIV, a coupled wind-vehicle-bridge system applicable to the VIV case is firstly developed in this paper. In this system, the equations of motion of the vehicles and the bridge subjected to VIV are established and coupled through the vehicle-bridge interaction. Based on the dynamic responses of the vehicles obtained by solving the coupled system, the ride comfort of the vehicles can be evaluated using the method given in ISO 2631-1. At last, the proposed framework is applied to several case studies, where a long-span suspension bridge and two types of vehicles are taken into account. The effects of vehicle speed, vehicle type, road roughness and vehicle number on the ride comfort are investigated.

  • The coefficient of derailment and the rate of wheel load reduction were used as the index of train running safety that was directly affected the train derailment safety. In aspects of track, the train running safety depends on the complex interaction between wheel and rail, and the track-vehicle conditions (i.e., the curvature, cant, track system, vehicle speed and the operation conditions, etc). In this study, the relationship between the train running safety and the track curvature and vehicle speed for direct fixation concrete tracks currently employed in Korean light rapid transit was assessed by performing field tests using actual vehicles running along the service lines. The measured dynamic wheel load, lateral wheel load and lateral displacement of rail head were measured for same train running on four tested tracks under real conditions, which included curved and tangent tracks placed on the tunnel and bridge, thus increasing the train speed by approximately maximum design speed of each test site. Therefore, the measured dynamic track response was applied to the running safety analysis in order to evaluate the coefficient of derailment, the rate of wheel load reduction and the track gauge widening at each test site, and compare with the corresponding Korean train running safety standard. As the results, the lateral track response of direct fixation concrete track appeared to increase with the decreased track curvature; therefore, it was inferred that the track curvature directly affected the train running safety.

  • When a vehicle is running, wheel is generating vertical and lateral force on the rail, in addition to load of vehicle, through a complicated set of motions. The derailment coefficient refers to the ratio of lateral force to vertical force(wheel load), and if the value exceeds a certain level, a wheel climbs or jumps over the rail. That's why the value is used as a criterion for running safety. Derailment coefficient of rolling stocks alters according to shape of rail track. I measured three-dimensional angular velocity and acceleration to use 3D Motion Tracker. Test result, derailment coefficient of rolling stocks and shape of rail track examined closely that have fixed relation. Specially, was proved that roll motion has the close coupling relation.

  • This study is focused on the dynamic response of curved bridge when the rubber tired AGT vehicles is running with alternative articulations. For the analytic approach, there is necessary for the three dimensional vehicle model with 11 degree of freedom and the three dimensional curved bridge model by means of finite element method. It can be described by conventional Lagrangian formula with respect to the dynamic interactions between vehicles and its met bridge. The formula is implemented by Fortran language on the simulation program designated BADIA II(Bridge-AGT Dynamic Interaction Analysis II). The solutions of the formula are derived by Newmark- ${\beta}$ method. The BADIA II is for the dynamic interactions between vehicle and curved bridge in terms of the roughness of running surface and guide rail. The applicability of the BADIA II is verified in terms of displacement and modal frequency. This study is described that the dynamic interactive behaviors between the rubber tired AGT vehicle and curved bridge in terms of the radius of curvatures of curved bridge, vehicle articulations, vehicle speeds, vehicle weights, flatness of running surface and roughness of guide rail using BADIA II.

  • The important factor to evaluate the running safety of a railway vehicle would be the interaction force between wheel and rail(derailment coefficient), for which is one of important factors to check the running safety of a railway vehicle that may cause a tragic accident. Especially, a newly developed vehicle that first runs commercially requires necessarily the measurement and evaluation of derailment coefficient for securing the safety of a vehicle while measuring the derailment coefficient in view of securing running safety could be the more important factor than any other factors. In this paper, examined possibility that can forecast derailment possibility to behavior of only vibration and displacement by measuring vibration acceleration and displacement in vehicles that travel actuality rail track, and compares with data of wheel load/lateral force result.

  • Safety of railroad is result of reliability which is received from test & evaluation of system. Railroad system is consisted of various sub system such as vehicle, supply of electric power, signal, communication, rail track construction, operation. To secure safety of railroad, evaluation about parts, assembly, sub system, whole system etc.. that compose railroad is essential. In this paper, I wish to describe for results that analyze korean tilting vehicle's derailment coefficient developed by national research achievement. Confirmed that is possible even if speed up, curved line department running speed that estimate korean tilting vehicle's running safety in curved line track of Jungang Line about 20 km/h than present operating speed.
