This paper presents a new overall system for state-of-available-power (SoAP) prediction for a lithium-ion battery pack. The essential part of this method is based on an adaptive network architecture which utilizes both fuzzy model (FIS) and artificial neural network (ANN) into the framework of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). While battery aging proceeds, the system is capable of delivering accurate power prediction not only for room temperature, but also at lower temperatures at which power prediction is most challenging. Due to design property of ANN, the network parameters are adapted on-line to the current battery states (state-of-charge (SoC), state-of-health (SoH), temperature). SoC is required as an input parameter to SoAP module and high accuracy is crucial for a reliable on-line adaptation. Therefore, a reasonable way to determine the battery state variables is proposed applying a combination of several partly different algorithms. Among other SoC boundary estimation methods, robust extended Kalman filter (REKF) for recalibration of amp hour counters was implemented. ANFIS then achieves the SoAP estimation by means of time forward voltage prognosis (TFVP) before a power pulse occurs. The trade-off between computational cost of batch-learning and accuracy during on-line adaptation was optimized resulting in a real-time system with TFVP absolute error less than 1%. The verification was performed on a software-in-the-loop test bench setup using a 53 Ah lithium-ion cell.

While conventional interferometric SAR (InSAR) technique is an excellent tool for displacement observation, it is only sensitive to one-dimensional deformation along the satellite's line-of-sight (LOS). Recently, a multiple aperture interferogram (MAI) technique has been developed to overcome this drawback. This method successfully extracted along-track displacements from InSAR data, based on split-beam InSAR processing, to create forward- and backward- looking interferograms, and was superior to along-track displacements derived by pixel-offset algorithm. This method is useful to measure along-track displacements. However, it does not only decrease the coherence of MAI because three co-registration and resampling procedures are required for producing MAI, but also is confined to a suitable interferometric pair of SAR images having zero Doppler centroid. In this paper, we propose an efficient and robust method to generate MAI from interferometric pair having non-zero Doppler centroid. The proposed method efficiently improves the coherence of MAI, because the co-registration of forward- and backward- single look complex (SLC) images is carried out by time shift property of Fourier transform without resampling procedure. It also successfully removes azimuth flat earth and topographic phases caused by the effect of non-zero Doppler centroid. We tested the proposed method using ERS images of the Mw 7.1 1999 California, Hector Mine Earthquake. The result shows that the proposed method improved the coherence of MAI and generalized MAI processing algorithm.

Intellectual property rights are gathering strength theses days. Because digital contents are easily reproduced and distributed by advanced computers and networks. Digital watermarking is one of the best solutions for this problem. Generally, frequency-domain watermarking algorithms are preferred since they are more robust than spatial-domain algorithms. However, coefficients in the frequency domain are floating-point numbers. Thus, it is not easy to manipulate those floating-point coefficients and frequency-domain watermarking algorithms have some limitations in their applications. In order to overcome this difficulty, we employ an integer transform in this paper. In addition, our proposed algerian can extract the watermark from both the spatial and frequency domains. We embed the watermark into a specific bit-plane of mid-frequency coefficients. This is equivalent to the differential energy watermarking (DEW) in the spatial domain. Our simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is imperceptible, good for the watermark payload, and robustness against various attacks. Moreover, it is more efficient than any other algorithm working in only one domain.

Fast recovery diodes (FRDs) were developed using the $p^{{+}{+}}/n^-/n^{{+}{+}}$ epitaxial layers grown by low temperature epitaxy technology. We investigated the effect of electrostatic discharge (ESD) stresses on their electrical and switching properties using current-voltage (I-V) and reverse recovery time analyses. The FRDs presented a high breakdown voltage, >450 V, and a low reverse leakage current, < $10^{-9}$ A. From the temperature dependence of thermal activation energy, the reverse leakage current was dominated by thermal generation-recombination and diffusion, respectively, at low and high temperature regions. By virtue of the abrupt junction and the Pt drive-in for the controlling of carrier lifetime, the soft reverse recovery behavior could be obtained along with a well-controlled reverse recovery time of 21.12 ns. The FRDs exhibited excellent ESD robustness with negligible degradations in the I-V and the reverse recovery characteristics up to ${\pm}5.5$ kV of HBM and ${\pm}3.5$ kV of IEC61000-4-2 shocks. Likewise, transmission line pulse (TLP) analysis reveals that the FRDs can handle the maximum peak pulse current, $I_{pp,max}$, up to 30 A in the forward mode and down to - 24 A in the reverse mode. The robust ESD property can improve the long term reliability of various power applications such as automobile and switching mode power supply.

This paper presents a multiple face detector based on a robust pupil detection technique. The pupil detector uses active illumination that exploits the retroreflectivity property of eyes to facilitate detection. The detection range of this method is appropriate for interactive desktop and kiosk applications. Once the location of the pupil candidates are computed, the candidates are filtered and grouped into pairs that correspond to faces using heuristic rules. To demonstrate the robustness of the face detection technique, a dual mode face tracker was developed, which is initialized with the most salient detected face. Recursive estimators are used to guarantee the stability of the process and combine the measurements from the multiface detector and a feature correlation tracker. The estimated position of the face is used to control a pantilt servo mechanism in realtime, that moves the camera to keep the tracked face always centered in the image.

Established MFCC that is the basic parameter used to ASR(Automatic Speech Recognition) and DCTCs that use DCT in basic parameter. Also, proposed delta-Cepstrum and delta-delta-Cepstrum parameter that reconstruct Cepstrum to have information for variation of speech. And compared recognition performance in using HMM. For dimension reduction of each parameter LDA algorithm apply and compared recognition. Results are presented reduced dimension delta-delta-Cepstrum parameter in using LDA recognition performance that improve more than existent parameter in noise environment of various condition.
The bio-data processing is used for a suitable purpose with bio-signals, which are obtained from human individuals. Recently, there is increasing demand that the bio-data has been widely applied to various applications. However, it is often that the number of data within each class is limited and the number of classes is large due to the property of problem domain. Therefore, the conventional pattern recognition systems and classification methods are suffering form low generalization performance because the system using the lack of data is influenced by noises of that. To solve this problem, we propose a modified additive factor model for bio-data generation, with two factors; the class factor which affects properties of each individuals and the environment factor such as noises which affects all classes. We then develop a classification system through defining a new similarity function using the proposed model. The proposed method maximizes to use an information of the class classification. So, we can expect to obtain good generalization performances with robust noises from small number of datas for bio-data. Experimental results show that proposed method outperforms significantly conventional method with real bio-data.
Objectives: The aim of this paper was evaluating the ratios of electrical impedance measurements reported in previous studies through a correlation analysis in order to explicit it as the contributing factor to the accuracy of electronic apex locator (EAL). Materials and Methods: The literature regarding electrical property measurements of EALs was screened using Medline and Embase. All data acquired were plotted to identify correlations between impedance and log-scaled frequency. The accuracy of the impedance ratio method used to detect the apical constriction (APC) in most EALs was evaluated using linear ramp function fitting. Changes of impedance ratios for various frequencies were evaluated for a variety of file positions. Results: Among the ten papers selected in the search process, the first-order equations between log-scaled frequency and impedance were in the negative direction. When the model for the ratios was assumed to be a linear ramp function, the ratio values decreased if the file went deeper and the average ratio values of the left and right horizontal zones were significantly different in 8 out of 9 studies. The APC was located within the interval of linear relation between the left and right horizontal zones of the linear ramp model. Conclusions: Using the ratio method, the APC was located within a linear interval. Therefore, using the impedance ratio between electrical impedance measurements at different frequencies was a robust method for detection of the APC.

Model updating method is known to the area to correct finite element models by the results of the experimental modal analysis. Most common methods in model updating depend on a parametric model of the structure. In this case, the number of parameters is normally smaller than that of modal data obtained from an experiment. In order to overcome this limitation, many researchers are trying to get modal data as many as possible to date. 1 want to name this method multiple modified-system generation method. These Methods consist of direct system modification method and feedback controller method. The direct system modification Is to add a mass or stiffness on the original structure or perturb the boundary conditions. The feedback controller method is to make the closed food system with sensor and actuator so as to get the closed loop modal data. In this paper, we need to focus on the feedback controller method because of its simplicity. Several methods related the feedback controller methods are virtual passive controller (VPC) sensitivity enhancement controller (SEC) and mode decoupling controller (MDC). Among them, we will apply MDC to the model updating problem. MDC has various advantages compared with other controllers, such as VPC and SEC. To begin with, only the target mode can be changed without changing modal property of non-target modes. In addition, it is possible to fix any modes if the number of sensors is equal to that of the system modes. Finally, the required control power to achieve desired change of target mode is always lower than those of other methods such as VPC. However, MDC can make the closed loop system unstable when using incomplete modal data. So we need to take action to avoid undesirable instability from incomplete modal data. In this paper, we address the method to design the unique and robust MDD obtained from incomplete modal data. The associated simulation will be Incorporated to demonstrate the usefulness of this method.

In this paper, magneto-rheological(MR) damper is studied for vibration control of large infra structures under earthquake. Generally, active control devices need a large control force and a high power supply system to reduce the vibration effectively. Large and miss tuned control force may induce the dangerous situation such that the generated large control force acts to amplify the structural vibration. Recently, to overcome the weaknesses of the active control, the semi-active control method is suggested by many researchers. Semi-active control uses the passive control device of which the characteristics can be modified. Control force of the semi-active device is not generated from the actuator with power supply. It is generated as a dynamic reaction force of the device same as in the passive control case, so the control system is inherently stable and robust. Unlike the case of passive control, control force of semi-active control is adjusted depending on the measured response of the structure, so the vibration can be reduced more effectively against various unknown environmental loads. Magneto-rheological(MR) damper is one of the semi-active devices. Dynamic characteristics of the MR material can be changed by applying the magnetic fields. So the control of MR damper needs only small power. Response time of MR to the input voltage is very short, so the high performance control is possible. MR damper has a high force capacity so it is adequate to the vibration control of large infra structure. Because MR damper has a nonlinear property, normal control method used in active control may not be effective. Clipped optimal control, modified bang-bang control etc. have been suggested to MR damper by many researchers. In this study, sliding mode fuzzy control(SMFC) is applied to MR damper. Genetic algorithm is used for the controller tuning. To verify the applicability of MR damper and suggested algorithm, numerical simulation on the aseismic control is carried out. Simulation model is three-story building structure, which was used in the paper of Dyke, et al. The control performance is compared with clipped optimal control. The present results indicate that the SMFC algorithm can reduce the earthquake-induced vibration very effectively.
